If I invest $10,000 in ETH and hodl for 1 year...will I be rich? Just curious  ;)

Good day! Investing on ETH is a good investment. Holding also a good idea. But I would also suggest you invest on a great and potential ICO which will give you profit. I as I speak for myself I don't let my money sleep that long. I'd rather diversify. Still its yours to decide what to do with your money.

I doubt buying an hodling $10,000 worth of Ethereum will make you rich. You might double or triple your money but I would buy other altcoins for higher returns.

There are more coins which might give higher returns but these are the ones where I feel safe investing my money.

We are in a bear market right now, unless you day trade, I highly recommend not investing in anything until the market bottoms out.

It depends what do you mean by "make me rich") Just keep in mind that for example, to make x2, krypto market capitalisation should be about $1 trillion, and to make x20, market cap should be about $10 trillions, more than gold capitalisation for example.

It may not make you very rich but most likely will increase your money many times.
For higher returns, need to invest  in high potential ICOs and lower market cap coins.

Honestly, Ethereum may be a safe investment and double/triple your money for sure. I'd recommend NEO because there will be higher returns and you'll get a little bit of money from the gas you'll collect.

According to Justin Sun, Ethereum isn't scalable and Tron will solve that problem. TRX/OCN will bring much greater returns if you plan on holding for a year or two.

Just my opinion though. Do research and don't invest off of emotions.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Invest in other currencies as well.
In my opinion, you should buy those coins that have less volume. You don't need to get too technical and study the whole whitepaper. Study their price chart and the special features of that coin.

depends on what you consider rich. ETH is safe investment in my opinion but where it gets in one year depends on lot of things like regulation, banning and overall development.

It is going to be good investment as ethereum will do probably like 2x or even 3x more. But I think those times that you become rich by investing 10k dollars in ethereum are GONE. Ethereum already has huge cap.

Ethereum is the hottest crypto in the global market. Honestly,  speaking of richness I guess it totally depends because the value of ETH might oscillate from time to time and is very unpredictable.  A lot of factors has to be considered with this issue before making a firm conclusion,  but despite its volatility it surely is profitable and can satisfactorily ncrease one's income.

It depends on how it's price will move but it is very likely that you will not be reach after holding that for 1 year, I think crazy price movements will not be seen for a while. Still it is a good investment but If that was your whole stash then I recommend you not to put it all in ETH. That way, there are more chances for profit, and you won't regret your decision if ever ETH goes sideways for one whole year.

Relatively speaking, yes. It would almost double, maybe triple your money, but in crypto universe you can get a much higher return from your investment. So, check out the other altcoins suggested here, do your research, make up your own mind. Don't limit yourself, this world has no limits, no boundries.

Yes, if you have the guts to risk that huge amount of money. If you invest you must accept anything that will happen. 10,000 is a lot of money and if youre too lucky on eth that you pick to invest it might  x100 your investment.

I’m not quite sure what does “rich” mean for you ::) definitely, you won’t become a millionaire in 1 year. But still ETH is one of the best altcoins for long-term investments, so you can make much of investment in it.

There's a near 0 percent chance that ETH is going to go 100x in value in the next year. I'd be surprised if it goes 5-10x.

Depending on what the definition of rich is is your answer. I would expect you'd get a return between 20-50k.

You will not be tremendous reach (Ethereum market cap is already considerable) but you will have a good ROI

It will probably not make 10x, even if it makes 10x, that $100k does not make you rich. Find a coin that has just started like oax. If you invested $10k in ether when it was $10, you would be rich. If you invest $10k in oax when it has just started, you may be very rich, but I don't say this can make you rich, do your own research  :)

If you invest 10 000 dollars in Ethereum and you will wait one year your amount should increase twice. But i think you will get more so it is good investment

All the same, I recommend that you buy 3-4 coins in addition to the air. So the portfolio will be more reliable.

i think if you want to have profit from holding for long term then just investing in ETH is a good idea but it may not have as much as profit than investing in many altcoins, of course i believe ETH price will encrease in the future but it may not be as much as many altcoins combined and more risky when you just invest in one specific ETH.

Mostly fail to make a good decision even though they have a good amount of money, the major thing we have to learn is to find out the best other possible coins which can give good returns in long term. ETH is always a good investment but considers NEO is another investment where the price is still low in the market.

No one can guarantee it will profit or loss if it dared to take the risk to invest today so it could just be for next year the price will go up high but also could have been going down.

You need to be more specific what do you mean by rich? Do you mean 100k or 1 million dollars? Because if you mean an amount of money between those values then the answer is no, ETH is not going to grow that much that fast if you want profits like that then you need to become a trader or you need to invest in an ico and hope for the coin to skyrocket.

Trading cryptocurrencies or investing in it  entails alot of risk and you should not put in money that it will be difficult for you to be able to survive without.  $10,000 putting into ethereum can make you very rich if the same movement we have in 2017. Ethereum was the most performed coins in 2018 and we need to know that 2018 may be far better than 2017 and this time last year nobody knows that ethereum is going to performed the way it did.  We pray that everything works out well In 2018 the way we have seeing volatile in 2017.

For me If I have that $10000 I will not spend only ETH because NEO, ICX, OMG and many more altcoins that are undervalued or altcoins that has below $100m marketcap with low total supply. You do that by searching deeply about the market of crypto and all altcoins out there. Goodluck.

if i have $ 10000. i will invest - $ 5000 Eth - $ 2000 for Neo- $ 2000 for litecoin and $ 1000 for a good ico. i will hold a bit longer for Eth because i am sure eth will have great value in the future.

investing money in one asset you are very at risk of losing. Of course, the etherium is a good tool and definitely it will grow. But if you want to invest for a period of 6 months, I would invest 50% in bitcoin (buy on correction), 25% in the etherium, 25% in low-capitalized coins (QSP, ICX ...)

You can not be rich with $ 10 thousand of ethereum investment. You have to be 100 thousand dollars for the price of ethereum for being rich. This is totally impossible, instead, turn to investments that will make a bigger development :)

If one invests in ethereum then at least one is very unlikely to lose funds. Investing in an ico has high probability of losing a lot of money (if not everything, if the project is a scammy one). However, I would advice op to do the same with bitcoin, which is incredibly down for now and can truly bring nice and safe profit within a year. Ethereum is going to become unmineable and who knows how people will react on it, the price might fall. Not to mention that one day you can wake up with your money frozen forever due to some bug (parity story).

hodling doesnt mean you will earn more money compare before, instead if you are an active person and has alot of time using your computer, better to be active trader of ETH, surely you will gain more with lowest risk of them all.

One thing's for sure. It's gonna be a hell of a ride. The volatility of ETH is much more pronounced than bitcoin's. One day, you'll be elated that you made double or triple your investments and then the next minute, cry that you didn't sell soon.

I have faith in ETH. But 10k dollars is too much. I think the 2000-3000 levels are reasonable.

I don't know. The value of ETH is already very high. But maybe it can increase more. You have a little chance to get the double of your investment?

Definitely yes. There are so many plans for Ethereum for this year. The developer is making a great distribution in this coin. He believe in it so why not try it. Even me, I believe that Eth will pump higher by next year.

I won't act like I've got a crypto glass ball, but if Eth does 5x in value this year it'll blow away every ones expectations, this will only make you $50,000 .. I wouldn't call this rich.

$10,000  is a huge amount of money. I think if you invest it all to eth and hodl for one year you will double your money but you must remember always that cryptos are volatile and be always ready. Anyway there are more for eth in the future.Its good to diversify with other alts which have the potentials.  You have to carefully select and do your research well if you also consider investing with other alts.

Absolutely yes, Ethereum is the second best  profitable currency ( after Bitcoin), and when we see their current price  ( $ 868 ) which has declined significantly in recent times , so we conclude that this period is a good opportunity to hold and  invest an acceptable value of Ethereum. Because this drop of price is temporary and maybe within few weeks , this currency will return to progress.

On the other hand,  everything is possible in the era of cryptocurrencies and there are always surprises in that field. Moreover, I expect that after 1 year, the price of Ethereum will develop in a fast way. So maybe it will become  more than $ 3000.
I advise you to invest $ 10,000 in Eth and trust me, your profil will be so huge after 1-2 years.

!0,000 dollars is peanuts. 10k is not a huge amount of money lol.  1 million isn't even considered wealthy anymore. I could see ethereum going to 5k at the end of this year.  I believe eth marketcap will be higher than bitcoin.

There are other alts that can give greater profits but at the same time people have different strategies for some 10000 dollars is a significant amount of money and they cannot afford to risk them in some of the most risky altcoins out there so they prefer to buy some of the safest coins even if that does mean they do not get as many profits, the problem of the op is that he wants to invest in safe altcoins and still obtain huge profits.

that amount is good for investing but still ethereum price not in the level but this good time to invest you can reach at that level and can make money good but you have to keep patient  and have to do wait until price of ethereum will not grow up and you can invest just 50% also in that case also you can make profit.
