Most important is going to be what the project is trying to do. Does it actually have something tangible to achieve or is it just putting out their project for the ICO revenue that they would gain along the way?

You have to think about that.

Also, if there is a good project, that doesn't have any marketing, then you're going to be not making much either because there is no attention drawn to that coin. You always need a good marketing team that is dedicated to the project, which you haven't included it seems.

best thing to do is to look at the charts of an altcoin.
market cap, paper, blockchain, ... are all useless when it comes to altcoins which can get pumped just because some pump group or some whales decided they wanted to make money from that altcoin. and looking at these things won't tell you when the pump is going to come. although you can know that a coin with huge market cap can not be pumped big time anymore but a small market cap coin can get pumped 10000 times and give that much profit to you.

I am not study i am sometimes buying under ico price.

You are forgetting about the transparency of the development progress, because that gives regular information about the development process of the project itself. As you can see many projects are not making any regular update to the investors and i called that about less on the transparency and that makes a lot of investors doubt about the future of project itself.

24 hour volume is really not important at all. There may be some coins never seeing good volume cause of bad exchanges, but tech behind is awesome. It might be vice versa as well. I don't suggest anyone to use 24h volume at all.

You summarized it right, there is not much to include. I think most important thing to do is reading whitepapers and understanding the idea behind the project. Second is technology they are using and the business area they are promising to participate. Lastly, their community support shouldn't be overlooked.

Before investing your altcoin you should learn what investment instruments you will invest in accordance with the funds of the instrument, Calculate the potential benefits, duration, and risk levels. There are also easy investment instruments and some are more difficult that require more in-depth technical analysis.

I think you may add the people behind the project development, the devs and theier updates. They should be active in informing their clients investor and supporters in twitter, telegram and website or any social means to reach them.

These are my criteria:

- Premined or not?

Premined coins are too suspicious. The devs take an initial big slice for themselves always justifying that with some philosophical rhetoric but there are many past examples of total scam coins using this scheme. 

- ICO or no ICO?

I don't like ICOs, I prefer to invest in an already ongoing project with given proof of stability and endurance. I'm not saying all ICOs are scams, but same of them are for sure!

- How old is the coin?

In my book, if a coin is still being actively traded after 3/4 years of existence, this has to mean something; there is a faithful community behind it.

- Is it still being actively developed?

Following the previous point, if after 3/4 years the coin still has a dev team committed to it with real plans for the future, then it has a real project!

- Does it have any real use besides pure pump and dump speculation?

Is the coin being used for any kind of purchases? If not, are there any plans for it? Otherwise, it will only be a play toy for trading.

- Does it have an active and large community?

How large is the community? Is it still active or everybody left a long time ago?

- Is it PoW of PoS?

Proof of Work is a dead end, the power consumption is obscene. Not viable for the average domestic crypto enthusiast. Proof of Stake can be done with a Rasberry Pi ;D

- Fully functioning wallet?

Some coins have terrible wallets, unstable, not user friendly. This is a key factor, the software has to be in line with the state of the art crypto developments.

- What is the current marketcap?

A coin already above 100mil might not be the best bet if you can find a good one below 100 mil with a good growth perspective.

- What is the current/total coin supply?

Scarcity might prove to be an added value in the long run if you are planning to hold a coin and leave it for your kids!

I would perhaps suggest that you should not do any investment when you lack the knowledge about cryptocurrencies and it's like jumping on an airplane without a parachute where you will be surely losing yourself in the end. Learning to understand about cryptocurrencies is very important if you are an investor in particular like you should know what is happening in the cryptomarket where you should study and analyze the choice of coins which you think is a promising one. Go to coinmarketcap where all the corresponding alts are shown with it's respective price value and price charts that may help you study the market trend. Lastly, consider the whitepaper on each coin and it's blockchain technology to be part of your research in choosing the best probable alts for investment.

Your outlines are good and helpful. Another important point to look into is the roadmap. The roadmap is as important as the whitepaper of that coin. Before investing into the altcoin, you will need to see if the developing team has been following the laid down programmes as planned and this needs to be checked for consistency. I always believe that a good project will be known to follower her words as pronounced. Even if there will be any different, it should not be that obvious, but for a total bridge of contract by the project is what i will never go for.

Very important whitepapers and time, time shows whether the project can calmly experience the waves in the market and keep afloat.

Good criteria. You have missed the developers of that coin. You have to consider also the developer team because they are the one who is responsible in every way. Look if they are true to what they have presented in their profile.

Exactly you have point, it is also important to thoroughly search on the developers if they have the capability to improve the project. Second, I always look on the volume of altcoins before investment for us to know if the altcoins is good and also supply.

Before deciding to invest in any altcoin, I carefully study the following parameters:

1. the number of users
2. 24-hour and 1-month trade volume, and the growth in the trade volume
3. Number of exchanges where the altcoin is being traded
4. Free float to cold storage ratio.
5. Annual fresh supply of coins.

I know many people who just buy what is growing and sell what falls. It's all their secret. Sometimes information can negatively affect understanding.

You write that very correctly.But sometimes these are not enough. You should always follow Altcoin news. Every step in coin develop very important.

When I invest in new projects.I draw attention to the very idea of the company and whether it is necessary for society.Already at this stage, half of the projects simply not necessary for society

Excellent recommendations. I think that in order to choose a good project for investment, you must be able to study the project very carefully. Hasty decisions lead to losses. Don't hurry.

The most important thing before investing in ICOs is knowing the product. does the ICO offer good product which well design? Does it have a good  plan to reach the goal? And how the developer advertise the products? And the legalism of the product?

And knowing the amount of the tokens will be distributed is a part which also important. Than seeing the development of the projects during the ICOs. Is it well developed or no?

Actually it doesn't take a long time to study certain coins.

There are so many ways to study and research how good is the ico whether it is legitimate or fake or scam or fraud or bogus.
Legitimate ICOs most of all have a very strong social community like telegram channel group and I do believe God ICOs have more active members and admins than the fake one.

Read whitepaper and check the team that is behind. If there is a real company and production- even better

Yes, you missed tokens as they have some real life usage otherwise altcoins are a gamble you can try.
They don't have real-life usage. could be dumped and pumped. they could be closed without notice.
All in all, they are not the future of crypto-currency anymore but token could be.

It seems to me that the best way to learn altcoyins is to participate in bounty campaigns!)

I think you mentioned all the important things that affect the path of the currency, and I think it is also important to follow the Telegram group to check where the project arrived and whether there are updates expected or not

I think that the list is quite full. However I would suggest to also look into roadmap.Roadmap could even be more important than whitepaper. If team is following the plan how it's written in roadmap than community supports the project by buying its altcoins. Even if there will be any difference, it should not be that obvious and it won't affect project a lot.

Check the github of the coin if the developers are actively developing the coin that is a good sign,whitepaper will tell you how these people are going to achieve success,roadmap will tell you which or when will this coin are going to be more massive,talking about the current development if the developers are following their roadmap thats very well.

I think first you must look to team and community, if these are okey, then you can search about roadmap, high and low prices, what is the price before some weeks ago, if it rised much so you can wait for buy, I look to these details.
