Title: I'm mining for 4 days.
Post by: oblinez on February 28, 2018, 07:45:31 PM
hello fellow miners, How's the pick today?, everything good?

I'm mining for 4 days, I use windows 10 with 1 video card zotac 1080 AMP! Extreme and Bminer to mine, EWBF got 500 ~ 530Sol/s and with Bminer I got 590 ~ 605Sol/s for this reason I'm using Bminer as a Miner.

Ok, the question is: starting now, with no budget to buy another board, mining with this board, I would have a new board value only after one year and two months (if it did not burn before)
in short, it does not pay to spend the life of the video card + energy and pray to have a profit to buy an additional video card (my opinion)

Anyone have any tips for beginners?

here a video card like zotac 1080ti costs (BRL)R$4000 ~ 5000 (US $1238.39 ~ 1547.99)

my mining estimate per month is (US)$70 (BRL R$ 226.10)

I'm sad =(

Excuse my poor english =)

One of the things you can do without buying more components, is finding promising coin and mine it. If you do that and hold that coin, after some time you can sell it and earn money from price difference.
Also, you could find some coin with low difficulty and acceptable price, that after mining you could sell and start cryptocurrency trading. You can make some really nice money from it, and invest it in your mining rig.

I highly recommend you do the math and mine the most profitable coin, then just buy "promising" coins with it. Mining "promising" coins directly could be less profitable.

Also, reading up more on these forums will help a lot. You will find that if you take care of your mining rig, it should last well above the time needed to ROI. However, also note that $70 per month profitability is based on todays rate. Tomorrow it could be $7 or $700 per month. Consider these when calculating mining revenue.

Ouch, you bought your 1080ti at the worst timing. It will take years to reach ROI with that price.

Perhaps, since you only got 1 GPU for mining, why don't you start with Nicehash (that's the best place to start for newbies) to earn Bitcoins which can be used to buy another coin or cashout to buy your second GPU (secondhand).

However, $1,200 for a ($700) GPU is a bad deal.

difficulty to give suggestions for you, if your mining using one GPU and your series GPU very expensive for this time.but you don't need sad, on the Cryptocurrency always have a surprise such fork or the price some coin is rise. I have any little tips corresponding with my experience when first time mining.
1. as much as possible care for your component especially VGA. the stable more important than speed(hashrate).
2. often to web calculator mining such a Coinwarz, you can look block reward, frequency block and you compare one coin with another coin but if you feel that's waste a time, you can using Nicehash.
3. correct in choosing an Algorithm, where your VGA series works great on that algo.
4. most important is Patience.

Check out Coinwarz (https://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency), its good place for getting information about coins. You can find out which coin is most profitable at the moment, and many other useful things. They have hash rate calculator also, which comes in handy too.

Yes I forgot about Nicehash. I have used it before, and I can say that I was satisfied with its performance. With their miner you can mine different algorithms, and get payment in bitcoin. So check it out too.

Hello nc50lc, I use a 1080, not ti, that was just an example of price, because the coin I'm mining (zcash) is very good with Cuda
by my tests, the nicehash was the one that would pay me less per day, week and month!
I'm mining the zcash with the console using nanopool for mine, but today 03/08/2018 I'm trying miningpoolhub and I'm liking the result. It seems like I'm mining faster than nanopool

yes, Eternu, I am mining zcash, many and many say that it is a great coin to mine because it will value a lot, and nvidia is good for mining zcash algorithm

I do not understand very well about block reward, I know what kind of a prize the person earns, and the value is 10 zcash, but it must be hard for me that I'm mining as slowly as other people who have mining plots

one thing I'm seeing, when I started mining zcash it was $ 430 and bitcoin was $ 11200 and now zcash is $ 320 and bitcoin is $ 9600, is this normal? to descend so much? Is it still advantageous to continue mining? I'm afraid that the coin I'm mining (zcash) will die

sorry my bad english =)

its a horrible time to be a miner, you have master nodes stealing your rewards, pools stealing our rewards then screaming chain split as they take in coins, exchanges holding funds, the new crypto tax law....

the days of a 1080ti making $10 are gone, and will take 4 years to get back, its only going to get worse, I see bitcoin at $5000 this year

This is a very good phrase. If you are a miner then you need to understand everything is against you earning anything, think about that.

It is ok to change pools and trying to find the right one. So as long as your happy with you pool choice, everything's ok.

Fluctuation of cryptocurrency prices is normal thing, you will get used to it in time. This are hard times for miners, but if you are already in it I guess you should continue and try to make profit out of it.
If you are convinced that zcash is going to die, than consider possibility of selling your savings and move to different coin. But don't let your emotions cloud your judgement, think carefully before any decision.

You already have a decent, powerful GPU, I would strongly advise you against purchasing another one, at least for now. Mining profit margins have been greatly reduced the past few months, any investment now is considered risky and may not even payout. I would advise you to find a promising coin which has some kind of potential and mine that one.
