Title: [CLOSED] Three big cheers to Nico and Co. (bitfurystrikesback). Send your tips!
Post by: Micky25 on September 19, 2013, 02:59:20 PM
Cheer 1: delivered in time
Cheer 2: delivered the ordered good (over-delivered actually)
Cheer 3: has customer service

Business as usual one may think, BUT: Nico sells ASIC-Miners! An economic sector in which points 1 to 3 are totally unknown, unexpectable and maybe even undesirable.

To my knowledge, BFSB is the only one in this business to date, that kept what they promised to their customers.

In recognition of this and as a small thank-you gift, I would like to pass some BTCs to Nico, to be used to take out his team to a well-earned traditional evening of glutony and barbaric booze-up (as far as I know they should be mostly descendants of vikings and thus familiar with such customs).

If you would like to join my little fundraising campaign:

SebastianJu, a respected and trusted member of the German bitcoin community, will post an BTC address in this thread where the funds can be sent to. He will contact Nico in mid october to get an address from him and send the BTCs over.

For background information: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.0

ASICMINER delivered on time, on spec, and without taking preorder money (they did take investors for the solo mining operation/development, but the products that came out of that did not take orders until they were in production & shipping).

Although #3 probably doesn't count, since ASICMINER is more of a manufacturer and then the customer service is left up to the retailers.

I'm pretty impressed with BitFury though, it's nice to see a company not radically alter their specs after taking in a bunch of money.

I agree Bitfury team is awesome. Now they need to jump on 28nm and price their miners to crush all competitors.

bump for Campaign closing. Buy the best performing ASIC-Company so far a beer (or two)!

Maybe others take an example how to do it right.

Show them that the bitcoin community recognizes the difference between being treated like bumbling idiots and being treated like a valued customer.

We know how to honor integrity and only get toxic when its appropriate.

It's little bit like what you do in restaurants, if you like the service and there is no spit in the soup you might leave little extra money on the table.

Why would you tip someone because they did what they said they were going to do?  Silly...

SebastianJu contacted punin to get an BTC address to send to, but there was no answer, so we decided to give the (small) funds to Sean's Outpost https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295211.msg3164621#msg3164621 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295211.msg3164621#msg3164621) https://blockchain.info/address/1XEGAEjoy2cc8urafTTjRAnoXkshFc1iY (https://blockchain.info/address/1XEGAEjoy2cc8urafTTjRAnoXkshFc1iY)

I hope this was ok for all participants.

Thanks to all and have a good time!
