Title: BFL - Non Paypal/credit card orders. - Sorry for another BFL Thread
Post by: southerngentuk on September 20, 2013, 11:08:21 PM
Non Paypal/credit card orders.

I would like to try my luck with small claims court.
However I can not do this myself (am not in US).
If someone is local to BFL, Maybe they can represent a batch of orders (and we can all chip in for expenses. )
If someone is prepared to give this a go please PM me or post.
If Someone is an expert of/or friends of an expert in US legal/consumer rights please post also.

Without a local I feel this is pointless. Without hiring a lawyer (which could be done with enough Interest).

Well done lajz99 for all his efforts with paypal/credit card orders. If this applies to you then see his Thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295187.msg3164319#msg3164319 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295187.msg3164319#msg3164319)

Lets show BFL the power of the Forums  ;)

Needs to be a Custom Hardware COMPLAINTS section... it's time has come.

It will be a very hard task explaining bitcoins to the judge. I think we can pay Micon to represent us vs Josh.

Do we need to explain bitcoins?

Regarding payments -  Even if the person payed in BTC it was converted to USD

Regarding the hardware - Its kind of irrelevant what product was purchased, it has not been shipped in a timely manner.

But if the judge ask's - yes its going to be hard to explain  ;D

I don't recall any posts by Micon - I'll do some digging. Main point at the moment is to assess Interest.

All the time they are trading I see no reason why not, but am not an expert.

If there is enough of us who have genuinely requested a refund and been denied, then we can try. If 50 customers go to a judge I can't see him ruling against them..

If a lawyer approaches BFL with 50 clients and says we gonna court, BFL will ever pay up or fold up.

Yes there is a huge risk for the other customer here, there is risk, but I have personally excepted that this investment is lost unless I take action.
+ every time josh post's it makes my skin crawl

Or immediately ship their products via a clerical error

I paid in BTC and would love to get my coins back. I do not see that happening though.

Perhaps we should compile a list of denied refunds, make a joint request for refund to BFL giving 7 days notice before filing a joint complaint to the  state attorney general and  Better Business Bureau, with further action if needed.

The list should contain at minimum

Surname/username               date of order           amount of order

I would be happy to compile a list via PM and file what I can by email, If someone is up on drafting the complaint ( someone who has some experience with these things) I would be grateful.

I will keep all personal information private - but keep a running count here of orders/total order value.

Thoughts suggestions welcome.

Am sure it wont take many before this will be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, that should gain some attention.

We could do this in rounds, maybe 25 orders at a time, file then start gathering the next batch.

Please do not worry if you payed in BTC - the order was in $$$$ and converted at checkout or afterwards, its a non issue am sure..
