Title: Started GPU Mining, getting Artefacts
Post by: Rockbob on September 27, 2013, 01:50:58 PM
Hello everyone, I'm new to the whole mining thing, although I've operated with BTC for quite some time.

I just set up my Miner for a Pool and started, and now I'm getting artefacts all over my Desktop.

I'm operating on a non-OC'ed Radeon 7950 DCT2 with 3 GB ram, at 95% GPU Usage and 69°C.

I'm hoping, that someone can explain to me, why i am getting all of this artefacts, because I just can't explain myself this problem at this "low" temperature.

Tried to do a screenshot, but as always, it seems to be a displaybug. :\

Greetings,

Rockbob

What comes to mind is that the voltage is too low for the core (or RAM), or you mined with a card where the voltage regulators (VRM) are not being cooled. Use GPU-z to check those out while mining. Then, reduce the core and vRAM clock speed

Are you sure it's plugged in properly and not under too much stress?
