Title: Officially NO LONGER a BTC hobo! *update*
Post by: MRKLYE on September 24, 2013, 04:58:28 AM
*UPDATE* I now officially have a job and a house to live in!!!!!
Thank you guys for helping me out through the rough times.

*UPDATE* Ah crap.. My laptop decided to crap itself and I have lost my electrum BTC wallet.. Please don't send BTC to the address below as I will never be able to access it.. :/

*UPDATE* My laptop seems to have restored itself!!! thank goodness.

Recently got evicted (read tonight) and currently on the streets of Brandon, MB, Canada.
I have with me some clothes, my laptop, My Block Erupter USB and a jacket.

Hunkered down in an entrance of an apartment building.. Found an outlet to charge my laptop. And to get out of the rain!
Currently drying my shoes. AND mining with my block erupter!.. This is as good as it gets tonight I guess.

I will be keeping my website updated on my homeless BTC journey. Please feel free to view here: http://www.btcninja.tk/

If you want to flip a coin to this BTC hobo, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Not only are you showing this poor bit-hobo some love, But you are also feeding me.. And for that I am forever grateful.

My wallet address: 1HoBo5qLXmBidQmtio1LZtAmKonvswaJ3r

Thank you again. Hopefully tomorrow I can crash at a friends place.. But for tonight I stay in this entrance. Mining BTC.

WOW! with the donations I have already received I shall have a fair meal tomorrow. You guys are humbling. Thank you very much!

http://imgur.com/QAVHYD0 (picture of me camped out in an apartment block enterance)

Stay safe out there, both fellow Bit-Hobos and everyone else..

Who has donated:

dhenson
winter
drfred
hex
quantumqrack
westinsides
mystery donator

Huge thank you to those listed above. You guys (or gals?) are saints and have made a poor bit-hobo feel loved.
Words can't really express how grateful I am. Bless you all.

*UPDATE*

I guess me hanging out in the enterance of the apartments I was camped at startled an old man.. Forcing me to have to move.
Good news is its not raining anymore!

New pic: http://imgur.com/sO7YxPy (me camped out beside a church)

Stay warm guys,

Kyle.T

I got to find someone here in town who will take BTC.. But your huge donation will find its way to feeding me tomorrow. I am indebted to you sir.

Light and love from Canada friend, It may be rainy and miserable out, But you sir shine.

Stay safe Mr. Henson!

I dunno if I advise it to the average BTC user.. If not for people donating I wouldn't have been eating tomorrow.. :/

Got a job starting up on the 30th.. But tonight I was unlucky to find myself without a couch or anything to sleep on..
Can't complain though.. This apartment entrance is warm, dry and has wifi/electricity.. Best a Bit-Hobo could ask for really.

Best regards man,

Kyle.T

I met one cat so far on this rainy night.. It looked at me as if I was severely handicapped as I walked through the rain with my laptop bag and garbage bag full of clothes.. -_-

Can't be too desperate if he always has access to power and wifi to update a blog.   :-\

Sell the laptop.  Even if you only get $100, combined with local shelters that should last you until you find a job.

I have a job, I start on the 30th of this month. Just run up on some rough times.
Blogging keeps me sane, and makes an interesting read for people (i hope)..

Anyways, thanks for your concern. :)

simple interweb search provides you with food and shelter... but you'd rather take btc and gamble it away because youve been proven a scammer before. ie: btcninja lottery, kylemine, other beg plots/sob stories you conjure up. honestly this guy can't even keep his stories straight.

If you are still looking for a place to stay for a few nights, give couchsurfing.org a shot. I used that a lot when I was traveling around Asia and Europe. Meet some amazing people and you might have an awesome opportunity come your way. Stay safe man and best of luck. I know what it is like to be in a low point as I just got out of that a few weeks up in Seattle

Yes, it is very cool. There are a larger amount of physical places accepting BTC than I thought.. So since this map is new to me, I try to link it out to anyone talking about physical locations, since it's a bit of a crowdsourced site as well.

Not sure what type of delusional fantasy you live in bud. But none of the things listed above are scams.
Baseless accusations. You haven't got proof of any scam ever taking place. The reason for that is because none ever did take place.
I'd appreciate it if you stop giving me a hard time and spreading FUD against me. Not only does it make you look like a knob, But it shows that you are indeed a petty person.

Kind of sad when a homeless guy has to deal with jerks like you on the internet, Go get a hair cut and quit making yourself look like a dick.

Okay, MRKYLE, boy do I have a proposition for you. It'll be in reference to this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295211.0

I will pay you up to $100 USD if you're able through your efforts to raise $1,000 USD for Sean's Outpost.

Use any legal means necessary to accomplish the goal. Use the following Bitcoin Address: 1M72Sfpbz1BPpXFHz9m3CdqATR44Jvaydd

The following QR Code coincides with the above address, but please check it with your smart phone to make sure:

http://blockchain.info/qr?data=1M72Sfpbz1BPpXFHz9m3CdqATR44Jvaydd&size=200

You may want to start a new thread in the appropriate section of this forum, and using your blog is probably a given. Maybe you belong to other social medias which you can utilize.

Somehow have a built-in mechanism in place so that I/we can give you credit for the donations because that address is used on a myriad of sites. Don't worry, for I won't be that strict on if the funds came from you or elsewhere, but the more proof the better.

I can pay daily to help you during your plight.

You game, or rather continue surviving off the begging approach?

I will do what I can to help Sean and his mission. I don't have a cell phone at the moment but I will put the address into my wallet and save it.
Starting work on the 30th, And with that I will be able to give back something to those who have donated and helped me through this dire time in my life.

Once I get back on my feet I will be donating to Sean's outpost. What that guy is doing is heroic in my eyes. As are the people aiding me at this point in time in my life. No good deed goes unpayed, either paid forwards or backwards in my eyes and mind.

I'll keep you posted sir, Thank you for offering to help both me and the Outpost.

Stay safe,

Not exactly sure if fun is the word! Although the freedom to piss anywhere you like and camping out random locations to steal wifi and mine is some persons wet dream I am sure. I don't mind being homeless, But it's not something I'd wish on anyone (especially with the weather getting colder and nastier).

Pleased to announce I started work today and the job seems great so far!
Going to be training for a few weeks then heading on to 8pm-8am night shifts.
Very excited to be working again.

I've also started mining with cex.io and so far all is going well, I had planned on purchasing miners from Barntech but given my current situation I had to ask him for a refund on the miners.. :/

I'll keep this thread updated as things progress, Still homeless at this point in time but an old friend has let me surf his couch at night for the past 4 days so at least I'm not out in the elements.

A huge thank you to all those that have helped me through kind words and donations. Without you all I'd have been far worse off.

Stay safe everyone,

Kyle.T

Hey Buddy! I'm right here with ya! I'm having trouble getting BTC from strangers, how do you go on getting them besides mining of course? I'm working on going to libraries and asking folks in exchange for advice or tutoring. But nobody takes advice from a hobo...

If any of you are kind enough please do help me!

Any tiny amount really does help, I'm trying to get a burger for tonight. Atleast water is free :D

As for the gentlemen who offered to order me pizza, thank you very much sir! But all my BTC is tied up in an investment right now. :/

New job is going great! Finally got onto the production floor today and was helping out with stuff. I'm a self starter and hopefully will be getting a fat raise once my probation period at work is over!

I might be looking for a pizza order later if this investment pays out tonight!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support!

Stay safe everyone!

Kyle.T

Please tell us that said investment has nothing to do with dice.

Nah man! I have 30.12GH/s hashing on ghash.io now. :)

This is probably a long-time scam.
Betting on it, anyway.

Anyone who threw a coin to MRKLYE fell for a 419-like scam.
Sorry for stating the most probable truth.

This isn't a scam you jackass. I'm crashed out on a friends couch at the moment but I'm working so hopefully in a month or so I will be able to get my own apartment. Quit spreading FUD. I'm sitting in a back alley snagging wifi as I type this. I'd appreciate if you minded your own business and quit picking on me.

thanks,

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing well!

Tomorrow marks the 2 weeks at my new job. I move to my 12 hour shifts this sunday and will be doing 8PM-8AM.
Very excited to work more hours and hopefully within the next 2 months or so I will get a raise or something.

I'd like to take this moment to address the hate/scam accusations I've been dealing with lately.
Seems the trolls have decided that it is fashionable to pick on people down on their luck, I for one am disgusted by the amount of slander and bullshit I've been having to deal with lately. Forum user "Kouye" seems to have made it his personal vendetta to fuck up my day. Nothing worse then getting off work and checking the forums and having some asshat attempting to discredit you with neither proof nor reason. Not sure what the hell I did to deserve this flak I have been getting.. But I'm sure karma will sort this shit out. (PS thanks for the negative feedback Kouye.. I left you one too you fucking cunt)

I'm homeless, albeit crashing on a friends house currently. I'm sick of baseless accusations against myself by people who either do not understand the meaning of homelessness or just get their rocks off making my day worse then it has to be. In the future I won't even attempt to be polite to the individuals who have decided to make it their mission to attempt to hurt me.

That being said, and having vented a bit, I want to thank all of those who have helped me out through this tough time either through donations, helping me order pizza and those who have said kind words and held me in positive thought. Without you all helping and supporting me I do not know what I would do. I will find a way to pay everyone back in some way and cannot wait to be able to pay some forward and help those less fortunate then myself when I have the ability to do so. This whole experience has both humbled me and opened up my eyes to see that good people still do exist and that even complete strangers will go out of their way to help a man in need, Thank you for everything guys.

I'm currently trying to throw together some BTC for a pizza order I hope to get tonight. I have .055 in mining dividends but need to collect a small amount more in order to get myself a decent meal for tonight. If anyone wants to help me order pizza (I will repay in BTC) or would like to donate a small amount to help me eat tonight, it would be greatly appreciated. 1Livezo8iDVGhhDo1xoxvbvNspMercBWKC

Thank you to everyone, stay safe guys.

Kyle.T

Hey Mr. Hobo, mind clicking some pics of your place and post here?

All the pics you have posted before are just you and a wall, which could be your home's wall .
Probably you came outside, took pics and went inside again with free BTC to play justdice. YAY.

Also if peoples are donation it doesnt means you should start begging btc for food etc.
I am sure you can find a part time job offline or online..

He says he is living on a friend's couch.

But said friend is too cheap to loan him any cash for a pizza, even though he is getting money in 9 days.  His friend can verify this money is coming in - we can't.  Yet he begs here.   ???

People should stop giving any free money to him. He's a grown up guy not a kid or a old man.
If a guy is not able to buy food for himself, even after 2 weeks, it doesn't means he's broke.. it means he's lazy as fuck.

My nephew asked to borrow a cigarette today. I asked him what he's doing with all the money he claims to be making as the head chef (though, when he describes his duties, it sounds like he's the dish washer) at the restaurant. He said that his friend wanted to buy a $20 scratch off lottery ticket but only had $10, so he invested (his words) the other $10 and they won $200. His share went toward gas in his girlfriend's car, and some other bullshit he had to dole out, hence not being able to buy cigarettes.

His mind is so fucked up due to his addiction, he no longer has a concept between what is real and is made up.

My friend has a household of 5 kids and was recently laid off.. So asking him for food is pretty much stealing it from his kids mouth.

I haven't played JD since the 26th. I had sponsors help to make that possible.. Please keep your banter to constructive things instead of ripping me down man.. :/

You say you are in Canada? In Winnipeg? I think there is a salvation army there, and they may have soup kitchens or even shelter.
I know it may not be the funnest place to hang around, but its one option if its safe enough to go there. Sometimes it can be a bit of a rough crowd around the charities for the poor.

Kind of like trying to get water in the Serengetti, but ya got to watch out for them crocodiles or lions or other beasts at the watering hole.

I am wondering how do you transfer BTC into cash money, in order to pay at restaurants right away?
Please tell.

Have you considered getting wallets for any of the 'alt-coins', as this might expand your donations into those areas?

For example, I may not have much bitcoins to give you, but if you had a netcoin wallet, then I could give you a small amount of netcoins. ( Netcoin.pw to download the netcoin wallet )

I don't have much bitcoins right now, but I am trying to get a loan as you can see at this link here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=310357.0

If someone loans me 100 BTC, I will give you 0.04 BTC :)

By the way, I also own a website named: SaveMe.info (http://SaveMe.info) that I am considering developing, where people can ask for donations in crypto-coins

You go off on me when I said remove yourself from the computer and go make some money to feed yourself?  People have been really giving here, but at this point, I dont see you doing anything to feed yourself, just begging for people to buy you a pizza.

Yea, you have a job.  But you havent gotten paid yet.  So, I recommended, instead of continuing to ask people to buy you food, some options you had to make a few bucks.

Sell blood, sell sperm, wash dishes somewhere in trade, anything.  But asking on here and waiting for someone to once again feed you for no reason is kind of lame.

My two cents

For a small introductory fee of only 0.05 BTC, you can get your own donation page at SaveMe.info (http://SaveMe.info) for a whole month.

Private message just_me at bitcointalk.org to arrange to get your own donation page. You can remain anonymous while you ask for donations at saveme.info

I appreciate your two cents. I just woke up from a 12 hour night shift. So you saying "I don't see you doing anything to feed yourself" looks ridiculous man. I'm working all night in a loud sometimes messy plant crushing omega 3 rich hemp and flax for the world markets.. So don't you dare have the nerve to tell me I'm not doing anything to help myself.

My 2 cents.

I'm in Brandon,MB. And the salvation army here is filled with people that in my opinion need to be helped more so then myself. I'd far rather a family have a place to sleep/eat them have myself taking up any limited resources that they may offer. Good luck with your loan. I haven't got a clue what use a netcoin is.. and am quite leary to download any wallet i do not trust..

I appreciate your concern sir. But keep your .04 if you do infact get that loan. I have enough BTC squirrreled away at the moment to get myself a pizza. :)

Yes, For A Whole Month Of Advertising Your Donation Page, I am charging 0.05 BTC as an introductory offer, to get your own donation web-page at SaveMe.info

But all anyone needs to do, is get donations that are more than their cost of 0.05 and they make a profit from having their own donation web page at SaveMe.info

For example: If a person gets 0.06 BTC in donations in the first month, then they have profited 0.01 BTC from their investment in their own donation page.

I know it may be possible for people to lose money, if they do not get enough donations, but I will be advertising for them, and they can also advertise their donation webpage as well, thereby trying to increase the amount that gets donated.

People can also ask for very valuable amounts at SaveMe.info, for example, someone might want to buy a $1000 dollar car because they and their family needs to have a car, and they pay 0.05 BTC for a month, and if they are lucky, perhaps some people donate some BTC to them. Perhaps they get 1.5 BTC in the first month. Well, they have then profited 1.45 BTC in the first month.

I need to remind you, that this price of 0.05 BTC is an introductory offer for this month only, but I may extend this cheap offer longer. I need to see how things are going first, but I believe that if people are getting 1.5 BTC donated via saveme.info in a month, then they will be able to pay more than just 0.05 BTC to have their donation page

In fact, people can even ask for much more money than that. For example, someone might want to have 100 BTC donated to them, and they are up front and telling us that they want that money for a down-payment on a house.

Now, lets get real here!!! For only 0.05 BTC someone can advertise to get over $10,000 given to them, and maybe they might get it.

And they have me working for them to advertise saveme.info and I will also be advertising their donation page at the same time.

Once you have a donation page, then you can just sit back, and check your wallet periodically to see if any donations are coming in(but I do think that if people advertise their own donation page themselves, they may increase their chances of getting more money donated to them.

 :) :)

Hail all! Hope everyone is doing well!

FInally a set of days off! Been working like a dog lately. Hopefully it is enough to get me going into housing soon.
Had a pretty bad go and ended up losing over half of my fiat in my bank.. Turns out debt creditors have a hard on for me for an old cell phone I had when i was younger that was supposed to be cancelled (it wasn't).

Been eating well now that I finally have some fiat. Trying to avoid pizza as much as possible. This friday is payday again so hopefully my accounts don't get raped like they did on the 19th. -_-

Still technically a hobo. As I am crashed out on my friends couch still (and he is still unemployed, I've been buying groceries for the household) but hopefully I can find a nice place to rent this weekend as I have saturday and sunday off of work. :)

Anyways, Just a small update for those that have been following me.

Stay safe guys,

Kyle.T

Great news everyone!!!

I have finally found a place to rent! After a month and some of being a BTC hobo I've finally found a place that will allow me to rent.
Work has been going good and today is my day off, so nice to relax before I go back to work nights thursday and friday.

A huge heart felt thank you to all those who have helped me and donated to see me through the past little bit. Without you guys I do not know what I would have done. Members of the BTC community kept me fed and gave me hope to keep going and striving for success. You all taught me a lesson in humility and showed me that there is still good in the world. And for this soon to be ex-Bit Hobo it was a great eye opener.

I will keep this thread updated as more news comes and I have time to do so. :)

Stay safe guys, And thank you again for everything.

W00T! I have found a place and move in Saturday. I work tonight and tomorrow but this weekend I finally have housing!

I want to thank everyone who believed in me and helped out with donations. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

I gotta work tonight. SO I will hopefully chat this weekend.

Later all, stay safe!

w00t!!!! I finally have moved in to my new place!

I shall take some pictures later today if I find time. Its a nice little 1 bedroom house close to a shopping center!
You guys have no idea how nice it is to sleep in a place that I pay rent for and can call my own. I still have a bit of stuff left at my friends rods house (who's couch I was sleeping on) but other then that I'm almost fully moved in!

I can steal the neighbors WIFI for now if the weather is nice so I am quite content!

I work tonight at 8pm. So I plan to relax a bit. listen to loud music and be content with my newly found lodging.

I still need to save up for some appliances such as toasters / blenders / cuttlery etc etc but all that will come in time as I work.
anyone wishing to send a housewarming gift could use the address on the first post of this thread. Not necesarry by any means now that I am working but every little bit helps me succeed and prosper.

Massive thank you to all those who had kind words and donations for me the past months. It was pretty difficult times but with your help I pulled through and finally tasted success and have a place of my own.

<3 you guys.

I guess that now makes you an OBOH (Once Broke now Occupy House).

Ain't it sad how now having a regular roof over your head you're no longer able to declare yourself a Bitcoin Hobo? Whereas I, TMIBITW (The Most Interesting Bitcoiner In The World), would be able to maintain my self-proclaimed moniker with or without a roof over my head.

Seriously, glad to see you out of the rut. Consider thrift stores, or ask people at your work if they have any unused appliance they're willing to part with. And keep the damn music down, respecting your neighbors unless, of course, it's Jethro Tull, then fuck them bastards--crank it!

I'm available to speak at all Bitcoin functions.
