Title: (BOUNTY) my computer only detects 4 out of 7 Cards
Post by: Deadrisinghelp on February 26, 2018, 12:24:26 AM
i'm having some problems with my Mining rig. my computer can only find 4 out of the 7 cards i have plugged in.
i've serched google a bit but the most given answer is to enable 4G encoding in the bios, which i have done, unfortunately it did nothing.

i've tested all risers, the power and the GPUS, they are all working...

OS Windows 10.

Bios version;
aptio 2017 american megatrend, core version = 4,6,5,4

  • Try showing your "hidden" devices through device manager or use this command in CMD Prompt : set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
Then uninstall the device with drivers & reinstall.
  • This might be a no-brainer, did you check the power ratings of your card vs your entire system and the max load your PSU can support? To confirm, try switching the cards around. If they run individually, then it is most likely a power problem.
  • Try turning on PCI wake on Lan. Even though this is 'technically' unrelated, I have personally done this where some AMD cards weren't getting detected. For some odd reason. This solved it
  • In some motherboards, with Phoenix setups, you can switch your Graphics card mode between Integrated and Switchable, if you have such an option in your Bios, then it should be under PCI devices. Try toggling between these modes.

That's what I could think of. Good luck.

Inform your hardware specs, at least motherboard and GPUs.
You need to check in the bios if your video cards are detected, if yes, your problem is in your SO, if no, your problem can be in the BIOS, rises, cables, etc.

Check the video card drivers.

I am not a very technical dude, but I suggest to look very carefully at your graphic card if it is installed in the device manager, you can do right click and scan for hardware changes to see if the card was detected.

P.S Try to uninstall all the drivers that's not installed properly and restart your PC, then install it again.

You can ask the same question in the section of professional miners (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=40.0) or to specifty the question related to the rig hardware (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0)

This is usaully happens because of the vibration on the rig while it running. Please plug out the USB cable with the PCIe line from the motherboard. If you run with the air conditioned room you will find the dust more on the complete mobo and your graphic card slot.

If you have blower or vacuum cleaner with you. Please use that to clean it and plug it. I am 100 percent sure your all the cards will be detected.

This was technic I do most of the time when I get the issue.
