I think it will be a long journey for Mr Zuckerberg to build his own Crypto. He lives in centralization era. Facebook is the main social media which centralized everything. It will hard to him to adopt the crypto world.

Cryptocurrency has been created in such a way, how one can play and control his movements, requires careful analysis to overcome them. Most likely this would be the case on which he would decide to engage into crypto thing. Either he would decide to adopt bitcoin into its service or would create his own token which would be named to facebook itself. Yes those are actually great news, and things would look very promising if Facebook decided to integrate an existing crypto into their platform, to be used as a form of payment. I don't think they will do that, or maybe they will, but they will not stay there. Creating their own crypto is probably very appealing to them, as it would generate a lot of profit for their business. I guess that the only coin that would not enjoy this would be steem, as it would probably mean game over for them.

I am really surprised that Facebook haven’t created its own currency yet. At the time when all who just desire are producing coins, ICOs and such kind of stuff, in such circumstances it is reasonable thing to be in the trend.

I doubt it would be bitcoin though, but prob. one of the other higher MCAP and more advanced later generation altcoins that can offer low fees + quick transactions.
I think perhaps Stellar, or even Litecoin would be a possibility if he so chooses to adopt an existing coin.

Probably the explanation is because he wasn't so sure the crypto world would actually boom, and anyway he doesn't need more money so why risk? He took his time to see how the people and the market reacted to this new economy before putting some real money in it.

Well I hope FACEBOOK will do something at last for it's users. It has made billions of dollars yearly in ad revenues but has not shared a penny of it as an incentive to it's users. If I were Zuckerberg I would make a coin and share a percentage of it for it's users as an incentive and as a reward. Facebook is earning money because it is centralized. if they make it decentralized it is like shooting themselves in the foot and putting an end to their control and money making.

Well, these news! i'm getting familiar to hear about the biggest social networks such as Facebook, Telegram,Sola and other networks that dreams about crypto! No one can stop himself from being attached to cryptos and thats the best part! Peoples wants a piece of crypto earnings! They doesn't want to change the whole system, they only want to earn. They might have their bad effect when things start getting REAL!

They really have a leg up to introduce earning based currency into their site as well as use it as an opportunity to clean up the junk that circulates there. If they went with just pure monetary gains then rewarding FB users with tokens based on community interaction and usage would be SO easy for them. That would sink the claws in deeper. If they wanted to take a two step approach they could tie that accumulation of tokens to the quality of user's posts and introduce things like downvoting. Now that I think about it though, the FB community wouldn't do well with that because if someone posted an opinion contrary to yours then they would just aimlessly downvote instead of having an intelligent conversation about it lol. NM Facebook is a lost cause.

I think draws to communities like this and reddit is the quality of interaction you get with people. Reputation and quality based communities I think are going to have more appeal over the coming years as people get tired of the garbage they have to scroll through on FB.

Look at Telegram they have raised over $850 Million dollars for a project that is not going to innovate anything and is going to heavily centralize their coins with no limit on inflation. Facebook is doing fine the way it is, there's no need to implement a cryptocurrency into the platform.  This could possibly be a bad strategic move on his end.  Anything involving cryptocurrencies is a breeding place for scams.  If scams gets flooded on Facebook, it will lose it's members.  Facebook is making more than enough money from the ads, no reason to dip into this market.

Lol. That does not explain it at all. Facebook mentioned the reason why they decided to stop cryptocurrency adverts which is basically because they do not have a system in play that can fish in a bad product or project from a good one and they are responsible for their targeted users who have ended up trusting in some of the ads and investing in a scam project.

So, they had to do that until further notice, and entering the crypto space by Facebook, really does not have anything to do with competition or advert. FB often bans even simple ads without any reasoning. So crypto banning doesn't surprise me at all.
There's much rumour about telegram ICO. Durov hasn't announced it yet. But there are many scam ICOs already who pretend to be official telegram ICO.

I think it will be easy for him most especially he is very intellectual in this kind of things and also he has many intelligent employees that can help him with this kind of industry. He will gain more participants since he has the most widely used social media app in the world right now and i think it will never be replaced.

Yeah, he will have an easy access to be into cryptocurreny because of course of his background. Well we all know that he created facebook, and almost all people around the world have an account on it. I think it will be good on his part. Mark"s intention to wanna get into crypto isn't a new thing as he made the statement on New Year as it is his custom of doing so yearly.


He profits from centralization so building decentralized ecosystem could be tough on him. He can't build a token which will b the fuel of his baby FB,  because crypto is volatile.

I am sure having looked around and see how the crypto space has been doing over the years; he would not want to come late into the show when some who do not have a working product before the ICO stage could be doing something for themselves now, how much more for Facebook with a working platform. Who cares if Facebook gets into crypto. They will just see it as an opportunity to track people more. Of course then they will realize that the blockchain is public and they will have a hard time selling public info. So they will look into blockchain, realize it actually messes up their centralized privacy-destroying business model and maybe come out with some stupid idea that will net them tons of investment dollars and actually be worthless. I have about 0% hope that facebook is even capable of doing anything positive for society at this point.

We can well remember in the past that Facebook have banned adverts promoting cryptocurrency. Not really surprised that he went ahead and banned ICO advertising before announcing this. Very strategic, yet kind of shady. So it looks like this year we may get the Telegram ICO and the Facebook ICO? Those are 2 you certainly don't want to miss.

The banning od ads never happens at all, i continuously see ADS of different ICO while browsing at facebook, there are known companies who are having or making signs of going into having an ICO like KODAK and Telegram, we might see more int he list soon.

It looks facebook is still not banning any ico banners. But honestly i was never seeing again some banners that promoting a scam project just like ponzi and other project created by scammers.

they most probably banned cryptocurrency related advertisement on their platform because they wanted to eliminate the "competition" of shitcoins with their centralized shitcoin which they will probably create in the near future and push on to all their users on their crappy platform.

It's just a normal thing :). For now Facebook is still a good place to promote ICO project and Mark is still supporting for it and at the moment to own a cryptocurrency is not difficult so it's very easy for Mark Zuckerberg to have his own cryptocurrency and make it become a big one cause he's having one out the best place to promote cryptocurrency already.
