In the past, these marketing camapigns would feature a holiday they were giving away if your bought the product and entered the codes. Now it's bitcoin.

Oh wow. I thought the craze was over after Bitcoin's mid-December love affair, but I guess it's fresh enough again now that it has actually started to rebound. That being said, their marketing team gets a 10/10 from me. I'm not the least bit interested about their product because I'm not a fan of juice, but I'd join the promo if I could lol. I hope this translates into better sales for them so more companies could jump on the bandwagon.

Lotteries is an interesting one. There was an Irish lottery that was offering 1000 BTC.

https://www.irishtimes.com/business/retail-and-services/bitcoin-lottery-launches-in-ireland-1.3331196

The uptake would have to be significant for them to consider something like that. I wonder what the figures are.

Is it true? I think it was already set up wherein there in no people who will win the lottery.
Giving incentives and lotteries to promote your goods and services is a helpful marketing style. It used by a firm to make his/her product more attractive than usual.

Yup - it's a chance for the juice people to get their product in front of nerd/tech types who normally wouldn't drink juice.

And it's free advertising for bitcoin. The more this happens, the more mainstream bitcoin will become.

It's a good tactic for businesses to introduce crypto to their consumers. It's also a possibility that they'll be implementing it as part of their payments and such, that people would know more about it. It's one way to spread crypto to others. Though, the only thing that might need consideration is the duration of their action, since if they'll be paying 4 BTC per person for product testing, they would need a big amount of coins. Hopefully this would continue.

quite cool actually, if they were to give bicycles, scooters, travel arrangements and regular stuff, it would be ten times more expensive. so, the gift one can won is good, and at this moment quite popular, and it's cheaper for the company. win win win :D

I agree that offering bitcoin as a prize is a great way to incentisize people to take part in a marketing scheme. For instance, Steam is offering bitcoin prizes to a person or a team winning its game challenge:

Hahaha this is such a epic trick, offer people the carrot and people will fall for it. Isn't it obvious the code shall never be out, whoever shall get it shall be one of the person closest, and one Bitcoin may be given to random person to keep it up. I yet can't believe people fall for such gimmicks and it's fun and sad they're using Bitcoins for this, though they're promoting it to lol.

That's a nice way to build their brand image for crypto fans and those who are always putting some money into lotteries. Few Australians can even get to know about Bitcoin when they purchase the drink. Soon instead of cash prices or having to win gold / silver coins, we'll be noticing the trend to offer free Bitcoin gift cards for purchase of certain units of products. I'm hoping that some Electronics giant provides a similar an offer since I'm already aware of cash gift cards being provided for making large purchases of electronic appliances.

Also, other possible marketing use cases would be to create a Bitcoin points card which could be redeemed to purchase crypto's or other gift cards after accumulating enough points on purchase of groceries and daily necessities.

It would be better if they create their own cryptocurrency instead of using bitcoin. But it is just about marketing so I don't expect such things in these industries.

Yes I agree that some businesses used bitcoin in their marketing strategy. One good example is what we our doing to this forum , the new company or product look for the campaign manager to hire bitcoin users. The users must carry the signature and avatar of the product or the company during posting constructive comments and topic through this the product are being introduce and being knowned. And for the price the users earning a profit coming from the campaign manager.

Seems like every sales will be surely sold out if we use that kind of strategy, wherein the company will be distributed Bitcoins to its buyers as a promotion. However, this needs a big budget but if the company do so, they must assure that they can also gain profit from it after all, which would suppose to be happen or really needs to happen. This is an effective way to gain the customers sympathy or best, loyalty but I feel disturb for not everyone knows how to manage it if they got it. Maybe it will be wasted if they don't have the knowledge about cryptocurrency.

maybe they think create their own coin is just wasting time, just like other project, but it depends on the concept of the project. if its good and the ICO sale are reaching at least softcap maybe the project still can continue but if its not, then all of their works will become useless.

so they make bitcoin as temporary handler as marketing strategy

What difference does it really make if they offer crypto, cash or some other reward? They all have an inherent 'fiat' value and could be transferred in to crypto if the winner wanted to do so. Likewise whoever wins the bitcoin will probably exchange them for fiat.

I think after this company there will be a lot of company all over the world will apply the same kind of promote to increase sale revenue of their company. LOL

Blockchain and bitcoin are both being heavily utilized as marketing gimmicks.

  • Atari's stock jumped 60% after it announced a blockchain based gaming console. They also announced they would issue their own crypto.
  • Kodak's stock jumped 245% after it announced plans to offer a blockchain based service to pay photographers.
  • Long Island Iced Tea's stock gained 183% after it rebranded its name to Long Blockchain Corp.

Yeah. Its definitely becoming a tactic to artificially balloon the value of entities in the private sector. Which in turn is producing a large bubble as many of these assets become overvalued almost identically to the ICO market.

Well, if blue chip companies and Wall Street can use Bitcoin and/or crypto for effective marketing, why shouldn't all these homegrown companies too, yeah? It'd be nice though, if those companies actually utilised blockchain in their games. I mean, people here from 2012 already could make lotteries with hash-based results, would be extra engagement qualities to these marketers if they did live blockchain-based draws.

Hmm. Maybe I should market these ideas back home.

There are more of these businesses that use bitcoin in their marketing promotions. They fly on the wings of bitcoin and profit from the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies. As bitcoin is still mysterious to the mainstream, it catches the attention of the customers. Bitcoin is sexy.

Bitcoin is a brand and it used widely by a range of companies. I heard the stories like the company change its name adding word bitcoin or blockchain and the sales grew significantly. It works really!

There is reason to think that this is true. Because bitcoin has made great strides in the past few years. Especially in 2017 with a huge price of $ 20000. Bitcoin has created a strong appeal to the media, agents, companies, unions.
Can refer to some retailers that accept payment by bitcoin.

That is really nice I don't really like they juice any way but since it attached to bitcoin I may get some in other to encourage them and other company to venture into such promo also using bitcoin. Bitcoin is an outstanding brand and any company link with it is band to make good sales and this type of promo is a good step both to bitcoin and to the company.

This is absolutely true, but it actually extends much more past that. If you want to understand exactly what I mean, take a look at this article on Kodak and the blockchain: https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/9/16869998/kodak-kodakcoin-blockchain-platform-ethereum-ledger-stock-price. As you can see, this acts not only with Bitcoin, but with the crypto and blockchain technologies in general. This just illustrates how the markets are driven by the masses not knowing anything about what they are doing and just blindly following the hype.

Like it or not, Bitcoin <Blockchain> is the buzz word in eCommerce lately. Every tech company are looking into Blockchain based technology. <not neccessarily Bitcoin>

Something that should happen is for merchants to promote Bitcoin by offering discounts for people who pay with bitcoins. You might ask why they should do that and the answer is simple : Bitcoin payments will reduce their Banking fees. When the Lightning network goes mainstream, most business will not even worry about fees and their customers will prefer to use Bitcoin, because their transactions could almost be free. ^smile^

Good marketing strategy buy I got to give it to the company as they are the real winners here as it persuades the contestants to buy more of their products in order to win 1 BTC. Also the thing I see here is it won't boost any new users of Bitcoin as people who will most likely join the contest are people who already know what Bitcoin is, and the game is about guessing the future price of Bitcoin which is really a hard one.  I won't be an effective tool on gaining new audiences in my opinion.

::) Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin can be used to buy things without a middleman, meaning there's less need for a bank. While the traditional banking system can charge high transaction fees, bitcoin can allow global transactions to take place at a lower cost. With these edge, it follows that Businesses specially those with website for online promotion & marketing services relies on using Bitcoin or any other Cryptocurrency in their marketing tactic.
::)  As what Bill Gates mentioned that " The future of money is digital currency ", it is therefore logical for businesses to integrate Bitcoin to capture the market of their goods and sevices offered at the same time rewarding their most valued clients.

That’s the beauty of Bitcoin as with its resurgence and with how a lot of people have been using this to intensify their efforts to know and probably invest more in it. Its a side effect of bitcoin that it might be used as a marketing strategy but that is not all, major corporations would be a fool not to look into this and thus it increases the perception and awareness that bitcoin currency has on the world

That is the main reason there are many companies start advertising that they are accepting Bitcoin, even people are also showing same interest towards spending their Bitcoins for products. They are gaining the popularity on behalf of Bitcoin-accepting.
