These things are not even available yet and these guys are undercutting each other already.

I would suggest BPMC step in and do something to protect the market or there will be no meat left on the bone for resellers to negotiate with large orders.

Actually this is a group buy that needs to hit 250 units the resellers don't have the minimum order placement of 250 and it doesn't seem like we are undercutting each other, you pay the price you get the unit when it arrives no worrying about x amount of units left (except if they are all sold out).

I'm not saying its a bad thing if you get enough people to do a purchase it will help you out immensely.

Yeah that's exactly why i'm offering just slightly under the re-sellers currently, I didn't want to do it but I do have to hit 250 orders minimum like tomas_s has mentioned to become an authorized re-seller. And since this is my first ever group buy I want to prove to the community I am more then capable of handling this type of task.

I do appreciate everyone's input and thank this community for giving me the opportunity to sell bitcoin mining hardware.

Thanks for verifying I realized there was a issue in my registration page while doing some editing everything is fixed and you can still go through and do orders by paypal now.

Soon as I got it fixed got a paypal order in right away. :)

your pricing structure put me out of reselling sticks.  simple math.  the other sellers offer 20 sticks for .85 each  and 1 stick for .9 each.

if I buy 20 sticks at .85 and sell 2 at 1.77   my profit was .07 btc.    and the guy buying 2 sticks from me saved .03 btc  ..

your  pricing of 1-20 at .88 means 2 sticks are .176  so I get no sales.  I have 0 incentive to buy from ssinc in amounts of 20 sticks.

while business is business you are hurting other resellers  like myself which in turn will hurt ssinc , dabs and Thomas_s

I never begrudge anyone trying to make a buck  and I will link your post to the bitminter forum letting them know that small 2 stick sales would be cheaper with you.

Well considering I haven't had any bitcoin orders yet unfortunately I went along and matched every other group buyers payment I just scaled down the volume for the bigger orders of 50+ units.

Hey Maidak, kudos to the idea :D I am def interested and would be ready to toss in an order for at least 8 of them. If paid for in BTC (or PayPay for that matter), is that with shipping already or it be extra? I'm guessing you'll be updating the tally as we move on closer to October. Either way, I know we will reach 250 :D

That price is with shipping included for all USA domestic orders, any international order shipping cost will be flat rate pricing. I'm currently on live chat support right now if you have any questions.

Do you need to be contacted in some way to confirm a PayPal purchase for one of these units? I am completely new to this kind of transaction, so please forgive my ignorance.

If this actually works out, it will double the size of my miniscule mining rig!

One other question. The range on hash rate seems larger than I would expect. What determines
the rate for any individual unit? Luck of the draw? Temperature? How nicely you talk to it?  :)

The range should be 2.5-2.7 only usbs in that range will be sent to resellers. Range depends mainly on chip quality and pcb production quality. From testing it seems these units can run around 2.2-2.4 without heatsinks and 2.5-2.7 with a heatsink.

When you say heatsink, I assume that is the finned one that covers the backside as
is shown in the video?

That looks way more effective than the flat slab on the Block Erupters.

So does this mean that you folks have to "bin sort" the assembled units, and then
"flash" in the parameters to make the unit run reliably at that speed?  I am curious,
because it seems like the RasPi on the full Bitfury blades had a serious hand in "tuning"
each chip to it's best speed. I would guess that some major part of that infrastructure
had to be replicated, presumably in the Atmel processor?

Interesting engineering issues when you scale down from a blade to a USB stick.

Thanks for clarity and description.

Yes the heatsinks being used are the same as is in the video. They might be a little bit lower profile.

My understanding of the process that we go through is. Flash the firmware to each USB. After that we quality test each USB for 1-4 hours. Only the 100% working units are sent out to the resellers. We experienced some units hashing at 1.7 ghs in the last batch. So if we have that kind of problem again we will probably mine with slightly faulty ones or sell them cheaper.

For paypal orders there is no need to verify but you can put your bitcointalk username in the customer notes section if you would like. Btw got some more orders in ill update shortly keep them coming, hopin to see a btc order soon! :)

Thanks for the order looking forward to deliverying them these are now considered a "BLUE FURY" since the PCB will be blue. Keep bringing these orders in almost half way to a 100 the buy will be closing on the 25th! Still no order with bitcoin unfortunately :(

The price per unit via BTC is significantly less than the straight USD purchases. Even at 0.9 BTC the unit would be around $115. While the paypal purchases are $139. Not knit picking, just pointing out the obvious... everyone should be buying them with the BTC is they want em. The discount is fairly worth while :)

I know right! The price for paypal is mainly because of the fees actually.

I think this all depends on your situation and perspective. My situation:

I don't have .9 Bitcoin to just fling off to somebody. I have to start trying to navigate the the murky
waters of "buying" Bitcoin. While MtGox is happy to quote a range of prices, it's completely
non-obvious on how to convert USD to Bitcoin in a safe, reliable, and relatively "inexpensive" way.
I'll bet if I just wanted to get .9 Bitcoin at least half that $24 difference would disappear before
my .9 Bitcoin arrived. I found one guide that suggested I could use Paypal to buy some kind of
other "virtual currency" (SEPA?), that could then be converted Bitcoin. Of course at every stage
of the process, somebody has their hand out to get their cut, which just ends up increasing
the price to me for that actual .9 Bitcoin. Maybe that all drops into the noise category if you are
buying hundreds of Bitcoin.

The other reason to use Paypal is that I am no longer powerless should Maidak turn out
not be a legitimate seller. While I am re-assured by his presence on Ebay, and the relationship
he seems to have with BPMC, the whole Bitcoin/Pre-Order/Group-Buy universe is fraught
with risk. Maybe I am just too sensitized the BFL fiasco, but there is still quite a bit of
"Wild West" mentality out here at the moment. I've been reading about folks who placed
orders with BFL more than 6 months ago that have gotten refunds from Paypal once this guy
figured out the process and correct folks to talk to Paypal. Or in other cases, folks who
mention a PayPal dispute, all of sudden had their hardware get shipped. To me that kind of
service has some value to me. The Bitcoin purchasers of course are at the mercy of BFL's
"No Refund" stance.

Don't get me wrong on this. I think BPMC and Maidak are all "Stand up" folks. I think they have
a real, legitimate product, and are likely to become the new  "Block Erupter" unless friedcat starts
to give them away. I think Maidak will make this happen, absent some tragedy.

On a more upbeat note, why does it matter if there are any Bitcoin purchasers in this Group
Buy? I don't understand the mechanics of how Maidak buys the product from BPMC.

P.S I guess my status will make it obvious that I am a complete (3 month) newbie with Bitcoin.

Post by: thomas_s on September 23, 2013, 06:13:26 AM

The price per unit via BTC is significantly less than the straight USD purchases. Even at 0.9 BTC the unit would be around $115. While the paypal purchases are $139. Not knit picking, just pointing out the obvious... everyone should be buying them with the BTC is they want em. The discount is fairly worth while :)

Hi Maidak!

I've just send an email and 1.14 BTC to you.
Please verify.
Transaction ID: 4f2d19501d1ffa7347c752ffd06c4d81e39b35c8e4fdfa5b5117a48fdea8d37e

Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks and hope you reach your target.

My ranting:
I've given up on BFL.
I've yet received their over priced paper weight.
It would be something if I receive this Fury first.

Yes shipping is free for paypal orders and bitcoin orders all usa domestic if your close to the 43430 area code you can even do local pickup if you would like, just send me a PM or contact my live chat support if you have any questions!

Currently up to 60 total orders! Just would like to thank everyone and note that this will be closing on the 25th at 11:59pm EST, I am currently working on a dedicated website for future group buy purchases that will even further simplify btc and paypal orders. You will no longer need to sign messages verifying your shipping address.

"Software that supports or is working to support Blue Fury miners:
Bfgminer
Bitminter
Cgminer"

See release details of the shipment we are getting in on here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=299295

Hi Maidak,

Thanks for the pm. Nice to know all went well with the payment. Will you be sending a email with a tracking number when the time comes? Just so we know you actually sent our devices. This also would be a bit of a safety for you since you are selling with PP. Would be nice if you could also put our names down on the list. All this will build seller trust for future group buys you make.

All the best! Can't wait for my stuff to arrive  :)

Well these are being shipped to me via express, I just got word in it looks like a more accurate date for shipping is going to be between the 11th and 15th of this month. Of course this could be sooner however I have reopened and it looks like I can still get a limited amount of orders in until they ship to me.

I think the reasoning for this is incase any hicups happen during manufacture. They hopefull should be in sooner but well see here ill know more by the end of this week.

Edit: Also, since I don't see shipping rates for the US in the OP, is the shipping included in the prices then?

Might be a few days delay it would seem. From OutCast3k GB on this same device.

--------
OutCast3k
As far as I'm aware after speaking with him the PCBs are manufactured in China and there was a Chinese holiday at the start of the month which delayed shipment of those slightly, on top of that beastlymac initially wasn't able to contact the bitfury team because of the forums down time. All of which put this project behind schedule slightly. I was told at very worst they would ship by the middle of the month to myself and the other resellers.

Beastlymac
Yep Chinese holidays have caused some issues with pcb availability. Everything is ordered and inbound to fabrication.
---------

From Oct 1 - Oct 7 is so called "National Day Golden Week Holiday. Well back to the sweat shops kids!. "Happy week" is over!

No wonder there are so many people in China with this much free time
- Chinese people legally enjoy over 115 days off including 104 days of weekends and 11 days of festivals.

Still taking orders in for these I'll be closing either when we hit the 100 extra units ordered or before they are shipped to me. If your ordering by paypal check out the new store I am currently working on bitcoinminerz.com (http://bitcoinminerz.com) btc payment also works and no need to sign any more messages. There is no registration required just put the item in your cart and checkout.

I was trying out the site and when I went to setup the shipping I got this:

Free USPS Priority Shipping:   $99.00

I am not sure that is setup correctly. Unless I am really not hip to this new meaning/concept of "free". :)

I have ordered some from ssinc already, but I would like to order a couple more from you to hedge my bets (so to speak). Suss this out and I will order two more via the site to help you test it out.

Awesome glad to know! I have updated the paypal button in the forums where you can now select a quantity of how many miners you wish to purchase before checking out.

If you checkout now on the website use BTC5OFF for 5% off any order, also offers other various payment methods bitcoin, bank wire, western union and paypal.

Hey Maidak Like the new site bookmarked!
Some products need to be more clear like:
http://bitcoinminerz.com/Products/mining-accessories/raspberry-pi?product_id=12
Includes Pi or just accessory pack?  also you have the lcd screen option to add but no details on which LCD of the several there are out there it is.

I've been meaning to get a Pi to play with as my miner get this cgminer window off my main desktop(I work off it so its always on but more windows open = more confusion)
Granted no extra funds for the 149.95 pack even if it with Pi right at moment but maybe soon...hehe

Oh yeah I'm a freelance PHP developer...this isn't OScommerce but seems similar what cart system you using?

Just wanna give a shout out to Maidak on http://bitcoinminerz.com/

I ordered the PI and one of the anker hubs (not noticing they were 3.0)

almost immediately I got an email from customer support saying the anker hubs they had were not compatible with the Pi. Did I know and did I want him to process the order anyway?  Then I get a chat window on the page I was still logged into on the site and it is Maidak wanting to know if I was sure in my order.  I thought it over and instead took 2 Dlinks for less then the anker (getting 3 more usable mining ports).  He then offered me the difference back in BTC and I was so happy with the support I just told him to keep it.  No the difference wasn't a deal breaker but hell after an experience like that I will be going back for more later.

Thanks Maidak, shit like that makes people happy and you money.. keep up the good work.

From what I was told 250 units are going to be shipped out wed but how they are going to be distributed is still undecided they may send a % of orders to each group buy runner. If they do this I will ship the units in the order the payment was received. Another possible method they may do is sending the units in the order they received the payment for the group buy. Which I can say with confidence I was one of the first people to send my payment so I believe either way I will get some units shipped to me. I should know more by tomorrow on how this is going to work out.

8 more pre order units have been added that need to be sold asap! out of the 14 currently 6 are on reserve so that leaves 8 units left to purchase.

Are there any provisions for refunds (partial or full) or any planned compensation for the delay? That was a pretty gnarly diff jump this morning and these don't seem to be moving.

We've gone several days without a substantial update and I'd like to know where things stand. I still believe my questions to be both fair and legitimate and I'd still like some answers. In another group buy thread Beastlymac posted the following

We are working on some kind of way to compensate people for the delays.

And I'd like to know if anything has been communicated to those organizing the Group Buys, and since I participated in this GB I decided to direct my questions here.

These group bys are reseller threads that are authorized by the product company so any compensation from main should be passed down.  But until beastly sets something up which would be posted in main thread there wont be anything to know here.  Basically follow this and the product thread and you pretty much have all the info you are gonna get :-)

If Production is able to start at full speed they can produce 400ish a day meaning if they start tomorrow group by coordinators might have by end of this week and then be reshipping to us.  This is best case of course.

Any new updates on this yet for us?

Production started today and the shipping should be happening this week or early next week they produced 200 units today and plan for 400 tomorrow. Until 1800 is reached then they will be shipping to me.

On another note I have added a special bitcoin price on the store for the last remaining 21 extra units I have plans to sell of 0.7 BTC per unit ordered here http://bitcoinminerz.com/Products/Bitcoin-miners/Blue-Fury-USB I only have 21 units of my own left to sell. This price adjustment is due to the increase in BTC recently.

I WENT to your site and the sticks are listed at 139.99 yet this thread has 129.99 in more then one spot.

I also typed in your discount code BTC5OFF and it does not work.

So what do you want for a paypal price.
139.99 or
 129.99 or
139.99 - 5% off = 132.99

This is exactly what happend I am currently dealing with the fraud risk management department with paypal. I have however corrected it to where I can at least receive payments, but the company labeled me as a e-currency dealer/exchanger Which is not what I am doing I'm just selling the hardware. This is with the paypal compliance department. I have to fax them a notarized document explaining my business model.

As for the fraud department, they are very very weary about the $13k+ USD that has gone into the paypal and out of it. They do not approve of the "pre-order" business model if I want to continue using Paypal in a future group buy I will need to look into getting a small business loan since all funds now going into my paypal are on reserve until products have been shipped.

I did not think I had this many hoops to jump through to run a group buy but it has been quite hectic I do thank you guys for holding your orders and supporting me in this and for your patience. Absolute worse case senario I drop paypal as a payment processor and I add direct credit card processing on bitcoinminerz.com to still give it a ease of payment for the guys who can't acquire bitcoins as easily.

For the direct card processing Not sure what cart system that is but I'm sure authorize.net should have a payment module for it as they do most major ecommerce system out there.  Most any of these will require a merchant account and all that jazz though just FYI.

I would like to order one does it plug n play to Bitminter java client?  If not why?

I have to say these sticks are nice looking and I could sell them like hotcakes on ebay.

The roll out has been really bad on these.

AM sold close to 1/2 million usb sticks.  this is such a perfect upgrade I just don't understand why they are not being pushed correctly.

The roll out has been really bad on these.

AM sold close to 1/2 million usb sticks.  this is such a perfect upgrade I just don't understand why they are not being pushed correctly.
DrHaribo is currently working on incorporating it right now. I had a chat with him a couple of days ago and he is making good headway. In regards to the roll out yes I agree it was a bumpy ride but we have learnt a lot for the future!

I know you're busy packing but when you get time, did you get your entire allotment? Or, if not, when do you expect to receive the remainder? (Since I doubt I'm in the early group.)

:'( no tracking number.

Dont worry your close in line you'll see tracking today after i'm off work or tomorrow when the second half of my shipment arrives. Its scheduled for thursday by the end of the day. Just dropped off the first half of the units as for compensation from the manufacturer how I will be handling this is a secondary thread after your package has arrived you will be using your tracking number to confirm the amount of units and btc that will be sent to you. This will be after all units are shipped so you guys who have units on the way keep ahold of your tracking number. Also if you paid a price of $129 each or less per unit you will not be eligible for the manufacturer discount. This is because your wait in line with the pre order was far less then the others who paid a higher premium. Hence why the price was reduced essentially it was included into the pricing structure.

Yeah there needs to be some firmware tweaks or something with them. I tested only a handful of my own units for a hour I had them going at about 2.3 - 2.45 out of the 10 I tested on win 7 with bfgminer took alot of toying around to get it to work with the asicminer usbs as well.

All i'm asking for is the tracking number I send to you, the amount of units you purchased, your bitcoin address you want the refund to be sent to and if you want your bitcointalk.org username not the bitcoin address you used to send the payment. ;) haha i'll clarify it in the thread.

If you used PP then you probably order through his site and should have an account and all thus what message/thank you were u expecting?  PMs and email depends on how long you gave him(and probably what email you sent to).  Especially considering right now he is concentrated on his main work plus getting these out as he gets them and trying to organize the refund for those that ordered before price drops.

Basically not every pre-order etc is BFL so people relax :-)

Try hitting the reset button on it does it show in device manager? I had to disable and enable in device manager to get it to show up.

(Hit the rest button, still no go)

New error now, the BF is showing on COM11. And now windows is bitching at me that I do not have access to open COM11 O.o

*edit again* anyone have this working on win7 with bfgminer yet? If so can ya share your command line? Everything I've tried so far isn't yielding any results lol

Ran mine in cgminer 3.7.1 couple hours and bfgminer 3.5.1 so far bout 4 hours today both seem about the same hashrate and submitted share wise but I see more HW errors in bfgminer a lot more as in cgminer had none in 2 hours bfgminer at 4 is sitting over 200 hw errors.

In both getting basically 2.25 ish report in miner and about same on pool side.

Been running this 1 unti on my main PC separate from my BEs because of all the issues I saw wanted to make sure it worked here alone first :-)

Any tips for getting these babies working with a Rpi working with my Jalapeno's and BE's. Cgminer or Bfgminer. Can I stick em in the same hub with BE's. Maybe someone post a setup guide?

Got mine today and am currently hashing away on a win7 machine for a test before I put it on a Raspi.

I used this BFgMiner
http://www.mediafire.com/download/819me4zvdju8lyg/bfgminerWin.zip

Install the driver inside the zip then edit the batch file.

bfgminer.exe -o http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u Username -p password -G -S "BF1:\\.\COM4"

Change url to what ever pool you have and find the Com port windows assigned to it and that was it. :D

I need help.

Mac OSX, cgminer 3.7.2

./cgminer -n
 [2013-11-08 21:43:59] CL Platform 0 vendor: Apple
 [2013-11-08 21:43:59] CL Platform 0 name: Apple

So looks good so far, but when I run ./cgminer -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u name -p pwd I get:
[2013-11-08 21:41:07] bitfury detect (253:12) failed to initialise (incorrect device?)

Any help would be highly appreciated.

don't you need to specify the COM port?  Not familiar with Mac myself, but on Windows it is needed.  Something like this:

-S //./COM5

and also is there a cgminer_no_gpu file you can run?  that's what I use for asic miners
