Title: Anyone else in U.S.A. having trouble at GDAX?
Post by: kk80586 on February 23, 2018, 11:52:21 PM
Went to GDAX and it says trading not available yet in my area. I withdrew everything to wallets. Don't know if it is a glitch or the way it is for awhile?

they might have changed their policy on US based customers
or you logged in thru banned country proxy
I have no coinbase/gdax account, can't try it for myself

Thanks for reply. Connecting as normal, no TOR or anything. I'm just glad I had wallets at the ready and was able to withdraw.

It's state-by-state, so without knowing where you reside (or where you logged in from), it's tough to say. Last I checked, GDAX only had money transmitter licenses in 36 states, so they definitely don't serve all states.

They did stop servicing Hawaii around this time last year (https://blog.coinbase.com/how-bad-policy-harms-coinbase-customers-in-hawaii-ac9970d49b34) due to burdensome requirements from the Hawaii Division of Financial Institutions, but I haven't heard of any similar terminations in service since then. I don't see anything on the Coinbase blog (https://blog.coinbase.com/), either. I'm also a US resident -- no issues trading on GDAX here. It might have been a glitch, but if your state isn't listed here (https://www.coinbase.com/legal/licenses), trading may actually be unavailable.

I've had the most difficult time trying to get verified.  I have had my Coinbase acct. for months, yet when I try to verify on GDAX it gets to a part that asks where I last worked and what I did.  Every time I fill it out it says that it doesn't match.  I KNOW everything else matches.  I can not for the life of me figure out how or why they can't verify me.  Customer service never answers my emails.  It can only be those two questions that don't match and that's probably only due to a spelling error or whoever they verify with doesn't have my latest employment information.  It's so frustrating!
