Title: Noob question, how exactly do I mine the new coins on the announcement thread?
Post by: Newminer27 on February 21, 2018, 06:15:00 PM
So Ive just built my first rig and am enjoying watching the profits roll in so far, but an idea struck me, what if instead of going for the most profitable coin at the moment, I were to use the rig to mine newer low difficulty coins which may not be profitable at the moment but just to be able to get a sizeable amount of total coins in a short time so if the value does moon some time later, Id be holding a good chunk of coin. Now I know the place to look for these coins is the altcoin announcement thread on here or coinmarketcap.com/new, however when I look at any of those coins there is no explanation or program for mining them? Im looking to find the mining programs for these newer low difficulty  coins.

You need to use the miner for what ever algorithm the coin is using, which is specified in the announcement. Claymore's ETH dual miner, Bminer, ccminer, etc. If it's a new algorithm, often there will only be a CPU miner at launch.
