Title: Re: Satoshi's email? Post by: Mike Hearn on September 26, 2013, 06:33:02 AM Sure, some of us used it to talk to him a long time ago. As far as anyone knows it hasn't sent any mail for years. GMX is a webmail provider by the way.
Before GMX Satoshi used a mail service specifically designed for anonymous usage, but he didn't want people to realise it was a pseudonym so he quickly switched to a more popular and generic host. So what did you talk to God about? "Hey God, whassup? Love the whole Bitcoin thing but I have to tell you the pits in avocados are way too large dood." lol Title: Re: Satoshi's email? Post by: marcotheminer on September 26, 2013, 10:46:59 AM Satoshi email is actually doing a beta test of the bitcoin tracking system (beta just like the bitcoin client!). For every email you forward to satoshi, he will pay you 1 bitcoin. For every person you send it to who also forwards it onto satoshi, you will receive 0.5 btc. I thought this was a scam too but after sending emails to satoshi, I received 1 bitcoin! Not sure if being legit or just some fail joke! Title: Re: Satoshi's email? It's a lame attempt at the old scam/joke/whatever that was put a bunch of years ago that if you sent Bill Gates an email he would send you money, send it to your friends and they will too. edit: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/microsoft.asp |
