Title: Should I pay more to get the bigger memory card (1060 3GB vs 6GB version)? Post by: SelectProduce on February 28, 2018, 05:58:36 PM I am building my next rig, based on 1060 cards. I am having trouble in deciding if I should spend some more on the 6GB version.
It is my understanding that 3GB is mostly problematic when mining Ethereum which I don't, I prefer to mine Equihash coins . So is there a reason to pay extra for the 6GB card? Its not just a memory difference. The core count is a bit less on the 3Gb card (1152 vs 6gb 1280). So they will always hash slightly less. If you dont care about Eth, then get the 3GB card. Bit more hash rate, better resell value. But like you, I opt for 3gb one because it was 60 bucks (x8 = $480) cheaper and I only use them for equihash :) Title: Re: Should I pay more to get the bigger memory card (1060 3GB vs 6GB version)?
