Title: Why is DOGECOIN pronounced as DODGE-COIN and not DOG-GIE COIN? Post by: JuniAiko on February 26, 2018, 04:14:40 PM Just wondering.
I think the latter makes a lot more sense, and much cuter. Title: Re: Why is DOGECOIN pronounced as DODGE-COIN and not DOG-GIE COIN? Post by: biarox on February 28, 2018, 10:26:00 AM Hi there,
I think they're not willing to be cute. It came from a meme and I'm pretty sure they weren't expecting to succeed this much. About the pronunciation, even if it was called DOGGECOIN it wouldn't be pronounced as DOG-GECOIN. Double G doesn't change anything. The English language put letters that you don't pronounce at all, such as "thought", the G letter is totally silent. Title: Re: Why is DOGECOIN pronounced as DODGE-COIN and not DOG-GIE COIN? It's a meme, spelt doge as opposed to dog, which turns the g soft.I think the latter makes a lot more sense, and much cuter. Title: Re: Why is DOGECOIN pronounced as DODGE-COIN and not DOG-GIE COIN?
