Virtus is a new next generation coin built from Dash. Virtus (means valor, masculinity, perfection, character and dignity, perceived as male strengths) uses Tribus algorithm for proof of work. Just like Dash it does not rely on any sort of central authority. It is open-source and uses peer-to-peer technology - maintained only by the the Virtus network. We want Virtus to be a genuinely valuable currency. With low block rewards and low overall supply we try to accomplish this. We believe in the simple supply and demand economic model. The frequent block halving will also help to make this a coin with increased scarcity and value.


We know how difficult it is for small miners to compete with the giants of the industry. Therefore, we chose the PoW Tribus algorithm. It is resistant to NiceHash service and is not supported by ASICs. In addition, for a uniform and fair distribution of the initial award, we made a slow start.


One of the tasks of our team is the introduction of a new economic model of masternodes. We plan to implementation a three-level masternode system (for example, lowMN, medMN and highMN). This unique system will allow Virtus to use new real projects that require level distribution in decision making. In addition, this will increase the attractiveness of the VirtusPay project for investors

The second task of our team is the development of a new algorithm proof of work. This algorithm will have high energy efficiency and new calculation methods. Existing huge GPU-farms will no longer be able to dominate, and the idea of decentralization will reach a new level. In addition, this step will greatly complicate the extraction of coins and the initial investors will receive substantial profits from the growth of the Virtus rate.

"JSON-RPC call failed: Method not found" means, that this method doesn`t exist in this code. No solo mining with ccminer. You can only setup solo mine via your private pool that using "getblocktemplate" method.

Interesting project and things look promising...Curious what folks thoughts are on Graviex.   As far easy/quick in/out.   The only exchange I have experience with is Cryptopia and it's been bumpy to say the least but I've grown to trust them.   So just wanted to get peoples opinion on Graviex.

We are all worried about the decline of Virtus. Investigating the causes of this phenomenon, we came to the following conclusions.

1 - the general decrease in the value of base crypto-currencies (such as Bitcoin, Ether), as well as most alternative coins. Let's not forget the "Bearish" season in the market which has caused a rapid decline in the value of crypto- assets, such as Virtus.
2 - an overabundance of Virtus coins. There is also the issue of having excess rewarded that exceed the need of investors, so many "extra" coins appear on the exchange. There is no balance of supply and demand.

Following the main goal - to make Virtus a valuable coin - There is a need to change the economic model of the project.

Namely:

- the cost of the masternode will be increased to 25,000 coins
- the block time will be 120 seconds (it was 60 seconds)
- the total number of coins will become 18.000.000 VRT

A mandatory update will be required on Sunday 01 April 2018 at 08.00 AM UTC.

You will have to collect 20k more for the masternodes unforunately. However, your coins now are worth A LOT more.

Also, don't just assume the coins are worth a lot more, just because there's "less" supply doesn't mean there's going to automatically be demand, the coins are still worth what someone is willing to pay for them, and unfortunately for this, that isn't very much. There's still no white paper and the biggest highlight on the webpage is "tiered masternodes," still not really a clear "use" for the coin....

On GRAVIEX for a week as not working wallet VRT and on my request said that you have a problem in the network. when's it gonna be okay ?

Anyone knows why the wallet won't sync. I am using Virtus Core version v0.12.2.2-0ec8039 (64-bit) and for the last 12 hours is ...Connecting to peers.

DASH and Virtus use different algorithms (X11 and Tribus). So Virtus completely ASIC resistance.

Thanks for adding a new pool. What fees are associated?

One of the better masternode coins I've seen. I like that most the PoW rewards actually go to miners. And I also like the fairly unique algo that's resistant to most of the bs out there.

Unfortunately, the dev is not active DAILY. I've seen him around but I haven't seen the coin improve much AT ALL. I'm thinking about just dumping it or forgetting about it.

developers have any infa on the coin? and then on the pool some kind of warning unknown new rules activated(VERSIONBIT 1) the price flies down..

We are all worried about the decline of Virtus. Investigating the causes of this phenomenon, we came to the following conclusions.

1 - the general decrease in the value of base crypto-currencies (such as Bitcoin, Ether), as well as most alternative coins. Let's not forget the "Bearish" season in the market which has caused a rapid decline in the value of crypto- assets, such as Virtus.
2 - an overabundance of Virtus coins. There is also the issue of having excess rewarded that exceed the need of investors, so many "extra" coins appear on the exchange. There is no balance of supply and demand.

Following the main goal - to make Virtus a valuable coin - There is a need to change the economic model of the project.

Namely:

- the cost of the masternode will be increased to 25,000 coins
- the block rewards will be decrease to 10 VRT
- the total number of coins will become 18.000.000 VRT

A mandatory update will be required on Sunday 01 April 2018 at 08.00 AM UTC.
