Title: Offered in hand Butterfly 64GH/s
Post by: NineLives on September 18, 2013, 04:17:57 PM
Hi guys,

I have an opportunity to buy a BF 64GH/s @  3,352.32 USD (in hand) and I have a few questions please?

1)  Is there any point?
2)  Will I make my money back and if so how long? (Estimated of-course)
3)  Shall I save the money and buy shares or just buy BTC and sit on it.

I'm trying to find a sensible way of earning BTC on a regular basis..  that's the aim.

What do you think?

http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

Plug your numbers in there to see how profitable it would be. And account for rising difficulty, for sure.

according to this calculator I would say "NO", estimate cost in BTC 25, and it would earn approx 15BTC in 1 year.. thats all based on BTC price being static as well

Honestly, it's not going to be a worthwhile investment. If you are planning on somehow investing that into BTC, just buy some and trade with them. You'll have a higher ROI and prolly be safer at the same time.

If you really want to buy one this guy has 12 of them for sale at 15BTC each, approx US$1875 and that's almost Half the price of what you would of have paid and its "IN HAND" fark buy 2 of them since your willing to spend that much in the first place

Still, is it worth it?

Yes and no, best case scenario over 12month is your break even, remember all calculators are using a fixed BTC/USD price for the 12 month, I expect the price to go north as long as you HOLD the btc you mine..

2nd point is the difficulty will start to flatten out around Feb 2014 it will not increase 25-35% forever as market will be saturated with Asic and lots of people who bought ASIC recently will be turning them off due....

Its all a gamble, I currently have 14,000kh/s of GPU grunt doing Litecoins which currently earns me approx 0.25btc per 24hours, which is the same as owing a 60GH ASIC but Litecoin diff is not giong thru the roof so its pretty stable...

I'm also looking at buying a used 60Gh BFL or 80-110GH Avalon right now for around 10-12btc just to "HAVE" so I can put it on my shelf :-)
