Title: https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/ or Cryptopaperwallets on EBAY! THIEF!
Post by: krogothmanhattan on February 22, 2018, 12:45:59 PM
This company or person sold crypto plastic wallets on ebay.

I bought some custom made wallets from them on Ebay...loaded two with $40 in Bitcoin back in July 2017.

https://talkimg.com/images/2024/03/01/fxO7v.jpeg

Last week both wallets were swept or breached! Thanks to my bitcoin address tracker I was alerted right away!

The user is no longer a registered user on EBAY.

His website looks like it has been taken down as well!

https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/  (https://www.cryptopaperwallets.com/)

AS of today, over 7.7 BTC have been sent to the same address from which mine was stolen and sent to as per following

https://blockchain.info/address/1Nu95AhzqXC8tqZKjojSkqGG2w951ZZQhA (https://blockchain.info/address/1Nu95AhzqXC8tqZKjojSkqGG2w951ZZQhA)

And that is only in BTC..I can imagine other alt crypto that probably was stolen as well!

I am sure many BTC newbies who loaded these wallets are not even aware their BTC is gone!

Other people whom have been breached have contacted the appropriate authorities!

If you know anyone who has purchased these wallets, then let them know NOT to load them.

And if they have to check their BTC. I am quite sure it is gone!

Man, I'm so glad that I found this post.  I too fell victim to this crook.  I was wondering if you could contact me so I could share what actions I've taken so far and to see if there is any more that we should do.  Fortunately i only lost $80.00, but like you pointed out; He stole over $70,000.00  so far and that is just off of the eBay customers.  Who knows how many others he got through his website which also just shut down.  Please PM me and I'll send you my number or email.  Thank you again for posting this.  Everyone needs to know!!!!

Wait... you bought a pre-made paper wallet that someone else had the private key for... And now you're surprised that your bitcoins are gone? ???

Why on earth would you put any coins into an address where you do not have exclusive knowledge of the private key? :-\

I'm surprised it took the guy 8 months to take them... he must have been waiting for the "big score"... ie. a decent amount of coins to get loaded up before taking them all.

The server of that site isn't responding, so they are gone for good.

Thankfully it was only a small amount that you put into this, and not a huge amount that some other people put into it. The scammer's got around 7.7+ BTC in that wallet received in scammed funds, and everything has already been emptied into other wallets.

And that's not to count the profit that he made by selling these paper wallets to people both on his site and also on ebay.

You should never let anyone else know about your private key, period. If you want a vanity address generated by someone else, you need to use split key generation, no matter how trusted the other party seems to be.

   My friends..you are both right!

I had him make me custom total annihilation plastic wallets and sprinkled with a minute amount of BTC just for the fun of it.

And yes, was very well aware they would or could be stolen.SO the fault lays with me.

I would never trust any serious amount of BTC with anyone unless I created the paper wallet myself.

But it is what it is. The thief scammed people out of 7.7 BTC and probably alot of alt coins since he also sodl wallets for them too.

Yes, we all should have known better but that doesn't excuse what was done.  I myself lost $80.00 which I too put on the card more as a test.  I just feel so bad for all of the people that really put a lot more trust into these crooks and put their life savings on the cards.  I see some transactions were several Bitcoins per card.  I myself informed the FBI and I was told that others have contacted the FTC, the local authorities in Elk Grove, as well as other authorities.  I look at this as a hard lesson learned for myself and will hopefully learn through this experience what to do in the future if something similar happens.  I wish I wouldn't have waited a few days to write the FBI.  I found out about the theft the very next morning and their eBay store was still active as well as their local internet site WWW.Cryptopaperwallets.com in Elk Grove, Ca.  There has to be a way to catch up to these low-lifes.  Of what I have read and about the blockchain and what little I do know about IP addresses and websites as well as having an actual store on eBay and an account registered with PayPal, there has to be a way for the authorities to catch up to these guys.  I hope more victims read about this on here or that eBay will pass the customer information on to the authorities so that they can get as many witnesses together as possible.  I think this wasn't thought out as well as some hacker hacking an actual exchange somewhere in China.  There are just too many footprints for this thief to get away with this.  And one last thing, even though we were a bit "careless" by trusting a third-party seller of a paper wallet, please don't be so hard on the other victims.  Like I said, some of them just lost their lifetime savings and I'm sure they could use some encouragement rather than insults.  We're all here to learn from each other's mistakes in hopes to not make them ourselves.  That's just my 0.000000002 Satoshi's worth......

Very well put bro! They will get whats coming to them. BTC can be traced..they gotta be dumb not to realize that.

The fact that he sent it all to one address is dumb right?  Should that not make it easier for the FBI to track? My guess however would be that this dick-wad is smart enough to use a mixer and what not. I hope he gets to meet Bubba in prison.

edit -I remember seeing this on ebay over and over too.  I bet I might own some actually (bought indirectly in MJ's xmas satoshi pack..maybe).

Lol...yes BUBBA... They can track the IP address too. FBI was able to go to the darknet and track the impossible. He will get caught for sure

Well, it seems like to me that you knew about the risks in the beginning and stuck with the idea. No harm in doing that. And since the amounts that you put in are so small it's probably nothing major even when it does get hacked for you.

But for others, as you've mentioned, have gotten scammed upwards of 7.7 BTC and that's only one address. And a lot I assume didn't know the risks and put their entire bitcoin stash into one of these wallets.

It'll be interesting to see if victims of this scam are willing to come out and and raise some accurate figures and as much information as possible about this scammer. Since he used ebay instead of more anonymous options, there is a better chance that he's left trails behind.

I wish there was a way to contact them! Probably they just loaded their wallets and stored them away. Who knows when they will check them again! If only ebay would reach out to them..but when I told ebay just that they said they would not!

Like I mentioned earlier, eBay as well as PayPal were pretty much useless in resolving this issue or even making an effort.  They sounded all concerned when I first called and even admitted having issues with the seller.  Ebay told me that they themselves had locked the sellers account due to suspicious activity.  However, by the next day everything changed.  Suddenly both PayPal and eBay (who are allegedly no longer affiliated with each other) both closed the investigation and said that the seller was cooperating by offering a "full refund" of what I had paid for the card; the whole $5.75, just as soon as I send them the card back. Seriously?! Yet in the meantime the store remains closed and even their own website: www.cryptopaperwallets.com shut down and the seller no longer has an account with eBay.  I will go as far and say that eBay themselves are to be held somewhat responsible for not doing anything else about the whole grand theft.  I sent them all of the evidence.  I'm sure their records will be subpoenaed by the FBI/courts and hope they will be held responsible in some way.  I understand them not wanting to get involved on one hand, but this is too big of a theft with too many victims (faithful customers of both eBay and PayPal) for them to just blow the whole thing off.  Even the customer service representative sounded like he was really concerned for all of the victims, but apparently the higher ups have more important issues to work on......

Don't ever expect ANYTHING morally righteous from eBay/PayPal.  They are in fact the same company (spin-off).  However they share the same morals as the seller, they have none.  They are bigger crooks than the seller by miles.  I hope more people find this thread and he/she/they gets caught ( and they end up celebrating their next few bday's eating rat turd filled cupcakes made by Bubba  )

Has anybody else reported this theft to any authority?  I have now reported to the FBI (IC3.gov) and the Elk Grove PD.  Unfortunately, the PD told me that this is the first that they have heard about this (at least that's what the investigator on the phone told me).  I was hoping that I would be one of many complainants and not just the one and only.  It would be nice to have some support here.  Like I said, it's just $80.00 in my case, but there are hundreds of victims out there who in total have lost over $70,000.00.  Please, if you lost anything to these crooks, please make your voice heard.  It will take all of us to catch these criminals.  I thought that somebody had contacted the FTC as well.  I will just go down the line and contact everybody that I can think of, but again, the more that report these guys, the better the chance of catching up with them.  So I thank those of you in advance that are taking action.  Otherwise, I hope that at least my little effort will help others.  Just stay vigilant out there and please don't trust ANY third-party sellers of anything crypto related (I know, common sense.....).  But lets at least stop this one group.  I still don't think that they are very smart because they simply left too many footprints and somebody will catch them once they see how much money was actually involved in this major theft.  Have a great day, everyone.

I just found out that I was scammed to!! I bought these cards last year and had 1.07 bitcoin on one and 10.1 litecoins on a litecoin card I had also purchased from www.cryptopaperwallets.com.
Both amounts were removed at near the same time (Feb 13/18) and to the bitcoin address 1Nu95AhzqXC8tqZKjojSkqGG2w951ZZQhA which still has 7.7 bitcoins and the litecoin address of LW9359Mt33sLqApEgMHcW6Y48D3i47sd9x which now has 210 ltc.

Is there anything that can be done about this?

Never buy crypto wallets from strangers. Doing so is playing with fire. I know and I understand, it’s all about that uniqueness. The novelty and that kind of stuff. But it all ends there. While it might look like something special, it is far from being a safe wallet.

Keep your coins in a wallet which you and you alone control. Private keys are for your eyes only. Never ever to be shared with anyone.

Yes, this scammer got more people. I just found out today! It seems about one month ago he stole 180 litecoins roughly $36,000 including 2 grand from my friend. He used the address mentioned in hogie2010 post. He sent the 180 litecoins all over the place to many addresses and now has 0 in that account. My friend is gathering all info so he can report this to the FBI. I saw this seller selling hundreds of cards on ebay for every type of coin imaginable. So who knows what his total stolen dollar amounts. Did anyone get his actual name?

This company or person sold crypto plastic wallets on ebay.

I bought some custom made wallets from them on Ebay...loaded two with $40 in Bitcoin back in July 2017.

https://i.imgur.com/MbNcoTT.jpg

OK, thanks for the info. I tried to PM hogie2010 and sastealth but they don't have their PM settings to allow messages from newbies. Hopefully they read my post and contact me. We are trying to get as much info as possible before contacting the FBI. Which will be this week.

I have sent you via PM their address ..please confirm you got it

Please do...i reached out to the other two...they should be getting in touch with you too. I do hope more people will find tgis post.

The problem is...they are not aware of what happened to their funds. They probably loaded and stashed away.

I knew within 10 minutes as i was tracking the two cards via an app. So i was able to report to ebay promptly and have them shutdown.. I hope nore people realize and find this topic.

Its a different seller..This guy is from Germany..I bought that stick from him...not that I would dare to load it. Just as a collectable.

The thieves were based in California.

But thanks for pointing it out.  ;)
