Post by: mdayonliner on February 24, 2018, 06:59:32 PM
From early Jan to till now I would like to know how is your crypto currency trading going on? To me, market is not stable. I bought lot's of ALTs and all of them are down. Some of them are even over 70% down. How are things going on with you too?

Appreciate sharing your experience.

Thanks

This is one of the post I made long ago. Additional to this I have added more alts in my portfolio.

On 10th I bought these coins...

QLC             665.39235960        spent 0.04669735 BTC now value 0.02208817
DBC           3489.01913490        spent 0.11399558 BTC    now value 0.04789097
UTK             999.14623990          spent 0.07351075 BTC now value 0.04367548
TRX         11704.11100000        spent  0.11480700 BTC now value 0.07415842
VTC              43.46405229          spent 0.01995629 BTC now value 0.01713204
MUSIC      6321.99316783          spent 0.04531524 BTC now value 0.02180519

If you notice in all these coins I am in HUGE lose. I am holding this of course. Coz I would never sell my coins in lose. I did in past but learnt my lessons.

How do you handle when you are in my situation.

I started to buy BTC for 8000 $ , then part of the funds began to buy altcoins . Now of course a lot in drawdown , but I think it's not long

I have not been selling anything since the new year, too unprofitable positions. I spend Ethereum, NEO and not much bitcoin to participate in the most promising ICOs, as there is not enough money for everything. And I can not refill the balance from selling altcoins. This is how my trade looks. Only rare purchases.

It’s still negative for me
From buying monero gold , to investing in hawala lcwp bitcoinwhite, litecoin and have been affected a lot by the bloodbath

I have waves tho with more profit that others, but I think once BTC is stable, everything will come together to the moon

It is pretty rough for most of us because the market is failing almost every other day,but we need to know that is how the market works, manipulations from the big guys cannot be stopped but we can learn how to adjust with any situations, you just need to be vigillant ,be alert and im sure you wont be trapped to any coins again,i suggest go stick with the solid altcoin when the market has started to fail, always use cutlosses so you wont regret whenever the market has crashed.

Yeah altcoin tradings are not profitable nowadays. It is even impossible to keep bitcoin balance stable trading alts. It is better to just stay in bitcoin.

I'm more of an investor and a holder than a trader. I try to buy for a long time and wait for the pump. Wait a few months.

Yes, most of my assets on the cryptocurrency market are altcoin trading. I choose to invest in altcoin because it's great potential and can make a lot of money for my investment. But to choose a potential altcoin for investment is not easy so you must really study thoroughly before deciding to invest in an altcoin.

When I had checked my alts in portfolio everything went down. I had bought some at ath price then it went drops down suddenly. When the market was like this I just hold into my coins rather than selling and got panic all. Thus, I just wait when it will rose on earning profit.

I'm not trading altcoins for other altcoins right now. Market is too volatile right now to make any good gains. I would trade altcoins for btc since I plan on holding that long term and believe btc will be worth a lot in the future.

I do not make long day trading. Because he helped me realize that I made huge losses in my trading days. I think it makes more sense to buy and hold it for a long time.

This month is literally the worst month for me. I missed so many chances to get easy x2 or x3 in just a matter of days. Oh shit... I think I'm a 'weak hand' right now lol.
My altcoins are bleeding too! I'm losing so much as well this month, I hope everything will turn out better for us in the next days, and remember : "Day Trading Sucks!!!". Or for me at least.
I hope you will recover your losses and be loyal to altcoins! But market is not stable right now, so I think it's good to stop trading for a while bro. Stay success and goodluck! :)

Yes ofcourse i am trading altcoins because these coins has more movements than these solid coins like bitcoin, ethereum, and neo.Low marketcap altcoins has a lot of potentials because it could grow upto x1000 or more that depends on the community's support because if the project has really good intention most of the investors will surely invest to these altcoins,it altcoins i could make 10-15% daily average gains.

To me, the situation nowadays less profitable for trading some altcoin. Lately, I try to trading TEN (Tokenomy) token on my local exchange. It really goes badly, prices are move from around $2 to $0.5. Cut loss is the only way to reduce the losses or hold it for long time.

You have a good decision to hold your coins because the market right now are not stable Im also trading altcoin and gain a little profit but when the bitcoin start to falling down I limit my trading because bitcoin is not fully recover after the dramatically dump happen, you cannot gain a good profit because of this situation.

I'm trading alts but i was selling all of my portfolio last year and i have bought more altcoin when they are on the bottom, some days before chinese day. But in my portfolio they are all increasing a lot. I was buying them all when bitcoin worth 6k dollars for each bitcoin. But many people are getting the same thing like you, they are getting stuck at the top and it's so difficult to get out.

I had a lot of altcoins in my deposit. I sold most of them when market bounced back, even in the red and anyway have huge losses. I deside not to open new positions and wait for positive news and uptrend, only participate in some ICOs that I like.

Since January, Ive been taking a lot of risk. There is no denying that this month have shown tremendous drop in the market reaching the point of red weeks in the . Instead of seeing it as a bad season, I take the risk to buy coin as much as I could. Ive seen many old coin that has drop so hard which allows me to buy greater volume. Aside from buying well known coins, I ve also bought coins that are newly introduced, the drop of price really gives me greater volume of coin comparing to the days before when I am buying one.

I am not yet trading. This time is a very bad time to start trading because as you said, almost all are down and it will only result into money loss. I might start trading next month because my money will be given by that time and I will choose wisely the alts that has the most potential. May I ask what alts did you bought? It might give me a reference and that will really save me from doing bad decisions in trading.

It is quite unpredictable right now, the price of bitcoins has been so volatile recently that it is quite hard to read the market whether it would rise or fall instantly. Whenever there is a push for bitcoin prices to go up, alts will go down inversely. With this kinds of price movements with big swings, it is quite scary to place trades as it could turn out that you're at the losing end.

you can sell your alt in loosses, then buy more in deep price, but, if you predict the price of your alt will down more
so you can collect more alt, then if the price is growing you can make a double profit my friend  ;)

Altcoin trading it's profitable, the thing is that you may not have chosen a good moment to start trading. Market's pretty much on red everyday since the beginning of 2018. This a good time to buy long-term coins like XRP, NEO or IOTA

Yes I like trading other than bitcoin, because altcoin is one good alternative. the price is cheap and the chart is also up and down so it is very suitable for trading. I ever buy ETH and profit that I can reach 30%.

I bought coins that hit in the market that few months ago I did a short trade with it until time comes the price failed down then I had bought it in a high price until now that coins is still there and I still waiting for it to rise up again. This is the actual happenings when we get into trading so we must be prepared like this situation.

I think running the current trade is very risky. because the market price is very very pluktuatif and risky losses occur. better for now you turn it into an investment it may be more secure and profitable future.

indeed profit trading jan-feb, very uncertain, my advice take the lowest price in recent days and do not force trading if the market is really not support, and if the price keeps falling then you have to dare cut loss, because that's what saves trader of many losses

Have some patience Alt coin season will bloom atleast on Q2 . Never sell in loss . If You have invested in good coins no matter where they are now, They going to surely deliver . You have bought Alts when they were high on last ALT season and You will get profits on next Alt season.

If the price is lower than the purchase price let alone drastically down to 70% I think it is very suffocating, I think you better be patient to keep it, Hodl the best way because this seems to be going on a market correction.

My crypto currency trading is doing fine because I'm just looking for a good price to trade with. I avoiding the tokens or coins which have a very low price, I am checking always which one is the best to trade. I have some many tokens in altcoins and I am patiently waiting for my tokens to got a good price to have a lot of profit.

You should really put your self into it and not just "it looks interesting" because it really is, however, its very hard at the beginning. Just look at how much the OP has already lost in his investment. You have to take it seriously otherwise you might end up losing everything in the end.

I have a few alts and I only hope max 3-4 coins simultaneously. Why? because I can't devote much time on it because of other things in real life. But I enjoyed taking profits specially during the crazy price swings in December.

But just like they say, invest what you can afford to lose, so that you will not be disappointed or fearful if everything suddenly went red, just like what we are in right now.

Yes i'm trading alts, do you know that alts are good for bearish market and it's not an advice to trade on a daily basis coz the market is volatile. You need to think before you click a single amount of trades or else you will lose some.

Title: Re: Are you trading ALTs?
Post by: JanpriX on February 25, 2018, 03:15:26 AM
Actually, for veteran traders, they enjoy this unstable market that we are having right now. They see several opportunities in the market to buy at very low prices due to this instability and to take huge profit once the market recovers.

As for me, I'm currently trading/buying POS and Masternode coins. These type of coins provide stable passive income even if the market is turning into a bearish one. And upon checking, it is quite profitable in the long run, especially the masternode ones. Though you to have several BTCs to buy some legit MN as they are quite expensive.

Trading with altcoins using my btc are quit profitable for me and it works for me well. Though its risky but I’m confident with my trading skills even the market is highly volatile right now. Its good to trade as long as you know how to done it properly because you can loss your money there easily.

I have also experiencing what you stated above. I was waiting increase the price of all of my holding coins. Everyday I was checking my token on the list of exchange and I was unfortunate on it. If bitcoin price was going high then my coin value was dropping and that was sad on it. I want to trade that both has a higher value, the alts and BTC. What I'm going to do now is to hold my coin and wait to moon.

Its exactly the same here on the other part of the world. While the crypto market is always unstable for it always shows signs of volatility, the instability it is showing right now has some sort of strong and negative impact to the people who really would have wanted to join the crypto community after how the altcoins rallied so aggressively late last year. My altcoins are suffering so bad right now and I really do not want to check my portfolio anymore.

When the price of altcoins is low, I do not sell coins.  At this point, I only buy altcoins, which were expensive, but now the price has fallen, and coins which will later grow well. For example, I like now the price of CAPP, ADA, ETH.

I do hold some coins. Would never just have bitcoin in my pocket as I believe in diversification, however, you have to find coins that will beat bitcoin in the long term. That is what I did. Found 6-7 coins that have a huge potential in the next 2-5 years, did my homework and I just sit and do dollar cost averaging.

While I think that this "alt" divide is pretty pointless in this day and age, I only have altcoins - I sold my last BTC some time ago. There's simply not enough chances for me to make any worthwhile gains with BTC, so it's alts all the way for me.

My trading experience is such a nightmare! I buy ripple(XRP) in December with the price of $1.80 and also I invest in reddcoin(RDD) with the price of 0.00000144 and it’s almost down into 50%. I’m so disappointed. But I’ll never do cutting loss and I can wait in many years until the price will recover and gives some profits...

It is the case with most of the traders as right now the market is very unpredictable and is not stable at all.People who has done buying before Jan or in Jan,for them hold is the only option. In my case i had been lucky to not to invest in many coins simultaneously.I have invested in very few coin like ETH,Ripple and Offcourse Bitcoin. They all are more or less stable and according me will give great returns in future too.In your case my advise would be to hold each coin and follow the trends and balance all coin with loss and profit soo that you can atleast gain what you have invested.

Yeah the crypto market is on a downward spiral at present. But given the volatile nature of the market, i am sure it will go up. So at present, i am holding onto my coins in which I have invested. I am thinking I will sell it when the market will go up. So the better option is just hodl for a few months for better return.

My trading experience is such a nightmare! I buy ripple(XRP) in December with the price of $1.80 and also I invest in reddcoin(RDD) with the price of 0.00000144 and it’s almost down into 50%. I’m so disappointed. But I’ll never do cutting loss and I can wait in many years until the price will recover and gives some profits...
yeah, the market coins are now unstable, all the coin prices down, we can see on the charts, yes maybe if you wait to recover your price like your buying maybe more it will be very long and saturated to waiting, why you not try sell and buying again, using your prediction when your analysis thats coins will goin down again sell waiting go and buying again so you will have more than coins and you can keep for long term.

When the price of altcoins is low, I do not sell coins.  At this point, I only buy altcoins, which were expensive, but now the price has fallen, and coins which will later grow well. For example, I like now the price of CAPP, ADA, ETH.
I also trade altcoin but I never try to by some of altcoin, I just get coins by joining bounty campaign of each projects. Trading alts are profitable because you can set order so that you cannot have to watch over the market price from time to time. I hold some coins which are potential to grow and increase the price in the market.

Yes, I am trading the altcoins. But I did not invest too much in them because I was not sure about their price increase or decrease. I just concentrate on making money from ICO projects, I do signature campaigns to get bonuses. I think my current job is safe and not risky. This job just takes a little time and the amount you get is quite large.

Yeah altcoin tradings are not profitable nowadays. It is even impossible to keep bitcoin balance stable trading alts. It is better to just stay in bitcoin.

Trading alts are always still profitable. Bitcoin now is much more stable compared last december so we can't generate more profit if we only stick to bitcoin. There a lot of altcoins today that are down and has the potetial to go to moon someday, we just need to find it and have more patience on it. Like they say "the more the merrier", and since the market is down, I bought bunch of alts! :D

I advise you to wait a little, and I'm sure you can earn on your Altcoins.

From early Jan to till now I would like to know how is your crypto currency trading going on? To me, market is not stable. I bought lot's of ALTs and all of them are down. Some of them are even over 70% down. How are things going on with you too?

Appreciate sharing your experience.

Thanks

Take this time of low price into your advantage. Having down market gives us opportunity to cost averaging the altcoins in our portfolio. At the moment fundamentally and technically this time is not that good for trading activities. BTC and altcoins moves erratic and hard to predict its movement.

Yes, I think it is one of the best ways of buying in cheaper and then reselling it for a higher price.

In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on Pre-ICO stage right now, you can check their website: https://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2659058.0

Well I too have invested in some altcoins and on some ICOs that I absolutely believe in. But damn, I gotta say, at times like these, I really am starting to question the accuracy of my judgment. It really is very hard to look at all your investments  fading away without you having anything to do to prevent it. I admit, sometimes I really start to think of selling even when I really believe on my investments. But even so, I still do not sell. I just say to myself that since I already lost a lot, I will just go all in on this and hold rather than cut losses and regret when prices rise again.

In my case, I am still not trading my coins. The coins I am holding are extremely low right now and is far from their ICO prices. The market is currently recalibrating and this is normal for the first few months of the year. The market is anticipated to be normal during mid year like March, April or May. I will be patient and I will wait for the peak prices.

warren buffet said something like this if you want to preserve your wealth diversification is the way, but if you want to build your wealth concentre for small things.
So far with diversification strategy I down like 20-30%. It's fine though and I will go to route 2,focus more on 1 coins.

Yeah market is not stable, and I'm hodling all my altcoins, when storm pass then I can trade again but at this state, I won't trade for a while. This time is dangerous for short term transactions, I suggest to wait to you also.

Almost all of altcoin price are drops for several months later, but we have to be optimistic that the price will increase in the next few month. so needs more patience to make profit. I will learn about trading altcoin effectively, and hope it  will maximize the profit.

Trading altcoins is the best way to makr huge profit on your investment from crypto currency even though the market fluctuations is some how high in some occasion. And If you invest your money in altcoins and the is going against your position i advise you to keep holding for what come down must go up in no distance time.

I do not going through about my coins.
Yes, they fell heavily in price, but I only typed good coins into the portfolio, so I'm sure of them.
When the market stabilizes, these coins will become even more expensive than they were before the global fall.
For me, the main thing now is to wait.

Now that the market is down, I used it as a opportunity to buy TRX and ADA, I really believe this two have a good future at the end of 2018, TRX has a very long range of plan, worthy for a long term investment.

It is more convenient to trade Alts to Alts than Alts to BTC for it has a very minimal transaction fees unlike trading from alts to btc, the transaction fee is high and that make sense a lot because a .001 BTC transaction is quite high for some ALT values. Even for a red mark there is still a good opportunity to trade.

If you believe in the projects you have invested in and still have more money left, keep buying more of them.  Especially, the one that is down 70% but then again, look into why it's down that much in such a short time.  You don't want to end up catching a falling knife.

I have not so much experience in trading and that too of altcoins but there are people who are very much happy on investing their money in altcoins and doing trading by those altcoins. Altcoin trading is helping so many traders in making of enough amount of money and that is the reason why there are so many traders who are busy in trading of altcoins. You need to ne well prepared before getting into it.

The crypto market never has not been stable. If you have thoroughly researched the altcoins you have bought, that is to say, there is no problem with the potential coins and you should hodl them, until you get the profit you want.

I've been building up pretty decent experience with altcoins through doing bounty related promotional work & also slowly getting into trading of my own in the process. It is true that a lot of altcoins fail. I find that the more active campaigns with sustainable plans and good activity show the most potential of succeeding int the market.

My experience is no different from yours, even choosing very carefully you need to be aware that these thing happen. And the worst thing is that some of them will never recover.

When I had checked my alts in portfolio everything went down. I had bought some at ath price then it went drops down suddenly. When the market was like this I just hold into my coins rather than selling and got panic all. Thus, I just wait when it will rose on earning profit.

It’s still negative for me
From buying monero gold , to investing in hawala lcwp bitcoinwhite, litecoin and have been affected a lot by the bloodbath

I have waves tho with more profit that others, but I think once BTC is stable, everything will come together to the moon

Since January to till now all those who made comment on this thread saying they are holding their alts, I am curious what position you are in now? I am now in 57.98% loss since I bought all these alts. I had 1.24864106 BTC on trade according to today's market they are now 0.58217789 LOL.

I bought NEO for $ 48 and sold for $ 115. In the other coins, I suffered losses. Don't buy altcoins in a falling market, it is always necessary to wait for a bullish trend.
