Title: Will the Bull Market Return in 2018? What's Your Prediction?
Post by: peter.from.penn on February 27, 2018, 04:35:58 AM
Since I have been trading, every correction has been followed by new all time highs for most cryptocurrencies.  If this trend continues, many of us trading today will become wealthy.  On the other hand, given the growing trend of new government regulations, this may be the beginning of a long winter.  Where do you think we're headed in 2018?

if you rely on uptrend to make profit while trading then you are doing it wrong. a simple long term investors needs an uptrend to make profit, a trader needs market movement and it doesn't matter in which direction you just have to adjust your strategy based on the new trend of the market, that's all.

Your guess is as good as mine, no one knows what's going on in Crypto and of course, that's just how it's going to be. Like any other market, crypto is volatile (on a more mass scale then traditional markets) and unpredicatable; the market could go up one day and then go down the next, with little to no reasoning behind it.

This is one of the reasons I hate these sorts of threads, because there is nothing of any substance in them. People are either shilling or FUDing coins that they own or hate.

WHO KNOWS.

No one knows.
Any event that can occur at any time can transform the markets!
We can only observe and act when it is necessary.

I think we are seeing a mini-bull run this week, as it now rises from $9,400 to $10,700 today. I think it will stabilize between $11,000 to $11,500 by the end of this week.

As March comes, I expect that there will be more whales going to buy Bitcoin and other altcoins during this time. I believe this is the start for us to see the price increase of most cryptocurrencies.

This is what we need in reality. Only trust and faith in our own strategy. The bubble will be created all along by the media and they will never keep them shut as it is what makes there TRP grow really. So speaking about the media and FUD it's completely different matter and we as investor should ignore it.

Oh and please trust this we are listening this bubble thing since the 2010 I guess and still it is a big bubble now, that's really funny.

Where do you think we're headed in 2018?
And many of them will fall from the FUD's and false pumps created by so-called banks and media's to manipulate the people who are new and weak through trading, the cycle of this scenario will continue as long as people bite their baits towards some pumping altcoins and tokens, not just to fall from this kinds of tricks but the worst is they have been scammed, we are headed where a tons of altcoins and projects just throwing out to scam people and also the established coins will have a greater prices.

We have seen this a lot of times that when there is a huge price correction, there is a great chance that the market will hit a new all time high and vise versa. This happens because there are many people that are entering the market when the price drastically go down and that is called hype. But the thing is we can't say when it will happen again since no one can predict what will happen to cryptocurrency market in the future, and it doesn't mean that when the market crashes it will immediately recover in short period of time (but still possible). This might not happen but I think Bitcoin will have a new all time high this year.

This is more of a tending to happen thing rather than an assured trend as periods after corrections have been know to be typically bullish in most cases. Bitcoin going on a bullish run is on the cards as the correction period seems to have lasted a bit too long.

On the other hand, given the growing trend of new government regulations, this may be the beginning of a long winter.

This has been a constant hindrance to cryptocurrencies' growth over the past few years and governments don't seem to be backing down either as continued attempts to regulate cryptos has barely bore any fruit. Yet, it does not stop them from being stubborn and further ploys continue to play an indirect influence on the price, negatively.

History has a habit of repeating itself. However, the pattern of prices after the recurrence of history, make their own adjustments. That's why most likely this year, we will not see last year trends repetition. The only thing I do not doubt is that the price of bitcoin this year will update the historical maximum.
I think altcoins also will bull run, but not like last year.

No one can predict the feature, the history will not repeat all the same, there are opportunities with the risks.

Take care of your money, make good balance of risk and profit.

With the way the things are going right now, there is a high possibility that this year would be nothing than push and pull actions from both sides (bulls and bears). Looking at the recent news, even with the numerous positive things bitcoin had been receiving, the price isn't really pushing significantly unlike in 2017 when a small news would take the price into massive gains. This might be a passive year, sure, but then again bitcoin never fails to disappoint.

-snip=given the growing trend of new government regulations, this may be the beginning of a long winter.

I beg to differ, since having some clear regulations about the matter could certainly pull doubting people into the game, especially those who trusts the government so much. Regulations mean confidence from the not-so-confident peers and it could potentially trigger them to buy not only because of the gains but also because of the government chiming in to the crypto talks.

Day trading is not a simple work it is very difficult because many experts also failed in sometimes so don't try day trading. If you want to start trading you should analyse crypto strategy it is basic knowledge of trading. But don't do day trading this is always affected to traders if you want to make loss in your investment you should try this else just change your attitude then investment in long term.

A bull market similar to what happened in the previous year is extremely unlikely, this is probably a year of transition which means that if you want to obtain profits you will need to become more a trader than a holder, this can be good if you are able to take advantage of the opportunity or it can be bad if you have no skills in trading, and if you do not have those skills, get them since those skills can help even a holder to decide when it is the best time to buy or sell his holdings.

I don't exactly see it as a hindrance although government regulations has made the price go down a bit in the past. This doesn't stop investors from buying in crypto and there is still support even though government regulations will be made. Governments may try all they want to control crypto and impose regulations as much as they want but people will still continue to use their cryptos and find a way around it.

Despite how long the downtrend would be, At the end of the day; We would still see a bull run in 2018. The year is still young and the correction is just starting. But history has always repeated itself (in the cryptocurrency market, that is). According to predictions, We could see the market hit the uptrend line anytime soon ~ Say March – April.

The bull market from March to July last year was insane.  Given the size of the current crypto market cap, I don't think it's possible to repeat.  However, I feel positive that we're going to have an incredible year once things turn around.

You make a good point about regulations.  In order for large institutional investors to enter the crypto market, government regulations are needed to pave the way.  So regulations may suppress the market short-term, but provide the means for long-term growth.  Thanks for your thoughts.

Droping of market is just a part of getting more profit so dont worry, just relax. Take this drop as a chance to buy more, then hold it.
And wait because our profit is on its way to us.

Peter.from.penn is here less then a year, and past year was better year
than all previous years. Short look on past will give you another perspective,
Bitcoin had good, bad and some calm years in the past.
Patrickj have a point, great minds think alike! Holding is one of the best
options we have, prices will recover at some point and start new rise to all
times high. Alt-coins, some of them, will skyrocket and now it is a great time
to invest, we are at some kind of bottom right now! Nobody can guarantee that
we will have chance to buy again at this prices. The best we can do is to jump in
on this ride while tickets are not so expensive.

We are about to go into bull run this coming march. however, i dont expect that bitcoin will do another insane rally that happened last year 2017. if bitcoin reaches new ATH (All Time High) its already good to me. im expecting that bitcoin will close at around 25,000 USD by the end of this year.

I just hope the bull market return this 2018. The bear market, on the other hand is needed to correct price and of course, to give way for new investors and traders to buy. If there is no market movement, there will be no traders and investors. So 2018, let's hope the bull will come back strong.

Well as of now we have no idea if there's another bull run on March because there's still alot of fuds around the social media.
But base on the potential of price  nowadays perhaps there's a mini bull run and in my prediction there's a chance that the price will exceed  again to 11k value or 11500k value. And maybe after that it will dump again because of some whales that keep buying nowadays to shake out some weak hands again.

Yes we could surely expect the  bullish trend to return as we could see SEC admitting in favor of allowing cryptos and even most of the world governments relizi ng that they could regulate the crypto market and get income instead of completely banning cryptos.

SEC impact is already price in I believed. But to be bullish this year, something big should happened to the ecosystem. And that could be the implementation of Lightning Network.

We all know that we have high hopes for LN soon, and once it is being rolled out, the argument that bitcoin is nowhere the micropayment that Satoshi envisioned will be throw out of the window.

This event will really push the price of bitcoin and we can expect the bulls waking up and trying to fight back to bears and overcome it once again.

There are already a sign of steady gains in the cryptocurrency markets after a period of dips or correction and this price accumulation encounters only some minor corrections. Some crypto analysts speculated that the market started to show bullish sentiment once again and they are optimistic that the bull market sentiment will continue. Most of the predictions are based on speculation and no one can exactly know if this bullish sentiment is prelude to the anticipated bullrun in the second half of this year.

I have same sort of opinion in this regard. Most probably, bitcoin and most of the altcoins will be showing no real progress in coming months. The real show begins after the first half of the year rather in the final quarter of the year. Bitcoin will be touching 30k dollars in the least according to the predictions of experts. However, I have a little bit more faith in its growth rate. Most probably, the end year value of bitcoin would be somewhere around 50k dollars.

Long-term trends should be up but not clear in the short term
If you are optimistic about the upward trend, then buy it now is not a wrong choice, people always want to get more low-cost
Frequent transactions did not achieve their wealth goals, but to the trading platform sent a lot of transaction costs

Ethereum has that much capacity to grow. It can touch 2k dollars by the end of this year and is not very volatile rather it makes slow progress with time. But it should not be the coin to talk about. Bitcoin is what really matters here because only this coin can give huge amount of profits within this year and it is the most difficult one to predict. It would be going to reach 30k dollars in this year. Regulations and stability are unwanted features for now.

The way that I see it, Bitcoin has to explode to twice it's all time high at some point.  If cryptocurrencies expand in adoption, Bitcoin's market cap is bound to grow.  This technology is here to stay.

BTC will definitely explode, that is a sure thing and the only question right now is when. Would that happen this year, 2018? Or we need to wait more? Maybe 2020?

As you may know, we still don't know what will happen with BTC's price in the coming months but there's a high chance that we'll have another bull run this year. We consolidated long enough to fuel the bulls moving forward. Almost all of the technical analysis that I'm seeing around the web points to only one direction, and that is a new ATH before this year ends. FUD will always be there as some other people want to bring down the price to buy more BTC. It is part of the market and we shouldn't be scared because of it.

We had a double bull rally in 2013, so it isn't unrealistic to think that we can't have a second rally this year. Plus Bitcoin has never been so much popular and widespread which should even help in making a second rally a possibility.

It could return but if its to return the most possible moment would be during christmas as Bitcoin always goes up this time of the year.

The correction that takes long time are required before shows the bull sign and to hit new ath . We are now in the 4th month of market correction. Expect to have market recovery to $20k soon are our dream, but if we be more patient to wait for longer time, the price might explode more than two times from the last ath , who knows?

The way that I see it, Bitcoin has to explode to twice it's all time high at some point.  If cryptocurrencies expand in adoption, Bitcoin's market cap is bound to grow.  This technology is here to stay.
The problem always on how people afraid whenever the market in bearish, they think it won't recover , it will only get deeper dropped . People feel so optimistic only when they see the recent charts always green which it's shows how noob you are. Watch and learn, 2018 wouldn't be as great as 2017 , that's what I can see so far.

Governments can really hinder the adoption of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies if they want, but right now we are not seeing an unified answer, some countries have decided to ban bitcoin some other countries have decided they want to legalize it but make no mistake if governments think bitcoin is affecting them they will ban it and it is likely the price will go down as a result making us losing money in the process.

Based on my own interpretation of technical and fundamental analysis, what I forecasted is the 20k USD mark will be re-tested at the 4th quarter. The strong indicators of these are the strong volume of trade last February. Storm of bad news in BTC are already abated and many worthy news are coming out in favour of BTC. 2018 will be another good year for investor and trader of BTC and altcoins, even eclipsing the last correction of price.

winter?!!!
and who cares about some government regulation FUD in the media!

I'm agree , they just make it up so that they can buy it in deeper!
nasty politics!
they know they can't control blockchain as they couldn't control information globalization!

Could not control the price but they can still manipulate the price by doing massive selling.
Many people care about fud so thats why the price was going down before. So i hope this Fud not continue.

It is difficult to predict the price of bitcoin for 2018, but the fact that it will be higher than it is now very real. Many people use bitcoin and cryptocurrency as an asset to make a profit.
But there should still be large investments from major players and investment funds. At the moment, the cryptocurrency market is associated with high risks. That stops a lot of people.
It will be interesting to see what will happen when the market gets regulated

I don't think that government regulation that media is FUDing about so much these days is to be paid much attention because it has got not much relevance.
And for the price thing, yes we do hope that Bitcoin now again touches its peak by the end of this year 2k18. 20k is the most common prediction made by the community these days and maybe it turns out to be true. The market is very volatile.. you never know what will be the next market move.

we should not expect very smoothly and without a painful transition of the crypto currency into a legal state. I am sure that the whole government, as well as the banking system, will take everything to make big money and get as much tax and other payments from participants and users of the crypto currency.

Yes it is difficult to predict the price of bitcoin, but i think that we were already expecting that bitcoin price will continue increasing its price even in 2018. Although the bitcoin price remain as stable for some time but now it has start increasing and hope that very soon its price will reach to his previous high price and will even continue for a long long time.

My personal opinion is not to look at things from a day by day or week by week basis and instead consider cryptocurrencies on a grand scale. If we look over the years then the market is still bullish and for that reason I'll continue to invest.

I think Bitcoin bullish trend has begun after the long bearish winters. Everything at this point of time seems to be positive and therefore Bitcoin is rising on steady growth rate. But all this bullish wave depend upon the upcoming Gov. stand on cryptocurrencies. If everything remains to be positive, soon BTC will trade on its all-time high price. We can surely say that 2018 is the most important year for crypto-future.

No.We shouldn't see government regulations as a negative factor.Instead we should welcome it and it would help more people come towards crypto currencies. For instance,SEC of US has ruled in favour of allowing crypto currencies and we could see its positive effect over crypto coins. Now there seems to be a beginning of bullish trend as bitcoin price has crossed 11,000 dollars. Now with higher transaction fee issue getting almost solved due to segwit,we could now expect even big players like Amazon accepting bitcoin payments which would increase its demand more and hence its price.

Regulation is a positive sign but not because of what you think, the fact that governments are choosing regulation over forbidding cryptocurrencies means they understand very clearly they have no chance to forbid cryptocurrencies and make people forfeit their coins, they understand that, they know it, they are doing the best they can to regulate cryptocurrencies so they get money out of it.
