Any suggestion guys? What crypto wallet should i get first? Is it depends on what crypto that im going to get?

yes it depends which cryptocurrency you want to get and from there you would know which wallet you will get. In my experience I start with bitcoin I'm pretty sure you know that bitcoin is the one we use to purchase other cryptocurrency.

Yes it depends from crypto. But some wallets can store multiple cryptos. You can use electrum or blockchain wallet for bitcoin.Then there are MyEtherWallet or MetaMask for ethereum and ERC20 tokens (omisego,augur, golem...). There are also Exodus, Coinomi, Jaxx... What crypto are you getting?

I'd get MEW along with a Ledger Nano S.. cold storage in crypto is a very important thing and might as well start out with good practices.. Most people who join here will want to do bounties/airdrops and MEW (MyEtherWallet) will allow you to do both..

MyEtherWallet - http://www.myetherwallet.com  - MAKE SURE you save it as a bookmark, the address is often a phishing scam..
Ledger Nano S - https://www.ledgerwallet.com/ - DO NOT order these from third party vendors (including Amazon).. they can be tampered with or completely fake or presetup in a way where they have the private key.. just don't do it.  When you buy a Nano, the 24 word phrase keys should be blank and the device should have you write them down.. no list of words already given or anything like that... this means someone else has the recovery for the private key and it shouldn't be used.

Bitcoin wallet can be anything compatible with Ledger Nano S.. they also have an app for NEO, XRP, and some others if you need individual support for some chains that arent ERC20 compatible..but be aware you can only have 5 apps on the Nano installed at the same time (although MEW with ERC20 will support 100s of tokens).

Yes, it depends on the cryptos you would like to buy, but it is hard to go wrong with crypto hardware wallets such as Trezor and Ledger Nano S. These are not cheap, but bring peace of mind and convenience.

Foe etherium based coins you have to create ethereum based wallets like myetherwallet. For NEO based wallets you have to create neo wallets like Neo tracker..

Yes, as mentioned by other members, it really depends on which cryptocurrency you would like to store, most cryptocurrencies have their own wallet in which you can save your own coins and you may simply install the one that you are interested in. However, if you would like to store some ERC20 tokens, then I would recommend you using MyEtherWallet which is a wallet that allows you to manage various ERC20 tokens at the same time.

blockchain wallet and mycelium are good wallets to store your bitcoin. For tokens specially erc20 tokens you cab use myetherwallet ,imtoken, and metamask

My main advice would be to be very careful, whatever you choose to buy or invest in. Always triple check the address your sending funds to, the websites you're on etc. So much scamming and hacking going on unfortunately.

For which crypto you need wallet?
If you want wallet for ether and erc20 tokens use trezor. Trezor is also supporting bitcoin and some other altcoins so I would suggest you to do research about trezor wallet. For every crypto one basic rule applies - every crypto has its own wallet.

To have the bitcoin you choose the desktop wallet or hardware wallet. Those are seems secured and not been hacked. Please follow the list of mine below.

1: Bitcoin core
2: Electrum
3: Multibit

If you are comfortable with the online wallet use Blockchain.info or Coinbase.

For having the tokens you have to choose the MyEtherWallet only. Other wallet would not support all the tokens. Expect this I suggest to use the Jaxx wallet have the altcoins on one wallet.

Lots of nice wallets but you can start and try in VIP bitcoin because its usage is easy and reliable

But for newbies, it's more preferable for you to use a hardware wallet such us trezor or ledger. For buying and trading you will need to make an account on exchanges that have coins that you want to buy. For storing and holding you coins I recommend you to use
Myetherwallet (offline version if you can) and Ledger Nano s. Those are good options for start.

Yep it all depends on what altcoin you are going to trade or store. But if you want a universal wallet, you can try jaxx or exodus.

For ETH, I have MEW and it's also good for ERC20 tokens. I also have a nano S where I can store various of altcoins but it's main use for me is to store my bitcoins offline.

Don't store too much money on exchanges, it's risky.

Most of the new people will always buy Bitcoin with their initial investment because in order to purchase any other altcoin we have to purchase Bitcoins firstly. You can always Google for Bitcoin wallet in order to store them.

I am not familiar with other cryptocurrencies so I'm only helping you on the case of bitcoin. It is always recommended by many that you use wallet where you have the private key to fully secure you hard-earned bitcoins. By that, no one (unwanted person) can access your wallet but you yourself alone (if you have not given it to someone else).

Thanks for that, very informative.  I set up MEW and it directed me to set MetaMask, can this still be used for the airdrops/bounties?

it depend on your budget and your goals . i cant suggest type of coin you should invest . but top 20 altcoin in CMC its quite good enough
and also possibly to increase . just stay with ANN thread coin you invest and keep looking their project .

you said it yourself, it is always depend on what you are holding but pretty basic to use and has common tokens these days is MEW, just always make sure that the coins you will transfer can be store on the right wallet.

myetherwallet is the web used to store tokens erc20. You may need it when you decide to join a bounty or airdrop program. You can also use it as a wallet for eth. myetherwallet is a very simple and very easy to understand web that you learn quickly  ;D

What is the  ERC20 tokens ?

I suggest you to spend your time sometimes to read different topics here in forum like in beginners and help or altcoins discussion because there's a lot of topics about how to do investing and how to create different wallets

it depends on the program you are going to follow, if you become a bounty campaign hunter as a friend-theme suggestion, you need an ETH / ERC20 address that is widely used by existing projects and if you want to invest in an altcoin project you should follow the project recommendation

It depends on you, whether which coins you want to buy because most of the people will start bitcoin and concerned Bitcoin wallet. It completely dependson you whether you are choosing BTC, ETH, NEO, XRP etc.

That is ERC20 tokens buddy not a coin. Except ethereum and tokens, I do not see the people anyone having other coins on myetherwallet. May I what is the meaning of 'type of coin you have mentioned above'

Erc20 tokens mate not a coin or altcoin.. Mostly if OP wants to hold coins he can hold it in a certain exchange or trading site if possible pick the most reputable one OP. Legder nano can only take so little coin so if you pick ledger you must have bulk deal on one's coin usually some coin Makers have their own wallet like blockchain.

Of course the first purse should be MyEtherWallet.com. It supports many different currencies based on Ether. There is not a bad purse Jaxx, it can be installed on your smartphone and always know what is happening on your accounts

I would suggest Jaxx, as it can be stored as bitcoin and other altcoins , which is very convenient for beginners, but not safe.
