Title: Local Board (Filipino)
Post by: Glorious04 on February 20, 2018, 10:41:57 PM
This is not to complain but only to ask for a clarification. I dont even know where to place my post about this topic because There is no off-topic board in the Philippine local section. Whoever are the moderators of this Local board (Philippines), with due respect may i know why do i experience deletion of  posts in this  section aside from the reason you give in your message as off-topic? If i look at my post i could not figure out why it is called off-topic when everything that i said/do is just quote someone’s post and answer it. I’ve never experienced deletion of any of my post in all board in my entire period of stay in this forum and i am grateful for that but in a local board, my own language spoken, it amazes me. And also to mention, i am not the only one who noticed it. Others experience it as well and even more posts deleted from them. May i know sir and ma'am why is this so?

You can try to contact moderators of your local board to ask why your posts was deleted:
rickbig41 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=553678
Dabs - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=54791

They always delete posts. That's why I try to veer away from our local board.

Maybe its time to have a meta child board on each local boards, why? Because it help us to discussed some bitcointalk related issues with our own language and from that we widely expressed our opinion in more comfortable way.

You don't need a dedicated child board to discuss forum-related issues in a local forum. You can simply make a thread in the main local boards, can't think why any local mods would prohibit that as long as the discussion is constructive.

I think before you post, search first the topic, it may be a duplicate topic,be careful. Once you post on duplicate topic, once the mods discover and delete it, all post inside the thread will be gone. Some topic are almost the same, where no need to create one, but some are fond of making new thread without researching first.

Well if you really got the message to every deleted post you want to be clarified then you should basically contacted Philippine Local Board Moderators. In my own Understanding why did it Happen, is your main inquiry is it is off topic or maybe it is off topic, or you have replied a post into a shit thread. Well I am not judging why did it happen to you but moderators Delete post if it is necessary to be deleted or if it is really needed. Not to offend you my brother but i think you should make an evaluation.

Yes you are right mate, i also experienced with that deleted post from local board but i admit my self that my post is poor in grammar.
I respect the decisions of Moderators maybe i posted those shit post thread, so to avoid being deleted post chose those thread that with sense to reply in local board. Don't be offend on this but we need to do our best in posting even if we are on local board.

It could be the whole thread that is off topic that's why your post was also deleted. Sometimes newbies don't read the sticky threads where they could find the answer to their question instead they start threads asking questions that can be answered by everyone then others will reply with the same answer forcing mods to delete it immediately.

I agree just make sure to lock the thread after the discussion is over.

Don't make off topic posts or break the rules then they won't get deleted.

it always happens to me you should be keen on what topic you are posting about because that topic might have duplicated topic also ,  and also the reason why post got deleted just because you are posting far from the topic itself so be aware that is the good thing to do,

If i look at my post i could not figure out why it is called off-topic when everything that i said/do is just quote someone’s post and answer it.
If the Main post itself was low quality/off topic/with ref link = the whole thread will be deleted
If the posts you quoted and replied to were off-topic = your post will be deleted
I believe if the Topic is related to bitcoin/crypto/finance, but the thread has been already old or have several numbers of pages already, it will be locked.

Our Mods are cleaning up our local board, if you're not aware of this : Non Bitcoin Posts/Threads will be Deleted. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2006619.0)

What's up with this whining? I assume OP is having a hard time completing his required post count for his signature campaign ::)

If the mods feel/deem your post as off topic then they will delete it regardless if you think/know it's not.

I don't know why you are making a big deal out of this. This thread is nonsense, IMHO.

It seems like the OP already knew it, its obvious as when you read his statements. It could never be nonesense easy to talk like that remember please bring your respect everytime don't be a philosopher like others.
I don't know why people so arrogant and sometimes they want you to be their dog and they want you to kiss their ass.

I agree with the OP in some point and I also expirienced that in our local board but its not a big deal for me .. Maybe the topic he replied is repeated or a dead topic that was just bumped for a years have passed. It's in us we should double check the date or our idea is already given for the topic.

I admit that our Local board was plenty of repeated topics, shitposts since I joined this forum 4 months ago, but its improving now because of the help of our new mod ( rickbig41).

Same. I created a new topic which I think is not a repeat because it's about a new issue on forum and I thought it would be good for us filipinos to engage on that topic and have a little brainstorming for us to be able to help each other. But the post got deleted and I'm puzzled why. I don't think they even read my post probably they just saw the topic and assume its the same as others. There was no topic like that because if there was I could have just replied to the thread and join in. I wish there's a child board where we can discuss those like I can freely discuss things here in the main thread. Seems our local thread are more strict than the main thread here.

This is so accurate,  I think there should be off-topic in filipino local board because even Meta Section-like thread are getting deleted there. So that we can talk about what's happening in the forum lately.

It's other off-topic replies on our post which that information or opinion we are providing is not related to the topic or section on-hand. Or the moderators don't our posts constructive enough that they find to delete. Regardless if you are worrying because you are in a signature campaign don't worry it will still be counted by the manager if he/she during that time checks it.

Someone suggested it before on the sticky thread and rickbig didn't agree with it (his response (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1348035.msg30256573#msg30256573)). I also won't agree with it because that would just encourage people to continue spamming. I've seen off topic threads before in our board and most of them weren't necessary. Starting a thread that is off topic is okay if it's something that should be talked about (like the merit system for example) just make sure to use the search button to avoid multiple threads.

This is also one of the reason why some of our fellow countryman's are get tagged by some DT members and really hated. Because many of us are trying hard to reply without knowing the topic. We admit some of us from the Philippines are not good in english and some of us are just posting to complete the qouta from the signature campaign.  That's why I think we should also have new section boards, I think it could help all our countrymen regarding with this issue. And it will lessen the numbers of spam and also we can avoid being tagged red.

I think what we are suggesting is like a child board thats not necessarily offtopic, but not bitcoin related for example, altcoins & ICO's, Exchanges, wallets, Meta etc.
The deletion of posts are very rampant in Filipino Local Board it's like its no longer a forum but just a Local Announcement Board for Filipino.

To be honest, it will really be nice if there will be childboard like meta&offtopic in Filipino Local board so that we we're be able to talk about something that is happening to the forum and we can also talk about the government and news within the Philippines. But i know that mods in filipino local board will not allow it since it might result to spams and etc etc. But i think it will not be a big deal since most of the bounty campaigns doesn't count post in local section.

There is an alternate coin section in filipino local board. here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=243.0).

Yeah I agree with you. I myself experienced a deleted post in our local board since sir rickbig41 appointed as a moderator. He is indeed a great help and partner to sir dabs, we all know that they're just doing their part for the goodness of our local board and avoid off-topic comments let's just prove them to make a constructive post which is worthy not to be deleted again.

I dont think replying to what you think a nonsense topic just for your signature to be seen is sensible too.. Stay away from a nonsense topic if you dont have any sensible reply to make or you will just be making your self wise in your own eyes.
