If you already sent this signed message from your ETH address to Cyrus by following this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 , now you need patience, it can took few weeks or even months to recover your account. Admins getting lot of requests to recover accounts each day, so it's not fast process.

I did it, but I do not want to waste time. I sent them letters. I understand that the admins are busy, maybe there are more people on the forum who can help to return the account.

They are the only ones who can help recover your account and no other user can help you do it besides giving you only tips to recover it or guide you in the process. Regular users(like me) as well as default trust members have no administrative privileges to help you recover your hacked account. Like what someone said in the post above, just wait if you already pmed and mailed them.

Give then advice. This data will be enough, provided that I do not have access to the btc wallet?

Yeah, you provided enough information. Signed message from Bitcoin addresd are prefered, but if you don't have, ETH signed message should be fine.

While the managers were busy, the time was lost. The fraudster found this branch and edited all the messages. He complicated my task.

I already doubt that I can return. Hacker edited all the messages. I have little evidence left.
With a new system, when merits are needed. It is not realistic to raise an account to such a rank.

Just as KWH said recovery could take as long as a couple of months , so just hang in there and hope for the best outcome.

But I'm afraid that it's not likely that you will get your account back. In past I said that admins may accept signed message from ETH address if you don't have staked BTC address. But later one staff member said that admins accept only accept signed messages from BTC address or PGP key.

the last login of this account was May 22. And the last post were made by you on April 28. Meaning if the account were hacked the person has not been using it.

if you already have access to the old email you use for the account, just as you have just said, you can simply click on forget password and an email with password recovery instruction will be sent to you. Once you are able to reset the password your account will be yours again.

I tried to do so. But alas, apparently the account is re-registered to a new post. And to get the password for the old mail, through which the account was initially registered, does not work anymore.

I wrote to him in PM that he would give passwords. He does not make sense from the stolen account. He can not sell it, and he will not receive a reward for the signature either. But good hackers are only in fairy tales  :)

Roda, I know how you feel. My account was compromised as well. My account is now spamming in a different language and assuming another identity. They are ripping off bounty campaigns currently. I have messaged Cyrus as well with a signed message from a bitcoin address I used, but I did not hear anything back yet. I do not want to mention the account here in fear that they might edit the post history as it happened to you. It sucks, but I am sure the admins are busy, and they will get to it eventually. Update: Cyrus did not reply to me in two weeks after sending him a signed message. Now I will create a signed message with a BTC address associated with my account and message Theymos today. Beyond this all I can do is wait for a response it seems.

The instructions given above by Theymos make sense. How can a moderator respond if their inbox is being spammed? I trust you followed instructions and sent one signed message to each. On the other hand I did not realize that you have been waiting 7+ months for a reply. This is insanity.

Do you think that the moderators actually read every private message sent to them? Messages from 7+ months ago? This seems to be an unreasonable task to expect anyone to do. Do you find yourself going through every personal email you have received from 7+ months ago? It would be a very long process.... a process that makes zero sense to undertake for someone who values their time. The expectation that Cyrus and Theymos must spend their time reading months of messages is wrong. At the same time it's clear the process for recovering a hacked account on bitcointalk is best case inefficient, worst case completely broken.

In my opinion what drives these account thefts (and forum spam) is the bounty and incentive programs. Roda, why are you so keen on bounty programs? I have a negative opinion about these programs and advertising because my personal account was hacked to be used in these programs! To be honest I don't like that these advertising programs exist, and I think they devalue the forum. It appears the majority of threads are no longer filled with people holding great discussions around cryptocurrency and related services, but instead short meaningless three sentence spam posts in various languages to increase reputation for the purpose of these godforsaken advertising incentives. What it has become is not endearing as it once was... my faith has dwindled in bitcointalk.

This isn't about the negative trust, it's about their account being hacked. I (and I assume the others) will remove our trust feedback once the account is restored. We have no power to restore accounts.

I just want to ask something here, the ban evasion is a little bit confusing for me here in this case, so even confirming the connections between the two accounts, does this approve that they really belong to the same user and that user should be punished?
As i understood, ban is made for accounts logging from the same IP address so if one get banned then all the others will also get banned (which seems not very fair because btt subscribers may share the same rooter when they are friends or family members) ; in this case, does the stolen account need also to be banned for ban evasion? Would you please prove your confirmation by clear statement from forum official/unofficial rules??

I published the information for the forum administrators so they would checked the IP addresses of roda00 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1867995), radar19 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1002497) and batishta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=988671) and made their decision is this a ban evasion or not.

It is also noteworthy to say that user radar19 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1002497) had a post with copypasted text without a link to the source before it was hacked on 22 February, 2018.

OK. This second account is a brother account. But even that is not the case. As far as I know, two accounts on one ip are not prohibited. This example is not multi-production. One tweeter account was for different companies.
