Title: Shutting down mining farm / selling all miners
Post by: questmin on February 22, 2018, 08:21:29 AM
Due to the current situation we decided to shut down our farm at this point and sell all the available miners (we are focusing on alt)
We have 73 S9 that we are ready to put on sale.

The power supplies that we use are custom so the miners will be sold without them.
The miners are available in Europe(but we will ship worldwide), so all European orders will be free of customs duties.
All miners are out of warranty.
The approximate price of the miners will be ~ 1500 USD

Our site will be up tomorrow.
BTC/ETH/PayPal payments are welcome
Shipping within 5 working days after payment (DHL only)

Unless you accept escrow and present a convincing proof of ownership no one will deal with you and you will most likely be tagged as a scammer.

No one with any brains is sending you payment in advance with "shipping after payment". You're either not very savvy or just a scammer. Commit to escrow, proof of ownership and transparency or beat it. People on this forum are sick and tired of these half baked bullshit schemes.

Market works that way from the beginning of the internet - you pay in advance then your order is shipped, unless you ordered a pizza or groceries to your home.
As we said, if you wanna use "Buyer Protection" - use PayPal as payment processor - it's easy and secure.

Forum escrow is not a option for a number of reasons.

The market is big, you have a choice.

I would have expected at least one miner to have sold in 12 hours after you put up the page.  It is still saying 52 are available.

Why is the price so much cheaper than what you could get on ebay?

I considered ordering a few, but PayPal buyer protection is not necessarily guaranteed, especially if associated with bitcoin.

I think it's a scam  ;D ;D ;D
no reply about local pickup crazy cheap prices etc etc
if you don't allow local pickup and pay after inspection it's scam finish end of day!!!
make a video showing your stuff with paper saying your username and date allow local pickup and I take my words back.

Yesterday we sold 1 and this night another 2.
As we said the miners are out of warranty, used and not good looking(we will do our best to send them like a new)
The price is -200$ for what we paid for them(months ago), so for the 2nd hand product of this type is more than normal.
And again - hardware and products in general are protected by PayPal.

About local pickup.
Is not a option for a number of reasons:
The main one - the miners are located in production facility of an international company.
And yes we don't pay the electricity.

About the price -  as we said the price is based on the base bitmain price before raising.

Hello,

I would be interested in buying the later in March, if at least some of them will be available.

Can you post the price in EUR?
Also if I would be buying from you within EU, would you be willing to declare the VAT on an invoice.
Would I be buying from a EU VAT registered company?

Thanks for the reply

Andrew, you are so brave dude  ;D with any standard this is a scam other than paypal thing which I think the scammer has a plan for this

The most possible scenario:
He will give more 'discounts' and temptative offers then tries to convince you to use paypal 'gift' payment system like 'my partners are afraid of being

screwed by you reclaiming your funds, blah, blah , ...' and you will be screwed badly, just take care bro  ;)

Not accepting and escrow and Not providing any proof of ownership thus tagged as a scammer until proven otherwise.

Paypal gift just removes your dispute process through Paypal and has the buyer pay the fee.  You can 100% file a chargeback against this method though with you credit card company if you have a problem with it.  They do not care what the "reason" you sent payment was on paypal.

I'll take a random guess nothing will happen there, the guy doesn't have any miners its 100% scam.

He will disappear into oblivion like every other lame scammer on here until they create a new account to try and steal from innocent people again which should be in a few days.

But I'm definitely paying in Paypal goods and services and have documentation of what is supposed to be shipped... so I'm hoping nothing goes wrong. :)

Guys, in my situation using escrow means a lot of things.
First of all I'm not selling 1,2 or 3 miners.
I'm selling miners that mine as I write this post.
Using escrow means loosing a lot of money, not for the escrow fee, but for the mining.
If I use escrow to sell all the miners i'll lose about 10K. It's a simple math and the money always talk.
As I said in the first post we are selling S9 for alt crypto miners.
Fast money means less loses and fast buying the new hardware. It's that simple.

About the proof - I repeated a few times(however no one send me a message) - If you want a proof, just PM me, as Andrew do it and receive it.
If you have a real interest in buying miners you will contact me and we will arrange the deal.
Otherwise you are just here to CAPS LOCK "SCAMMER" and give me negative trust without even talked to me or traded at all.

Cheers!

This is wrong. Escrow add ZERO time to the transaction. You can ship the products as fast or as slow as the agreement states. Escrow uses Crypto transfers. There is no added time.

^I don't know... but ask him for them privately if you are really interested. He sent one with his name and date on it plus pictures of them running... etc.

For everyone's edification, check out Paypal's Buyer Protection policy:

https://www.paypal.com/ch/webapps/mpp/ua/buyerprotection-full?locale.x=en_CH

It is my understanding that Paypal will hold funds for up to 21 days unless certain criteria are met (like the seller's account is in good standing with plenty of deals).

If you follow all of those policies I don't see what could go wrong.

And I will say that the OP has been really responsive for every request I've made so far. I think this forum has so many scammers on it that a lot of people jump to conclusions and get an attitude before allowing people to prove anything.

All that said, will post how the transaction goes either way.

afaik paypal buyer protection is only upto a certain amount of money.
once it reaches that and goes above they tend to side with the seller.
i also do not understand the issue why he won't post the proof here rather in PM. in theory we can just take it and paste it here right? so whats the point?

So far the communication has been good.

I did call PayPal and talked to a nice Indian sounding sounding lady.  I gave her the store e-mail address "admin@minings.gold" and the transaction name of "PayPal * EBAYINEDKOV" and she told me the transaction would be covered by paypal protection.  I asked her if bitcoin miners were considered industrial machinery (not covered) and she asked be for the name "Antminer S9".  I was put on hold and she came back to tell me that it would be covered.  I only recorded the last half of the phone call.

I don't know if it helps anyone or not.  The PayPal phone number I used was 1-888-221-1161

Right, Paypal only covers up to a certain amount. And also the miners would likely be categorized as some sort of computer and not industrial equipment.

Very odd there's not been any real conversation for a while here... maybe people are just waiting for deals to fulfill to come back and say what's happened.

PayPal's limit is like $20,000.  I'd say that's a lot but it isn't when it comes to crypto equipment.  Just something to keep in mind.

If you paid $3400 for each miner, you are insane. If you paid $3400 total for 18, you got scammed. Why the Hell would any legitimate seller, sell 18 ASIC for $3400.00??? If it seems to good to be true well then....it is.

If you bought 18 moonlanders, it'd have cost you about half of that...  :-[
It doesn't seem plausible that someone would value their miners as worth only two cheap scrypt sticks...

Any word? Shipping is basically closed for everywhere now. If they're broken then I don't see why there would be need to scam unless they just don't exist.

He took paypal, easy enough to get your money back if they don't send you anything.

He dont accept escrow and local pickup

Still nothing Andrew???   ??? ??? ??? :'(

I just pulled the trigger on 10 841s with one free 821.  No more room for another go around here.

I sent 11,320 via PayPal and it was refunded because of a 180 day hold on money in his account due to a rise in activity.  We could not make a deal using forum escrow or Escrow.com.

Most of what I received in e-mail seemed to be true.  Some details seemed hard to make up.

Since I tried doing this deal S9s go for ~900/ea less on e-bay, and bitmain dropped their price another $400 or so, and with cheap $200 cupons even more.  If I could pull together the money to do this deal for 10, it would be a lot less than 1150/ea.  Probably 750-800.  I'm imagining these units have been run long and hard.

Apparently PayPal locked his account. Waiting to hear back about a refund.

Looked like a scam from 1st post.

OPs not been online for 12 days with this account anyway, probably got another.

Hope you guys get a refund.

Last login march 5th...yep it's dead jim. You guys should definitely be covered if his account got suspended. Doesn't make it any less painful or annoying having to deal with disputes though. In one right now personally, not on paypal though. I have a feeling paypal is a better dispute handler than what I'm dealing with right now ;D

Sorry for the old revive, but I was interested to come back and check this. At least it will serve as a warning. I see s9's have indeed dropped a ton in price though. Coupons and Bitmain and all that.
