I've just received an email from some scammer which asked me to review Poloniex's new terms of use.

But the link leads to:

https://secure.poloniex.work/

instead of

https://poloniex.com

Always pay attention...

Thank you for this, I received also an email coming from bittrex with same thought to review there new policy but I think its quiet legit but still good to be careful on filling up the form or what a lot of greedy people are trying to become rich easily.

Thank you for giving us a fair warning. All of us should be very attentive specially all the emails that we are getting and do not click anything, specially if you find it very suspicious.

Hackers have been targeting us because of the huge money involved in the crypto sphere. We need to be very careful and please used common used so as not to be another victim here and lose your hard earn money.

So I will advise that you have to really think before clicking anything on the web, not just on your email.

Careful on clicking site, its good that you read the url first before making any actions. A lot of phishing site not just here in cryptocurrency or exchanges its also exist on some financial intermidiaries that are trying to collect important information from you, so be wise on this.

Thanks, that’s a little scary.  Someone was doing a similar scam with Binance where the name of the phony site had a different character for the n that was an n with a dot under it. It was some kind of foreign or alternative character that was slightly different but hard to detect. We need to be careful so we can protect or investments because there are going to be more of these.

thank you this warning.theres also email that claim that their are from the exchanges that you  need to verify your account or else they will deactivate your account when you see the email address its not from from the exchange better to check first before to click.

That's not even a very good scam attempt, since even the domain is different but unfortunately I'm sure a lot of people will probably follow that link and provide important information regarding their accounts, even with all the warnings provided by exchanges support. I'm glad I didn't receive that one, and I only got an email about Circle acquiring poloniex, but that is a true event, so all good for now.

Thanks for the warn though, let's hope we don't get anyone fooled in those phishing attempts.

Phishing of binance and myetherwallet alikes are a lot!
I hope this exchange support metamask to enter , so that we don't need to be afraid of phishings !

Nice picked gesture . In fact those scammers are trying to benefit from the similarities ( in term of characters ) between the original & the fake websites.
So it's always advised to verify before filling any datum that can harm our privacy security.

Thanks for the heads up! The link of the site isnt working anymore and these kind of phishing attempts isnt really new anymore which most of them do really focusing on reputable trading sites and if someone isnt really aware on such phishing behavior will really easily fall out to this one.This is why as a trader we should always be keen on accessing sites into its original address.We can bookmark it anytime.

Guys poloniex was already sold to circle, there might be some phishing methods abusing this news, be careful! always check website names and bookmark

The basic domain verification should be an easy way to prevent being hacked from the phishing site. And the phishing scam site is a proof about how useful the 2-factor authentications. even though the user tricked about the login site, if the hacker wants to withdraw it's still required to enter the code. It's should be easy enough for the user to know their account has been compromised.

Why are websites not funding this and or have not implemented this yet? That is what I want to know, this type of scam or hack should never be possible if you have 2FA on your account as 2FA is always required at time of cashout and sometimes email verification too.

If you enter 2fa as well to fake site, then maybe they can write it to original site at the same time, but I don't know if they are very fast to withdraw with same 2fa code, maybe also e-mail verification is needed.

Thanks for the heads-up! Received an e-mail myself yesterday supposedly from Binance and written in broken English. Something about a give-away by sending 0,03BTC to a certain adress and subsequently receiving the send amount tripled in return. Totally legit ofc ... Seems like the days that the majority of spam-mails consisted of stuff about viagra, male enhancements treatments and cat training are far behind us.

Honestly with the rise of crypto exchanges, a lot of scammers are looking for a quick buck. Thank you for the warning and looking out for the community :)

Update your security layers on poloniex or  other exchanges accounts. Activate your 2FA feature, this way you can protect your  accounts and funds. This another layer of security is more secure aside from having you username and password. Also it protects you from withdrawing your funds, as it will alwasy ask to enter 6 digit from your google authenticator.
