Post by: Radientgurkin on February 18, 2018, 03:04:53 PM Im Jr. Member now and i have no idea how to get merits for me to become Member. What to do ? Hello. I'm not an expert, but this is what I think: Your are automatically given a few merits (to giveaway). These you can give away to whomever. I understand there's no point in hoarding these as you get more eventually and also your stack has a max size. The merits shown in the forum are given by other members. This is done by clicking merit on the right side of the page. Title: Re: How to get merits? Post by: onnz423 on February 18, 2018, 03:08:57 PM You gain merit by producing high quality posts that contribute to the forum, or by producing posts that appeal to particular members enough to warrant meriting. I would suggest writing up some posts that add genuine value to the community, tutorials for difficult topics, threads that stimulate productive discussion and perhaps even writing some reviews of new ICOs or funds in the pipeline.

If you think your posts should be credited with a merit then have them reviewed by higher users with sendable merits (couple of threads are compiled below thanks to krish's post). More of them can be found on the Meta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0) section. I will update here the threads where senior members are helping the new members to earn some merits for quality post. 1) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2825523.0 Created on January 26 - will last for a week. 2) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2828412.0 Created on January 26 - is open 3) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2819141.0 Created on January 25 - is open 4) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827596.msg28975211#msg28975211 Created on January 26 - is open Only for Full members, Sr. Members and Hero Members 5) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2850321.msg29237739#msg29237739 6) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2843413.0 This is my own giveaway. Chances of getting merits in the Meta section is high because it's one of the places where threads are frequently viewed by higher/older members. Title: Re: How to get merits? If youre not popular then you dont have merit. Or if you get, you should wait for long time.

Title: Re: How to get merits? Post by: TheGreatUnknown on February 18, 2018, 03:17:34 PM You can get merits by creating a quality post, in a way I also hoping to get some merits so I can rank up but It's hard to get notice, I mean I've been trying my best to give the best answer I can give and a well researched answer but still I can't get "0" merits so I'm also waiting for some good higher members who can check my post and maybe try to reward it with some merits if I satisfied and convince that I deserved it.
Title: Re: How to get merits? Post by: greeklogos on February 18, 2018, 03:25:29 PM You can listen all of those who recommend you to make quality posts. But the actual situation is so, that sMerit holders decide themselfes to whom to give sMerits. You need 10 merits to raise up, I really hope that you will meet a user who will help you just giving you enough sMerits just for one of your posts. Good luck!

Post by: btcsmlcmnr on April 21, 2018, 01:23:25 AM First of all, posting a thread on how to get merits is one sure fire way to hinder your progress. I personally wouldn't give merit to somebody that I know is only posting to receive merit. Merit is only donated to those who deserve it, by virtue of their character, or content of their posts, rather than their will to receive merit Agree with you, guy. There are bunches of available topics on merits, so newbies don't need to start new topics, which are likely spamming ones, to ask for how to earn merits, etc. There are several useful topics on merit system and basic rules of the bitcointalk forum: TMAN's guide to getting merits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3182178.0) Full Member thanks to merit system (iasenko) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3174862.0) List of threads giving away merits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3048258.0) Newbies – Read before posting (Lauda) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0) Title: Re: How to get merits? Title: Re: How to get merits? Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on April 21, 2018, 02:48:49 AM The most important thing which members can get by joining the forum is getting knowledge, experience, help from knowledgeable, experienced, skilled users for free. I joined up bitcoin to gain knowledge and profit, the profit experience and we also get knowledge increasing day by day, bitcoin is a key to better life and more knowledge and experience and 200 characters. minimum.Merits should not be main objectives for joining the place. Template of a total shitpost: My opinion if we follow many bounty campaigns or signature campaigns. We will increase our rank and minimum junior member actually in the forum we can see many bounties that we can follow. Beside that we must work hard. Or this:Yes following some instructions or some regulations will helpful you to get some profits so you can make it simple and do it simple and make it simple money is not our life but life needs some money that’s all. So tbct_mt2, your post says nothing about how to get merits, and I would add that posts like the ones I've quoted will never, ever get them, nor would many of yours. People really should take note of what I'm saying here so that they won't be stumbling around the forum, perplexed, wondering why they're doing all of this great posting but aren't getting merits. If you use a cookie-cutter approach like the above two jokers did, you'll never have a clue. Title: Re: How to get merits? I know exactly how you feel about the merit system; we tend to get frustrated because I think we have put effort/s in our post, but still no merit/s given. In my case, research and helping people can benefit you to start earning merit. Your topic or reply should be clear and concise; at least you know the difference between this and these. You can also try exploring the forum because sometimes people tend to ask something, which has an obvious answer. ;) You can also check your local board, explaining your side or your idea with your own language can bring the good in you, and moderators are merit source. Well, from bottom of my heart, I was so excited to see one merit in my account this morning and I thought that my merit was counted automatically by forum's system. When I read your respond, I am quite disappointed to know that it's yours, not by the system. Because it means that the merit system haven't counted user's meaningful posts and merits are given manually my human with higher rank? :o Best regards Title: Re: How to get merits? Post by: Jet Cash on April 22, 2018, 09:09:03 AM Rank has nothing to do with it. Also the merit 'system' is a community based system, and not a software generated reward. The merit wasn't really for tht individual post, but becuse I read a number of your posts. I'm sure that if you continue to make good quality posts then the community will reward you. I'm not sure why you are disappointed to discover that I was the one to award you with merit, I'm one of the community, so you should consider it as a community recognition of your posting, rather than my personal decision.
