Title: [ANN] Indigen (IDG) - Blockchain for the Indigenous
Post by: Indigen Foundation on February 19, 2018, 12:53:19 AM

INDIGEN (https://www.indigen.foundation/)
Blockchain for the Preservation of Indigenous Culture

About Indigen

The Indigen blockchain was designed with primary purpose of protecting the rights and property of the indigenous people who are usually the unintended victims of industrialization and globalization.

We are a group of developers, marketers, business people, artists, legal experts, and social activists from across the planet who recognize a sincere case for applying blockchain technology in preserving the indigenous culture through:

          ➤ Applying blockchain technology to promote sustainability and growth for underfunded — and in many cases — unacknowledged communities by solving an inherent problem prominent across the planet;

          ➤ Promoting ethics and good practice throughout the Indigen Ecosphere (economic sphere);

          ➤ Building positive relationships between indigenous people and government.

Our Mission

Our goals are not limited to the scope of this document — the future is unbounded. But in simple and general terms, our immediate purpose is:

          ➤ To preserve the heritage of indigenous cultures by creating an immutable storage of indigenous historical data on the blockchain;

          ➤ To encourage indigenous groups, charitable institutions, historians, anthropologists, universities, legal professionals, and cultural preservationists to donate their historical documentation for permanent record keeping on the blockchain;

          ➤ To create indices which are easily accessible to be studied and used as reference points for students and researchers;

          ➤ To promote constructive relationships between local governments and indigenous communities by offering a decentralized alternative to the current system of record keeping;

          ➤ To settle disputes over land ownership through an unbiased third party;

          ➤ To integrate blockchain into industries that will benefit from using our technology;

          ➤ To celebrate mankind’s diversity and to allow no culture to be forgotten.

The Problem

Tribal people (first people, natives, indigenous) or the original inhabitants have many names; they have over 4,000 languages and comprise approximately 5% of the world’s population. These people are the usual victims of human rights issues such as lack of protection of their indigenous lands, unsolved killings because of property disputes, and many other inherent problems including lack of communications due to very remote locations, environmental destruction and natural resource extraction due to industrialized global developments, lack of education and access to modern medical information, healthcare, and so on. But one of the most evident and compelling problems of all is the slowly dying interest of the younger generation in our indigenous culture and history because of fast-paced modernization.

Value Proposition

Our proposed solution is to bring convergence to history and modern technology in a unique and innovative approach. Protection of indigenous properties, preservation of historical data, works of art, language and religion, and many more unique and integral aspects constituting the indigenous culture and traditions, are just few of our many objectives for using blockchain technology as permanent and immutable method of preservation.

Majority of the indigenous population belongs to the poor and they account to around 15% of the world’s poorest, with the highest percentage coming from Southeast Asia. The goal of Indigen coin as a cryptocurrency is not entirely as medium of payment in a decentralized platform, but also as a means to uplift the lives of the poor indigenous population. With the rise of Bitcoin and other popular altcoins, Indigen coin will ultimately function as a donation currency where portion of the mined coins and mining fees will be used to help the poor in areas like education, medicine, and environmental protection.

Indigen ONE Project

The prime objective of the Indigen ONE Project is to become a single, unified platform for both Indigen merchants, their customers and Indigen coin users to conduct their day to day business.

Secondly, in order to purse the Indigen vision of preserving the indigenous culture using blockchain technology, Indigen ONE will serve as our staging platform for all our blockchain-related projects and community services, including:

⏣ Indigen Affiliate Program
⏣ Merchant Tools
⏣ Web Wallet
⏣ Mobile App
i.Mall for merchants to sell their products
i.PayGate for accepting Indigen coins as payment
i.Ledger for record keeping of indigenous data onto the Indigen blockchain
Indigen Foundation will pursue charity projects to help indigenous groups worldwide

The Indigen Portal will provide merchants and business owners useful online tools to aid in them their business operations for free in exchange for promoting the Indigen coin and giving various privileges to the indigenous people, especially those among the poor, such as discounts, giveaways, and other provisions that will benefit them in many ways. Some of the online business tool readily available for merchants are as follow:

⏣ Customer Loyalty Rewards Program (credit and redeem cash or reward points to and by Indigen users)
⏣ Customer Management System
⏣ Online POS for Product Ordering System
⏣ Stocks and Inventory Management System
⏣ Employee Management, Timekeeping and Payroll
⏣ Job Order Management for Accounts Receivables
⏣ and more to come in the future…

Centralized Mining

Indigen coins are exclusively mined from our central server. We decided not to release a desktop wallet and/or mining software to the public for security reasons and to prevent excessive dumping of IDG on the exchange by miners using powerful rigs.

Through this, we can control the distribution of mining rewards which we will divide into the following segments:

          ➤ 60% goes to maintenance of our infrastructure, marketing / affiliate program and operating expenses.

          ➤ 20% will go to charity projects for various indigenous people.

          ➤ 20% will be distributed among profit share holders and users of our mobile minting app.

Indigen Coin Specifications

Indigen will be based on the Proof-of-Work (PoW) protocol using CryptoNote, an ASIC-resistant algorithm, similar to Monero, and Bytecoin. This is will give fair opportunity to anyone who wants to mine Indigen coins using an ordinary computer at home. Monero has been a successful digital currency as we’ve seen in the last few years of its quick adoption in the mainstream cryptospace, so we will as much as possible align the Indigen blockchain with the same core specifications for economic and technical reasons.

     ⏣ Algorithm: Proof-of-Work (PoW) CryptoNote
     ⏣ Ticker Symbol: IDG
     ⏣ Maximum Supply: 17,000,000 IDG
     ⏣ Starting Supply: 1% to be used for development, marketing, token sale, referral and rewards program, giveaways, etc.
     ⏣ Block Rewards: smooth variation
     ⏣ Block Time: 60 seconds
     ⏣ Difficulty retargets at every block

Indigen (CryptoNote) Features

CryptoNote is an open-source technology that allows creation of completely anonymous egalitarian cryptocurrencies. Indigen was brought forth from the same philosophy that drives the principles of a secure, anonymous, private and equally distributed mining power of cryptocurrency. The concept of CryptoNote reflects well the agenda of Indigen to improve the lives of the oppressed indigenous people of the world.

" It is in our philosophy to encourage enlightenment through breakthrough innovations. Emancipation begins with laymen getting access to financial resources that will give the oppressed the hope for quality education, drinking water, and a better life. CryptoNote is not about creating yet another digital currency. It is the mindset and concepts that represent the first small step to regain the power over ourselves in order to live peacefully and prosper."

Untraceable Payments

CryptoNote provides users with a completely anonymous payment scheme. CryptoNote implements the ring signature technology which allows you to sign a message on behalf of a group. The signature only proves the message was created by someone from the group, but all the possible signers are indistinguishable from each other.

Unlinkable Transactions

Even if outgoing transactions are untraceable, everyone may still be able to see the payments you have received and thus determine your income. However, by using a variation of the Diffie-Hellman exchange protocol, a receiver has multiple unique one-time addresses derived from his single public key. After funds are sent to these addresses they can only be redeemed by the receiver; and it would be impossible to cross-link these payments.

Double-Spending Proof

Nobody is able to spend the same money twice — even if all his signatures are anonymous. Every signature contains a key image — a kind of fingerprint of the secret key. It is based on a one-way cryptographic function; this implies that given only the key image it is impossible to restore the corresponding secret key. These key images are used to prevent double-spending.

Blockchain-Analysis Resistance

Non-repeating one-time addresses and mixed keys in ring signatures make the whole blockchain resistant to analysis. Each future transaction will only increase the entropy and create additional obstacles for an analyst.

Egalitarian Proof of Work

The proof of work mechanism acts as a voting system. Thus, it is crucial that during the voting process all the participants have equal voting privileges. CryptoNote brings this equality with its egalitarian proof of work, utilizing built-in CPU instructions, which are very hard and too expensive to implement in special purpose devices, but perfectly suitable for ordinary PCs.

Adaptive Parameters

A decentralized payment system must not depend on a single person’s decisions, even if this person is a developer. CryptoNote has no hard-coded constants; magic numbers in the code are designed to be re-calculated based on the previous state of the network. Thus, they always change adaptively and independently, allowing the network to develop on its own.

For me, the idea is bad. nothing good in this), that is, you want to say that the miners did not sell coins with powerful installations. If you are so smart why then only you can control all the coins?

Aww people you have forgotten what is decentralization and independence and government give to people? I'm shocked when trying to create a system based on the blockchain centralized. Satoshi did not want this. What would any wise people create projects like ripple and continue to manage people.

The project caught my attention for being Cryptonight, but what story is this that mining should be done only by dev?
That does not give a future! What makes a currency grow and develop is its community. Real crypts have to be mineralized by everyone!

The idea of centralized mining pool and controlled rewards looks like communism :-)

Cryptocurrency should be decentralize as what everyone will be expected. Since IDG was centralize, it was easy to tag as SCAM.

I have read the whitepaper several times and still questioning myself the benefit of this project on indigenous people, of which is ultimately the mission of coin. Then there's the package in order to get some coin, but it can be mined (open source but mined centrally though) :D

This is the same pattern on MSD (MS Dollars) which claims to have their own mall, airlines, power, etc using affiliate system to market their coins.

There is no future for this project. Without new members to join the community, the project will not survive. A little sad they are involving those indigenous people as if Indigen blockchain will save their culture.

The new Gold Affiliate Program has been implemented. See www.indigen.one/affiliates for complete details.

The new Profit Shares for Gold affiliates is now 66 shares instead of 33. However, every Monday of the week, for 11 weeks, the number of shares will be deducted 3 shares until it goes back to the regular shares which is 33.

The profit shares of the sponsors is now back to 11 shares for every Gold referral.

Who said this is a scam project? Is it really true or not? Actually i just know about Indigen project. This thread has created on February 19, so if they provide an ICO or the like, I guess it has completely done. Anyone know about the current news related this project?
