Title: (apparently) unsolvable problem with asrock H110 pro btc+
Post by: dragg87 on February 17, 2018, 08:53:06 PM
Hi everyone, I'm going crazy over a problem I keep having with the asrock H110 BTC pro+ motherboard (if that is indeed the problem)
The problem is simple: I am running it with 8x gtx 1050 ti to mine ethereum using nvOC, only 6 of the 8 gpus work at full speed (~13 MH/s), the other 2 work at about 1 or 2 MH/s. Here is what I tried in order to make the rig work properly:

- different operating systems: Windows 10, simple mining OS
- updated motherboard bios
- changed pcie settings in the bios (gen1, gen2, other power settings)
- tried other pcie risers, power and usb cables, and cross checked to make sure everything was working (including, of course, the gpus)
- different miners (ethminer, genoil, claymore's)
- upgraded ram from 4 to 8 gbs

and combinations of the above.

Now as you can imagine I'm getting desperate because I cannot understand what is wrong with my system. If any of you had experienced this kind of issue it would be very appreciated if you could help a fellow miner :)

Full system configuration:

Asrock H110 BTC pro+
Celeron g3930
4GB ddr4 2400
ssd kingdian 60GB
PSU Thermaltake 730W
8x gtx 1050 ti (6 Gigabyte low profile, 2 KFA2)

Is there a reason you bought 2400 MHz DDR4 when your CPU only supports 2133MHz?

Have you tried DDU and video driver reinstall?

What stats does MSI AB show for the 2 "lazy" cards?

Do you have another PSU to try to feed the system?

After downloading the newest Nvidia driver.  Run ddu then try adding your cards one by one. And see if that helps.  I’ve had to do that with an msi gaming 5.

Did you try switching pcie slots?

Did you enable 4g decoding in mobo bios?

Could really be a PSU issue ... 730W x 0.87 = 635W Tops for 8 cards + Mobo. Get a Powermeter and check what the system uses on the wall... 1st with 5 cards and then add one by one.

First do you have a kwatt meter?

Second mine Equihash.

Set watts at 60

Check power draw on kwatt meter

Then check to see if they do equal hash.

Then go back to ETH

Set watts at 60

Check power draw on kwatt meter.
