Post by: TheBitMan on July 17, 2011, 11:39:32 PM
Updated site to double entries! No jackpot so payouts are faster. Ends after 48 hours of inactivity.

I see this http://blockexplorer.com/address/1M4GdHx4YX27DNDQKnY7xNovx9xwHwAyYB

It says unknown address in Bitcoin so how do I know which one is yours?

Any of the addresses should return back to the sender as long as he or she was using the bitcoin client and not an online wallet.  This occurs because the received coins are not all in the same address so its sent in from multiple addresses.

Any "from" address for a transaction would work for sending payments back to the sender's wallet, and senders can't choose what inputs to use, so... I have no idea what kind of "known" address you are looking for.

Do you guys know why more than 1 address shows up? And is it ok for me to send back to those addresses?

EDIT: nevermind I understand lol.

Bitcoin likes to mix things up. Like the way the transaction you sent being split into two parts, with some bitcoins sent back to your own wallet...

...these games usually bring out some questions about things like that. :)

6 more days, people!  You know how these things work.  They pay out good for a while, then start to slow down, then the last poor suckers lose their cash.

We are still in the "pay out good" part of the cycle!  Get in. Make some $$$$$

Then, we start all over again!

Blockexplorer isn't completely accurate for entry time, just means that the 1.2 was confirmed before the 0.5.  If he was at the computer it could have come across to the client before the 0.5 deposit.

Well, it was more that it wasn't entered into the table at all, which was being updated at the time I looked in. But I see the error has been acknowledged, and since the address appeared in an outgoing transaction just before I guess it was easy to overlook and an honest mistake... :)

OK... you were sent 1.2BTC from the address 1JVhf8zqxrYiKogeHs5kp57rTgtdDiC3hB. There is no deposit of 1.2BTC entered into the game. You simply claimed that you missed it and did nothing more about it.

And, for the sake of honesty, I have to admit that I for some reason decided to not mention that it was one of my deposits, entered from one of two different wallets... maybe I was in some sort of devious asshole mood that made me curious to see how you would respond if not directly confronted by someone claiming to own that transaction... and I'm a bit sorry about that. :)

Still missing a bit here... I first sent 1BTC from that address, I got 1.68 back and then decided to redeposit 1.2 of that - which in turn became the missing transaction. So, I'm out 1.2 coins, which I assume got added to the pot and paid out to others since my address wasn't entered into the pyramid the second time.

I guess a refund of 1.2 sent to original address would be fine, since entering it into the pyramid now would skew the distribution for other players. But no need to rush it. :)

I think you should refund me out of your own pocket rather than out of the pot, as that would be unfair for future players.

Since it wasn't put in line my deposit became a bonus to other players at my expense, but I think the most honest way to correct the mistake would be with non-pyramid funds. So when I get refunded it would mean that, by extension, you would be the one who entered the 1.2BTC bonus into the pot.

But I won't push this any further now. Maybe someone else has an opinion on what would be most fair? :)

If your entry was never put on the board but the funds were used to pay other people out.... you should get a refund of the 1.2 from the guy hosting it if he is not going to put your entry on the board.  Or he puts it on the board wherever it should have been and goes from there.

You guys think a "high roller" pyramid would be good? or do you think it would take away from the current one..

It would be 5 BTC to 10 BTC maybe??

Title: Re: MultiplyMyBTC.com - 1.7 X Your Entry Pyramid Game
Post by: macharborguy on July 20, 2011, 06:37:30 PM
Honestly, it's not about high roller or small amounts, but rather its more about the possible bid ranges.

0.5 to 1, is only a difference of half a BitCoin

5 to 10 is a difference of 5 BitCoins.

what I mean to say is that with these types of games/pyramids, people bid if they believe there is a good chance of making something back (sometimes).

With bids like 5 - 10, once people start bidding 10, no one will bid anything lower than, because it slows down the whole chain overall, and then what would be point of even having anything other than 10 as a bid value?

Games like BidCoin work for larger bid ranges because you aren't waiting in a line.  BidCoin has a random number generator.  Even wins, odd loses, and a roll of 500 wins the jackpot.  You're not exactly waiting for anyone else.

but in the end it's all still a gamble.

bs, I entered bitcatch probably a week ago or something and haven't gotten my money back, I entered this and got payed the next day with a much higher rate.

Why is that? I don't have two rounds at a time...that takes away from the action on the other round
I played it a long time ago more than a week and still haven't been paid..
I also multiply mine by more...please don't advertise on my thread especially if my site is better.
Lol, u telling me not to advertise when you are doing the same?

Any specific reasons why you think Bitcatch is better?

I personally like the longer rounds... I would love to see a site that does an infant amount round. And just have incentives to keep it going to different levels and stuff, so the only reason that you wouldn't get your money back is if the site no longer exists... But if it's infant, then I'll get my BTC's back and it keeps going.

Like..

Just one round.. and the intensives will be:

1.) Whoever posts the most in a 24 hour period get's a reward of 0.5 BTC's (Or whatever you see fit)
2.) Be the FIRST to deposit on xx/xx/xxx date.
3.) Be the LAST to deposit on xx/xx/xxx date.

That will keep the ball rolling.. Ya know?

I really like how TheBitMan is very active on the forums, and is open to ideas... This will make his site better.

my question is this: was the 1.2 BTC eventually entered into the game?  or was not not entered at all?  Not asking about when it was entered, just if it was or not.

My main problem with yours is that it's manual.

Wow, It's manual?? Yeah... Time to get with the times and automate it dooder.

Come one, you put your links all over King of the Mountain and Bitcat.ch threads
It's not ok to do that, then tell people not to do it on yours.

My main problem with yours is that it's manual. There were mistakes that you have made, and I don't want something to go wrong with my deposit and have to fix it with you. I don't have the time
I have done that but I no longer do that I don't have a problem with it but don't say his is better..never said that on his

I don't say my site is better..not unless I get pissed off, Bitcatch is better in the fact that it is automatic but there are actually less steps to enter for mine and you get paid back faster as the comments prove. I use to post my site in a few thread but no longer do that..

Rules updated: http://www.multiplymybtc.com/rules.html

Also I will be thinking about doing the "who enters the most" gets a prize. Thanks for the idea..although I like multiple rounds.
To track who enters the most would be difficult because blockexplorer changes the addresses or gives more than 1

That's the client's doing cause when sending it grabs a random key from the keypool.

from the looks of it, the way other places handle knowing "who's who" is to give each person a dedicated address to send to and ask for a payment address to be entered.  This way, no matter what address a payment comes from, as long as it goes to the dedicated one, any payouts will be sent to the "payment address" of the user.

I will refund out of my own pocket but I am not sure how long it will take me to get that amount..shouldn't be to long though

I think that the duration of the round I was trying to enter into would be a reasonable time frame for the refund as well.
I will not be getting my own BTC back for a while..But when I do I will pay you back 1.5 instead...

Still not understanding.  Was "anodyne"s 1.2BTC entered into the game or not?  If it was, and it is the ONLY 1.2 that is listed on the page, he already got his winnings thru the natural course of the game.  Am I wrong with this assumption?

What happen was he entered twice. Once with the 1.2 which I put in the pot but never sent him his winnings. Then he etnered again, with a different amount, I believe he got that paid back. The 1.2 you see is someone else.

you would have to have some kind of automated system where you can list the transactions by a specified acc.

Title: Re: MultiplyMyBTC.com - 1.7 X Your Entry Pyramid Game
Post by: anodyne on July 22, 2011, 07:32:17 PM
Okay, to summarize: I entered 1BTC and got 1.68 back. Shortly after that I entered again with 1.2BTC, which is the first transaction with that amount on blockexplorer.

What happened then is that the money got into the pot, but my address never got on the game table that second time (would most likely have been somewhere at line 6 to 8 ).

It would have been multiplied by now if it had been entered, but since I couldn't know that would when I entered I'm asking for a refund of only the initial amount to be sent back to address 1JVhf8zqxrYiKogeHs5kp57rTgtdDiC3hB. I'm still waiting for that to happen.

in all fairness to those currently playing, could you add on an amount of time equal to the time it has taken you to deal with this issue.  So if you spent an hour dealing with this, bump the game up an extra hour.  If 2 hours, add 2, etc.

Thebitman, You said he got your Paypal, and you got it back....but if you had your credit cards/bank account attached to PP, you should contact them immediately to stop payment until you know if he took anything.

Whether I get the domain back or not we will be back! I have some new ideas to announce anyway

When the site is back up (most likely Monday)

New logo

Last entered gets the jackpot

And anyone already entered will be added to the next round

Rounds last 5 days each Monday through Friday

Saturday and Sunday will be for high rollers minimum 3  maximum 5 BTC (jackpot also)

Normal rounds from now on have a minimum of .25 and a maximum of 3

Also I am no longer taking a percent of the entry so if someone entered

OLD WAY
3.00 BTC I would make 0.06 BTC

Now I would make 0.02 BTC off of that same amount, it helps the pot and the jackpot out a lot more.

I now take 0.02 BTC from all entries.

Quote from: from site rules
You don't get your BTC back if the pot can't pay out your amount by the time the clock runs out.

That would be the way you would expect this to work. If people who entered into the previous round gets carried over it would mean that the "new" round is not a new round at all but a trick to get more people to enter the same pyramid.

You wouldnt want to enter and lose what you entered do to a hack. Just enter things are working well right now. Remember a round is a whe 5 days thats a lot of time to be paid back

We want everyone to have a chance, including the players from the last round to get their payout. And we enter at times we think are profitable. So you misled us, and we wouldn't have entered at this time if we knew the facts. I still want to play... but not if I willl be in 10th place(in this round).
I will put the last round entries last and all who entered from the start of round 2 until now will be before them. Sorry, I did not mean to mislead anyone.

But I'm asking why all the new deposits aren't in the pot. The orange entries equal 6.06 btc (after fees and jackpot) and including the grey ones from last round, it's more than 13btc. Why don't you have that much in the pot? There are 17 entries and only  four that were paid out. That's not right.
There are only 8 entries in this round so far. If you want me to show you the client I will.

Round 3 will most likely be the best round. Due to the whole carrying over thing in this round. Although we do have a jackpot now!
Does anyone think I should change the min or max?

Well, Bitcat.ch has it at 1.1, which is very low, but that means tons of people get paid. King of the Mountain, and others do 1.5, which is good. I think my favorite is 1.4btc. I played one at 1.4 and it seemed just right. I suggest 1.4 :)
Was just thinking that lol. Like what you said, mine is kind of long but Bitcatch you barely get anything back..

Yea, I like Bitcat.ch because it is automated and everything is quick and easy, but it is very low payout. I think he is just doing it to make money (more deposits=more fees). I will still play, but i'd rather play another one with higher payouts. On the other hand, I know that a ton of people will play in bitcat.ch, so I can play a lot more money, and most likely get more back.

This pyramid is the real deal :) made alot of bitcoins from it, though i think you should change the color of the timer because it's showing up as white text, and blends too well into the background xD

King of the mountain is automated and is 1.7 X.  Still a few days left: http://bitcoinsurf.net/kingofthemountain/

People come in at the end and try to get the remaining pot (last bet gets the pot)
Don't advertise here please, I posted there once and that was it.

I know what a domain suffix is.... I have been on the internet before.

The meaning behind my last post was meant to imply what does having a domain mean?  As in why is that such a special thing?  It costs maybe $10/year to get the domain, and if you're like me and already have a web host, then it's free to add another domain onto it.

That, the coloring, and one of the addresses having a space at the start are what bother me.

Round 3 changes

Now using tables  ;D
Min: .25 BTC
Max: 2.00 BTC
Will multiply by 1.4 instead of 1.7 so more people get paid out.
Different timer that everyone can see
New adddress
Round 3 strarts 1:00 PM EST Friday

Also, for people who want to do the time zone conversion, it's not currently EST, rather it's EDT. A month ago several pyramid runners made this mistake and had many people in Europe confused.

So the starting time is 5:00 PM (17:00) UTC

I'm from east coast of the US that's what we call it here but I used the conversion to military time and it says 13:00 not 17:00
From now on I will use military time, sorry to confuse people. Also what is the best time to start a round for you guys?

That discussion will never be over.
The best thing I could think of would be to maybe do a poll and see what the best time would be.
Local would need to be by UTC ( http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx ).
Poll would be:
12:01AM,
6AM,
10AM,
12:01PM,
6PM,
10PM

See what the most popular time would be.

I'm from the east coast as well. It's currently daylight savings time, so the timezone is ED(aylight)T which ends up offsetting the time by one hour from EST. So anyone converting the time you gave would be off by one.

Also, UTC is not eastern time zone, it's a universal time zone that everyone uses and then offsets by. So the game would start at 17:00 or 5:00PM UTC, not 13:00.

Title: Re: MultiplyMyBTC.com - 1.4 X Your Entry Pyramid Game - Round 3 Starts Soon!
Post by: adalov on July 29, 2011, 04:16:05 PM
No. It is a time zone just like EDT and PDT. It doesn't change due to daylight savings or anything else. It's just used as a standard time zone. You can express it with AM/PM or a 24 hour system, it doesn't matter.

Edit: You should change the time on the site to say 17:00 UTC :)  Otherwise it's like saying get me 2 water without specifying if you wanted cups, liters, etc.

No way is going to be exact due to the way bitcoin works. I might be closer to him in the network (maybe even connected), so my transaction could appear before someone that made a transaction before me. That being said, the client would be the closest way, but blockexplorer offers an easy way for everyone to verify it.

Yeah not your fault, a flaw in the system :P

You could maybe have it where they enter their address and then it'll make a time stamp of when it has 0 confirms (if you know how)

For those who like to jump to conclusion and see that there is 3 BTC in the pot and I have to pay out 2.744 to the next person, I take 0.02 BTC per entry and the jackpot is .02 BTC per entry. So if you ever want to know how much I make, I make what ever the jackpot value is at.

I said 3 BTC because that's how much is left after I sent the first wave of payments out.

What's up with the strange payout amounts?
I made two 1.00btc entrys and got payed out 1.334 for the first and 1.344 for the second.
Shouldn't both have been payed out 1.36 (1 * 1.4 - 0.02 commission - 0.02 jackpot = 1.36)?

He's taking 2%, not .02 BTC. That being said the 1.334 is underpaid by .01

I'm a little surprised he's not using a spreadsheet, as that would eliminate any hand calculation errors.

On the rules page it says:
Quote
The site takes a commission of 0.02 BTC of each entry.

The site then takes another 0.02 BTC for the jackpot.

Ah. Doing the math with percentages comes up correctly with some of his calculations, but you're correct, it shouldn't be so much.

I take the money out before so

1.00 - 0.04 = 0.96

1.96 * 1.4 = 1.344

I might be doing the math wrong, but shouldn't 1qAtywd9GPqc4rHEpi3NU6ZhsdpuHmMhd    have been paid?

It would be cool to have the current pot on the page, then we'd know how much more has to go in before we get paid.  Other ponzi's do this.

Thanks.

2 games I play used MyBitcoin.  Bitcoin Kamikaze and King Of The Mountain.  Both are down.  I hope the operators didn't have all their BTC in MyBitcoin, that would really suck for them.

It was a nice interface, and I didn't have to wait for confirmations like some other games.  Hopefully it will come back online and everyone can get their BTC out.

If so minimum would be .10 BTC and I would only take 0.02 BTC and put it towards the jackpot..

You da MAN!  I like that you added the "Available For Payout:". also.

I like this because:  Say I am next to get paid, but the round is ending in a few hours.  I can recoup part of my bet by betting again, enough to trigger a payout to myself.  The "Available For Payout:" helps me decide if it's worth it to do this, and how much to send.

Plus, I'm all for more transparency.

Thanks again, TheBitMan.

I think people will not enter as much if the jackpot is that low. Do you think I should lower the min entry and then more people would join??

Title: Re: 1.4x Pyramid Game - MultiplyMyBTC.com - (Round 3)
Post by: geek-trader on July 31, 2011, 11:52:21 PM
I think, in all multiply / ponzi games, the majority of people enter at the very beginning.

If you want more people to join, you need to get their entries up on the site ASAP, and pay them out right away, especially in the beginning.  The first 2 hours are critical.

Take, bitcat.ch, for example.  He gets a lot of people to re-enter because of the reasons I started above.  I know he's automated, and you do it by hand, but I think for those first few hours you need to be on top of it more.

I like the 1.4x you do (bitcat.ch's 1.2 is too low, in my opinion), and the minimum of .25 is good.  Maybe make the max 1.0.  Then some people would enter twice at 1 instead of once at 2.

Also, I would prefer you pay out exactly 1.4x.  So for a bet of 1, pay me back 1.4.  Take the fees / jackpot out of the money that goes in the pot.  That makes more sense to me, and makes the numbers more even.

So if I pay 1 BTC, you take 0.02 BTC for the jackpot, and 0.02 BTC for the game fee.  Put 0.96 in the pot, and mark my "Gets back" at 1.4.  Does that make sense?

You run a good game.  With a few tweaks, it could be a great game.
