Title: Cannot send vtc from electrum wallet
Post by: Divinorium on February 19, 2018, 07:13:19 PM
Hello everyone,  :)

I'm currently using the electrum vertcoin wallet but I want to move all my coins to the exodus one.

When I'm trying to send my coins to the exodus wallet adress I get an error :

" Error : the transaction was rejected by network rules "

Some people already had this problem but the solutions given did not help me like change the server or increase the fees or decrease the amount of coins to send. (My electrum wallet is also up to date)

I don't really know what to do now after trying all of those suggestions.

Thanks for helping me  ;)

Which version is your Electrum?

You are probably using Electrum for Bitcoin instead of the Electrum-VTC. Are you sure that you are using the version found on this page[1]?

No I'm using the Electrum-VTC 2.9.3.6 knowing that I want to send Vertcoin and not Bitcoin.

When I'm trying to send my coins to the exodus wallet adress I get an error :
" Error : the transaction was rejected by network rules "
Do you get any other error code included? Without knowing the specific error code it is going to be tricky to deduce exactly what is causing your transaction to be rejected.

"Rejected by network rules" is generally something to do with "fees" (ie. fee too small, "below min relay fee" etc)... or potentially breaking the "dust" rule... ie. your transaction is trying to create a transaction with an output below the networks "dust limit".

If you set your transaction up and click the "preview" button (rather than "send")... how many outputs are being generated? and what are the amounts for each output?

Hi and thank your for the answer .

So, this is the error message :

And if I click the "preview" button there is one output generated with the total amount of the transaction. And also the amount is shared in 1171 inputs :

Thanks again.

LOL... it says right there: "64 tx-size"
https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/15/zpcAv.png

You are attempting to create a transaction that is 173,354 bytes!! :o :o :o That's around 760x the size of a "standard" transaction (226 bytes)! ::)

I think the limit is something like 100,000 bytes (but don't quote me on that). I suggest you maybe cut down on the number of inputs you're using to send this transaction.

Trying using the "Coins" tab ("View -> Show Coins") and selecting a couple of hundred inputs at a time and breaking your transaction up into say 10 different transactions.

Ok ... sorry , I'm so dumb , shame on me .  :-\

It was a bit obvious . ::)

Thanks for helping me .

No worries... to be honest, I've never seen a transaction that big! haha

Also, just in case you need to send all that Vertcoin to someone in a single transaction, you can simply send the coins to yourself first in 10 transactions of 200 inputs... and that way, when you want to send them all in one transaction, you'll only have 10 inputs instead of 1171 ;)

If you don't mind me asking... how did you end up with so many inputs in the first place? ???

Oh thanks for the trick. I mined vertcoin for a certain time and the payment was very regular in small quantities :p
