Post by: Heini77 on February 23, 2018, 08:44:33 PM
Watch out for Cryptopia!!!!
I have traded many times at different exchanges but at Cryptopia: now no credit 3 times in a row.
They steal your money!
They do not credit your account and do NOT respond at Twitter or email.

I don't think they are scammers , but they are very backlogged it seems. And they are dealing with it in a very bad way. In the end you will get your money i think.

I don't believe they are scammers. I've actually traded there for many times myself without some big issues. You may try to reach to their support, although I am not sure how long you have to wait since exchanges are full of requests nowadays. If your deposit was not counted simply wait few hours maybe they have some issues with certain coin wallets if, however, your coins don't show up at end reach to their support.

I don't think they are scammers they've been in this trading game for a long time but they surely have some issues. You can't find perfect exchange.

Well, if you provide real facts and evidence as you cheated on this exchange, then I believe you and will support you in the fight against fraudsters. He has heard several similar cases, but he has not seen any evidence

Maybe you to dumb to realise the fault its on you and not the exchange, do you really pay attention what address u use to deposit or something ? anyway when you open an accusations try to link some proof like TX ID or Screenshoot to make your statment strongger. Aint nobody believe a newbie account againts exchanger that launch in 2014 and have more than 500k user in it.

People, please calm down about yelling scam any time there are delays. Yes, it is a pain when exchanges don't process your transactions quickly, but it is not a good cause to start spreading panic.

Cryptopia lately are having problems with deposits and withdraws, but I don't think they are turning into scam now.

Are your missing deposits ERC20 tokens or are other alts?

cryptopia has been recieving so much FUD lately, makes me scared to have any HODL on there...the whole flow of there site is confusing and i think probably pushes newbies away...I was and still am a newb but took on the challenge and it just felt backwards compared to binance...not a paid quote just an honest observation....they have good coin selection i guess but if they lock up everyones funds whats the point?

No need worry at all, cryptopia is safe. But please read any details by them for example do the deposit and withdraw option is available or not. Sometimes they maintenance some wallet so you cant get your fund out or in to that exchange. Also their support is doing fine, i mean is not fast but in one day they clear my trouble and answer all my questions.

I have made many transactions using Cryptopia and fortunatetly i never experience delay or losing my coins. They have problem with their system now but they are working on it and always making constant update to their issues in which they keep it posted in their news section. Try to send complaint email with your transaction hash to their support before spreading your bad experiences. https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/News

They're not scammers and i don't have any bad issue with them, prove it here that you are scammed by this exchange. Provide a copy of your screenshots and post it here so people will get notice about their behaviour. if this is true then we could report this accusations.

I would think twice before calling them scammers. They may have a malfunctioning support and some scaling problems, which have led them by the wat to have big delays in the withdrawals of funds, but as far as I know they still have scammed nobody.

It was just for selective persons and not on general. I wonder why you didn't refrain deposit on 2nd try and you just did some 3rd try.

It's really frustrating to experienced a thing like that in an exchange and I understand that part. Now since people have no other choice but to contact them, try to extend your patience reaching them in a good way. I think tickets with offensive content are not entertained so let's be a plastic here for some time. Hope you can get back what is lost.

I haven't heard anything bad about Cryptopia so I think this is just a backlog on their end. The transaction I've done weeks ago went well I haven't experienced any problem recently. Try to contact them again and again about your case. I don't really consider and exchange a scam unless they shutdown with no one to contact about your investments.

From my lack of experience I can't really say if it's really a scam or not, however it would be good if you could provide us with some proof first, instead you're just assuming they're scamming you. You should add some proper evidence.

I have been using cryptopia since I joined the crypto world without any issues. I haven't used for past month or so but I never had any issues. They did mention that recent influx of people in crypto may have delayed certain things but shouldn't be calling it scam without proof.

It's an exageration to condamn a trusted team in cryptopia to be scammers with the very high daily volume in it but issues always happen and technical support may get overstack. Many users are facing a lot of issues due to lack of knowledge how to use the service of this platform. I found this thread published about two months ago where publisher also suffer from a technical problem and can't reach the support: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2673828.0
You should keep trying to get in touch with the support or no one will claim your lost funds.

hmmm ... i can not believe your words. At least you must have proof to prove they have stolen your money. You need to gather evidence like the image of your transaction.
If you have actually been duped, you can connect the Telegram of Cryptopia to the negotiation. Maybe they have some minor glitches in their system. Hope you will find your money again.

I've been using cryptopia for about a year already. I can say that crediting deposits to accounts takes a longer time with them. But it's always arrive in 15- 30mins. Actually I experienced one time that my deposit isn't credited, I made a support ticket and it has been resolved within two days. For me, Cryptopia is a good exchange.

I have traded in cryptopia for 2 months now and i didn't see any discrepancies during trading. Maybe there was something wrong with the trading volume of the coins that you are going to exchange. Regarding of support group maybe they receive a tons of support request that's the reason why they are not so quickly responsive rest assured cryptopia is not a scam exchange.

maybe you should be more patient, cryptopia is sometimes so. but for 'scam' I think not for cryptopia. if yobit may be more appropriate to get the status 'scam'

usually, the deposit and withdrawal issues for cryptopia will be completed in 3 or 5 days.
I've also experienced similar things.
in 5 days is complete. they are not too reply to the ticket in support. but the problem is complete.

I also think we need to have pictures of transactions as well as orders without seeing any signs. It is impossible to claim any basis as scams if there is no accurate evidence.
I think that the buy order/sell commands are too high so the orders have not made, so check the order you can see this has occurred.

Before saying such loud words, you need proof.  If you are offended at the stock exchange, that your transaction is going on for a long time or other problems, then try to solve this issue through support.  There are problems and shortcomings on almost all exchanges.  And cryptopia in my opinion is one of the good stock exchanges.

Yeah, you have to show some necessary attachments that could back up your claim so that we will take a look into it and know the real deal of your complaints. If you are not doing this here, I hope you did it when you sent your complaints to the support of Cryptopia. I think they will respond to it a bit faster and efficiently if you are supporting your complaint with evidences. For quite some time that I am using Cryptopia, I have not encountered a single instance when I felt being scammed or cheated. I guess there were just some technical glitches involved in your case.

I never had any issues with them, apart from the outdated and slow interface. I miss LTC pairs though, was very convenient to move my funds from and to the exchange. When big players cancel the registration of new users, this one could be a door for new investors to crypto. But decentralized exchange will make all these exchanges obsolete in the future.

Yes, now there are problems with deposits and conclusions-but I think it is because of the congestion of the site-support is not enough. I did not notice problems on the site for the second year, I did not notice any problems without payment, deposits too. In the chat a lot has been written recently about delays, and Markets removed why?

It's true! ... I transferred many Pirls for 6 days and they have not credited to my account NOR A CENT. The coin does not stop falling and I can not sell it. I'm losing a lot of money. They do not give any kind of response. I'm desperate.

Cryptopia is a fraud. In the last 6 I transferred 12 times and they did not credit a single cent in my account. I sent them 2 claim tickets and they did not answer a single one. The forums do not respond, Twitter does not respond. They are a disaster.
It worked well for a while but now it's a disaster.
It is possible that they suffered hacking and did not report it.
The coins i send are falling in price and i cant sell. If at any time you credit it in my account I will have half the money I initially transferred. WE ARE NOT LYING. I can send you all the evidence you want. They are criminals. Surely you work for them. It's the only way you could defend them like that and discredit us without knowing absolutely anything about our case.
To anyone who asks me, I can send them the evidence. I'm waiting. >:( >:( >:( >:(

Some TX IDs and a screenshot of your deposit screen?  Sure I've had the odd delay there too but never for more than a couple of days (only with a VIVO deposit that got stuck).

I think they will have the problems fixed soon, they have been working overtime on their scaling issues since the start of the year.

I fully agree with your great talk.
They are not be scammer, they gives service very well. Every time can not be work proper there has many issue, such as internet problem, server problem, wallet maintenance etc.
So wait and see the future. Best luck of trading.

I need my money now. Not in a month. Do you understand that?
If they keep my money for a week. That's not normal.
It is permissible a delay of hours or 2 days at most. But 7 days ???
Do you think a good service ?? .. 7 days without having my money. The coins are losing their price and I can not sell them.
SERVICE IS BAD !!. I think you have distorted the notion of the responsibility of a company that manages your funds.

I have problems with Cryptopia too.
I made a transaction with Innova to my Cryptopia wallet.
In the Innova block explorer you can see that the transfer was ok. Further you see that someone transfer the INN after 1 hour to another account. In this account they collect more INN.

Never did see any deposit in my Innova Cryptopia wallet.

Then when you look further in the block explorer you see that they collect exact 1000 INN in 1 account.
1000 Innova are needed for 1 MN.

But they need to do something for now omg. Saying you're hiring is great, but what about right now? It might not be a popular opinion but maybe just desist all the shitcoins that no one trades anyway (except the occasional pump and dump) then save the bandwidth for coins that matter. It's so laggy it's ridiculous. I've actually spent over and hour trying to put an order through. Not an exaggeration.

Nope, Cryptopia isn't a scam. Without them, I don't have an awesome Christmas gift for myself when cashing out my BTC to fiat currency. I deposited one token from MEW to Cryptopia, and then converted it to BTC.

I honestly think Cryptopia is legit, no question about it. However, issues like this can be addressed properly just like your case. I think you'll be doing a FUD strategy to manipulate them to dump their tokens so that you can buy at lower prices. Nice try haha.

I don't think Cryptopia will scam you, or any of its users for that matter. That is not possible at all. Cryptopia is a trusted crypto exchange platform that has been serving the crypto traders and enthusiasts for a considerable amount of time already. And for a significant amount of time that I have been using Cryptopia, I have not been unlucky enough to encounter such problems with their site. Perhaps your problem is on a more individual level. Just send a support ticket to them and they will get you back in no time.

I have also experienced same thing. I have bitcoin transaction issue one month ago transferred to cryptopia exchange. After many attempts to mail my concern to their customer e-mail address, no response till yet now. That transaction is cleared from bitcoin blockchain, but it was never transferred to my cryptopia exchange.  I have issued multiple tickets for that same issue of bitcoin transferred issue, which is still not yet resolved. I have given all transaction ID, date of transfer, everything in mail, but they never replied me. I have still not that amount of bitcoin transferred to my Cryptopia exchange, which I set my mind that I lost that particular amount of money for bitcoin transferred.

Watch out for Cryptopia!!!!
I have traded many times at different exchanges but at Cryptopia: now no credit 3 times in a row.
They steal your money!
They do not credit your account and do NOT respond at Twitter or email.

can you show some proof!!!!!

Just look on Google for cryptopia scam. Make up your own mind. If you get robbed you were warned don't cry on the forums when you have members with 500 merit warning you not to trade there.

Look what cryptopia has done to many coins by breaking wallets and not allowing taking your money out.

There are reports that stocks exchange and cryptopia take your deposit to make a master node to get node rewards they sell them this is why the coin crashes because they constantly dump rewards.

One reason why master nodes should be removed from coins. Master nodes coins are scams for this reason

I think it goes too far to call it a scam.
Have you solved your issue yet?
I have some fund in Cryptopia. I am wondering if I should withdraw it.

I think you can withdraw it because only small problem facing by member is not enough to call scam.
I have fund and i am fine so far. So i never have trouble with them so thats why i continue use their service

What are you trying to prove with this theme? You think the cryptoexchange with a huge turnover of the cryptocurrencies, will deal with such matters of which you say?
I would not believe the information from a beginner, with a few messages! If you want to be believed, provide proof that we were sure that this is not your fantasy. In the meantime, your topic is not different from other liars who are trying to drop the rating of other projects, exchanges, coins...

I've also noticed the customer service and response time of Cryptopia getting worse and worse over time.  It's a shame, they used to be a great place, but now I use one of the many other alternates.  Can say I haven't been scammed by them before, but now I never use them to give them the chance to.

Free tip: always check wallet status to see if you can go through a transaction; https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo. Also do a transaction test w/ a small amount before sending all your coins to see if everything is ok.

I've had my fair share of problems with them in the past but I wouldn't call it a scam. Their support is so backlogged that it takes days to address any issues though. They've always fixed it eventually for me though.

it seems you have to include some real evidence if the market is a scam, in the sense that if your deposit does not enter whether you already know in cryptopia also give notice if sending any coin there is a minimum deposit? and if to send bitcoin you should see the transaction whether it is in confirmation or belu, or you try to contact suport and make a ticket that can help your problem.

The accusations are very serious are you sure it is not something that is only happening to you for some reason instead of a generalized policy because that is the way you make it out to be and if that was the case the forum will be filled with threads like these and people very mad that they are not able to get their money and yours is the only topic I see about that subject.

My withdraws "processing" since 15. February. Total worth of 1.8btc. Opened ticket in 16. February. No answer.
I was going to put up 4 masternodes so I lose money everyday. And one coin is going to have coin swap so soon I'll only lose more money.

Well, they do say you have to allow them 39 days to respond ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Clearly they have taken in too many users and cannot keep up scaling to support such a large userbase.

Many of these exchanges are startups dealing badly with the fact that they are scaling (growing) quicket than they can cope with. Even Kraken was blocked from accepting new traders for like a month in December. So these glitches will occur, you have to be just patient. If they indeed scam, it will kill their business in a week, so they have no incentive to do this if the business is going well.

Help me to understand how the ICO investors choose and monitor the ICOs they invest in. If you ever invested in at least one ICO fill in this questionnaire (below). Our aim is to build community due diligence initiative to screen the ICO projects for the community and help you decide which project to support.

This is a message specifically for you Yana_M1.

I am the CEO of Cryptopia. I can tell you unequivocally that Cryptopia has never stolen anyone's money. We respond to every email and we have a brand-new very comprehensive support ticketing system that sees every single inbound enquiry, complaint or issue and they're all dealt with within 24 hours.

if you send a message to our support team I can guarantee that you will get a response within 24 hours and I can absolutely guarantee that Cryptopia has never been backed, has never stolen anyone's money, and is there 24/7 to support you.

I can also tell you that anyone who has complained about having funds stolen or coins stolen for that matter have invariably lost because someone has compromised their own account by logging in with their credentials. Nothing to do with Cryptopia or our security. We offer many forms of security to prevent people getting into your account and if anything the only complaint we get is from legitimate account holders who have misplaced their credentials.

I generally try and find time to read as many of the forums, Facebook pages and group pages they can and will directly address whenever there is an opportunity a concern.

We have a support team in New Zealand at our head office and we have another support team in the UK so that we can monitor our request 24 7 to make sure there are no delays.

If Cryptopia had been hacked you would have heard about in the news, if we had dishonest employees they would have been dismissed and prosecuted and if we had a technical problem you would have read about it on the main site.

I invite you to send a full letter of complaint outlining every aspect of your loss so that we can look into it and remedy the situation. Please address your concerns directly to the helpdesk team of which there are many ways to get in contact with them from our main website.  Please do not hesitate to get in contact with us with any queries you have and I will once again, guarantee, that you will hear from us within 24 hours.

Yours sincerely
Alan Booth
CEO Cryptopia

So i tried to contact support, i get an email follow this link to see moderator reply and guess what?

I have to login to my cryptopia to see the reply. The original problem is i cant login.

Its like that error from Microsoft back in the day, "no keyboard found press enter to continue"

I reply to same email that i cant login and i get a reply this time on the email not follow this link to see the reply,
and i get some response

"Thanks for contacting Cryptopia.

I've had a look at your account and it hasn't been locked lately. If you're referring to a different account, please let me know the account you're referring to and I'll be happy to have a look for you.

Kind regards,

Cryptopia Support"

I never said the account is locked, i reply again(with screenshot of my account), being days now nothing.

Its like am talking to a bot or people are stupid.

So you tell me now whenever this is resolved, if ever is resolved, if i will continue to use this exchange?

I just accepted buy now that i lost my money. Because for me now its a SCAM.

For a simple thing like this, which wasnt my fault!!. I used the website for few days, logged in multiple times, throws me out one day like this,

Almost all of the exChanges has no pure form of customer service. Even the top 5 HitBtc also solve your query very late that could take 2 or 3 months. So, as in the case of Cryptopia it is a very low volume trades exchange. So, service may be poor. But, deposit and withdrawals take place correctly. If you have any problem regarding your deposit then check out the problem from the source at first.

Exchanges also need to make money, and when they can't make money from transaction fees, chances are other ways. For example, if a lie is hacked and then closed, it is actually stealing the funds. This kind of thing happened before.

I don't think Cryptopia could be called as SCAM because of Cryptopia exchange demand quite high listing fee. That's show at least only legit altcoin/project with fund able to be on Cryptopia.
If it was a SCAM then they would list for free to lure in deposits.

Cryptopia exchange has been consistent in my own opinion. I have traded on the exchange for months and all my deposit and withdraw are credit as when it should. I think cryptopia has a moderate consistent service that is good.

Cryptopia is not a scam. but they have a bad support if you have a problem.

so if you want to exchange in a large you can choose the other exchanger like binance or other big exchanger.

cause when your coin stuck, and you try to email their support team. it's too hard for them to reply your email.

I used cryptopia for a long time and never have a problem with them beside the ridiculous withdrawal fee, maybe you send to the wrong wallet address or your transaction still not confirmed because of the congested network? it's definitely better to provide some proof of your claim so people will believe in you more and be more careful with cryptopia in the future.

I trade on Cryptopia. Support really answers for a long time. But anyway all questions are always solved. One day my account was hacked and slow support saved me from stealing my cryptocurrency.

I traded some of my altcoins in cryptopia with no problems at all and i still have many tokens out there, i don't think so that they are scam, sometimes people will react on their own failures, prove your issues first.

Maybe you jumped into conclusion and didn't chill a lil more. If cryptopia is scam I think alot of campaign would be against the exchange right now and people won't be trading on it or using the exchange. Try contacting support first and wait for the outcome.

Cryptopia is not a scam.
They just have outdated servers that constantly cause coins to not be credited properly.
This has been a problem with all of the older exchanges or exchanges that deal with fiat.

That's why everyone embraced binance so much.
The exchange itself was built on a much more advanced stack and doesn't even bother with fiat.
That's why it runs so smoothly.

Actually, almost all of the big name exchanges are fading into existence.
Poloniex, kraken, Cryptopia, hitbtc, etc. just can't keep up.
In order for them to update their exchange, they would literally have to shut down all trading and take weeks to a month to upgrade everything.
Yeah, I don't see them doing that.

I have been trading in cryptopia and all I can say is it's good aside from transaction fees. May its good for you to provide proof on your claim that cryptopia is a scam. Also, try to see if you internet connection is stable when you are trading to avoid delays on on your trades.

Like not a bad exchange, for small trades. Sometimes there are tokens that do not appear on other exchanges. In any case, this is not the top market, which means there is no point in keeping big deposits there

I had to trade at the different exchanges including on Cryptopia too. No problems at me arose. The friend uses still and too everything is all right too. You can open a problem which at you appeared with this exchange that all could understand in what business that occurred. Because from your words nothing is clear.

I think you did something wrong , because I have no issues with Cryptopia . It's an old exchange with good reputation and I think they are fair with their users . Did you contact with their support about your issue ? What was their answer ?

Good warning to others though, but maybe you can investigate any further to make your claims really true because there are really times that cryptomarket are going into a tough situation when they have technical problems and all other reasons that they could not even announce early.

I have also used cryptopia for a very long time and have not had any problems. Sometimes the transaction processing is slow But everything is fine after that. I think that guy does not lose money, he just panic when the balance in the account disappears when the exchange problems

First, you put your thread on a wrong place, it should be placed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Second, which one coins you mean ? have you deposit your coin to the right address?

Third, I don't believe what have you said, I never had a problem with Cryptopia since the first time I used.

Fourth, If their support NOT responds to you at Twitter or email, maybe you are trying to contact them too much. and then cryptopia support thinks you are a spammer, so they don't want to respond to you...

This is my own personal observation and opinion.

People think all exchanges are created equal and do the same things. They are not.

https://www.blockchaintransparency.org/reports/

Quote
A few differences can be seen where a few exchanges such as Bittrex, Kucoin, Cryptopia, and Bithumb have much higher unique visitor counts than their volume would expect to show.  This gives further evidence of their accuracy as they could report much higher volume.  Instead they appear to be accurately reporting that their users spend less per session.  These exchanges trade many low cap coins and with most of the big volume spenders on high market cap coins these numbers fall in line with the accuracy of their reporting.  Cryptopia, well known for having low liquidity on many of its coins naturally has one of the lowest dollar amount traded per visitor per day inside the top 50.

There are distinct differences between exchanges. One of the distinct difference between Cryptopia and most other exchanges is the sheer number of coins they have listed.

They are one of the top exchanges for both promising newcomers and shitcoins. In terms of coin trading volume - they are huge. The coins traded are low value so the value traded (market cap in $) is much lower than some other platforms.

But the amount of transactions that take place on their trade engine and the volume of coins traded is huge.

Small new coin networks with new blockchain and wallet code tends to cause more problems than established coins. Cryptopia is the exchange that can often make or break how a coin is going to do in the big wide world. I have personally benefited from buying coins there that were unknowns and now are considered mainstream.

Trading value (market cap)  is not the only factor to look at. Much of the market cap on some exchanges is fake volume created by bots operated by an exchange and incentive low or no fee trading by coin developers themselves.

Recently hacked exchange Zaif (https://www.coindesk.com/crypto-exchange-zaif-hacked-in-60-million-6000-bitcoin-theft/) is an example on how due to a system glitch  (https://cryptonewsmagnet.com/free-bitcoins-zaif-land-japanese-exchange-regulatory-fix/) it sold more bitcoins than there are bitcoins in existence.

Then there is the Bitfinex tether issue: https://medium.com/@eklavya9/the-tether-bitfinex-scam-might-be-a-lot-more-elegant-than-what-most-people-think-and-might-hurt-54616255e7c1

That's why everyone embraced binance so much.
The exchange itself was built on a much more advanced stack and doesn't even bother with fiat.
That's why it runs so smoothly.

Binance is an exceptional platform with 382 markets and the lead in the value of volume traded. They are a relative newcomer and had a lot of funds to start their platform with in comparison to some of the other exchanges. It now turns over $900 million daily.
Their ICO raised a lot of funds and they were able to take advantage of the 2017 crypto boom.

But try getting an new coin listed on Binance....

Cryptopia is not a scam.
They just have outdated servers that constantly cause coins to not be credited properly.
This has been a problem with all of the older exchanges or exchanges that deal with fiat.

Cryptopia has 697 coin markets and turns over $4 million daily. In early 2017 they were run by 2-3 part time staff and volunteers. Now they employ a team of over 100 staff. During the peak of December 2017 / January 2018 their platform was struggling with the sheer demand from the massive increase in users - as a result they trained more staff, set up a UK office, improved their back-end software, changed their management structure and made numerous other improvements.

After taking advantage of the 2017/2018 crypto boom they upgraded a lot of their infrastructure and as they say - the proof will be in the pudding.

The coins not being credited are not due to outdated servers - the primary issue is with the coin wallet code - code developed by the coins themselves.
The coins that cause issues are generally the same coins due to outdated leveldb libraries being used (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2030529.msg21983082#msg21983082) and other issues due to the coins being cloned from outdated source code. Why are there hardly any issues with BTC, LTC and Doge that have the most volume ? Because the wallet code is better.

Running a personal wallet with a few hundred transactions is not the same as running an exchange wallet on an enterprise scale with hundreds of transactions hourly or daily. It results in dust issues and issues with the wallet code not coping with the number of stored transactions. Resulting in slow syncing and even wallets not wanting to fully sync at all.

A lot of the large exchanges have concentrated on becoming legitimate trading platforms in the eyes of the authorities of the countries that they reside in.
Crypto is still in the infancy of the growth and regulation. Platform security, Hot wallet strategies, Government regulation, Anti Money Laundering rules and Taxation issues are all eventually going to catch up with exchanges that don't take it seriously.
