I think it's kind of a platform to regulate ICO's. It's being developer by Ethereum founder. Not sure about full details, sure many will add their cmments soon. :-)

It is a new way of structuring ICOs to make them look more like the venture capital way of raising capital on an ongoing basis upon the project reaching certain milestones. I think this is a really positive development for the ecosystem as it will prevent projects from raising more than they need.

DAICO is the new ICO method to collect funds, which can protect the benefits of investors. This technology is still based on ETH, so ETH is also a good coin to invest in the future.

It’s an improvement on the ICO fundraising model that incorporates certain aspects of DAO’s.
The idea was suggested by Vitalik Buterin in January 2018 and is aimed at making ICO’s more secure by involving investors in the initial project development process.
It will further enable token holders to vote for the refund of the contributed funds if they are not happy with the progress being made by developers.
For projects that implement the DAICO concept, it will force a level of accountability on developers and give token holders additional peace of mind that they are guaranteed to either see at least a minimum viable product or get their money back.  :)

Hi

The Abyss Platform is the first ever who did DAICO!

But what is DAICO? An improved ICO Model?

A DAICO smart contract will have two parts, as follows:

(1) Like ICO- The first part will allow investors to send their Ethers to the project team. -
(2) Advanced Mechanism- The second part provides a mechanism where the funds are released to the project team in phases => A democratic system where investors vote will determine the quantum of funds for release.

Here is a detailed guide I wrote about it

Hope it is more clear now :)

The Gamo Protocol introduces a new blockchain architecture designed to specifically facilitate creation of DAICO. So What Is GAMO Protocol?

GAMO Protocol is a software that introduces new blockchain and powered by the creation of Decentralized Autonomous Initial Coin Offering (DAICO). It's function is to keep the investors safe by creating the environment which DAICO's can build. The environment includes coding protocol, testnet, best practice framework and enforcement protocol that are updated, audited and accountable.

Is that so? If this is the case, then I think this technology should be promoted. Is it because it has not been developed yet? Or is the technology not mature enough?Because so far I don't seem to see any ICO using this way

As far as I am concerned, it is a smart contract through which people can invest in ICOs without thinking of being scammed. This platform will ensure better ICO fundraising along with better service and promotion.

The world of cryptocurrencies and ICO has replenished with the new term “DAICO”, let’s find out what it is.
DAICO is a decentralized sutonomous public offering of tokens. Similarly to ICO, during DAICO tokens are sold by the project team for cryptocurrency. In the future, they can be used within the project itself, exchanged or sold on exchanges.

This is an improvement in the ICO fundraising model that combines certain aspects of DAO. This will then allow the token holder to vote for a refund of contributions if they do not like the progress made by the developer.

Don't you think it will make the market better...?

DAICO is a concept proposed for decentralized regulation of ICO market. Through it investors interest will be fully protected and they can vote for disbursement if the project is not following its roadmap. All these will be done through smartcontracts.

It is worth to notice that this type of ICO campaigns was suggested by Vitalik Buterin. This type of ICOs allow investors to withdraw their funds if they don't want to participate in this campaign any more.

It is a new model of restructuring ICO crowdfunding concept to make them look like venture capital process of raising funds for business. I think DAICO concept is good and it will make the whole process to be more healthy if it can be implemented.

Actually this is not a new method, this method has been announced for a long time, but not many ICO projects want to use this method
You can read more info about DAICO here: https://cointelegraph.com/explained/what-is-a-daico-explained

Daico is a smart contract when the ICO project is listed on exchanges if it does not bring profits to investors, they can vote for a refund of the initial investment amount. Based on the number of votes required, the development team will make a refund to all of its investors.

The information is very good but maybe DAICO no longer has the interest of the community because this is really just a form to help investors feel safer and in fact many DAICO projects scam and Do not trust at this time. In my opinion, if you want to invest in a certain project, please choose IEO because this is being considered a new trend trusted by many investors and can help you earn a very high profit if you're lucky.
