Title: Cost-effective marketing strategy for an ICO? Totally flopped
Post by: cryptokangaroo on March 01, 2018, 06:36:53 AM
Guys. Golden comedy, ive made an ICO -and managed to attract fewer than 40 subscribers. its second day on for the ongoing sale and the contribution level is zero haha.
we obviously suck at marketing then.
How would you carry a marketing campaign to collect roughly 1,000ETH?
Budget for marketing? Top viral tools? Tips and tricks?
Im despondent and will cry you guys a river tonight.

First of all you should share your "perspective" tokens with bountyhunters which would do some kind of promotion your project on social midea

First thing you need to have done is understand how the market works. Successful ICOs didn't happen by default and its a serious work. 1000ETH as at today is close to a million dollars and you think its just going to come falling in your wallet? Even those that have carried on aggressive campaigns both on the forum and outside of it, had to reduce their soft cap when they realize that target is not being met. My question is

1. What is your project about, when a product/project is not marketable, you tend to spend huge amount of time, energy and funds to get little people interested which makes it seems the marketing is not working.

2. What is your team composition? Because to be sincere, you dont sound like someone who have a team as everything about your statement is on a singular person statement. You need to have a worthy team that believes in the dream (if any) before commencing anything. The ICO market is more fragile everyday that you need to go beyond the average to run a successful one which does not strike me like you are doing.

1000 is a lofty goal? maybe
Wasnt that lofty at ETH ICO. price 0.30 per 1000= 300usd
BASICALLY ICOs try their best to raise 3 hundred "dead american presidents" ($)!
soon ICOs would strive to collect 1ooETH :) something any hobo could get simply by dropping 30 bucks into Ethereum ICO..

The sad reality is that doing an ICO requires a lot of planning and marketing dollars in order to ensure that your brand and message gets out into the market.  Unless you have a strong developer team that has developed the protocol/solution to a MVP level, it is really hard to build a community.

I suppose that a marketing campaign never gonna be successfull if your business project isn't promissing enough. What's your killing feature?

What is your ICO? I think it all depends on your project, website look and marketability of your product (if there's a product involve).

1. Project - ICO these days are just a copy-paste of one another, people are so tired of these kind of project. Its better offer something that has not been offered before, something different.
2. Website Look - This is the very important part. Your website/landing page must be enticing, neat, and free of errors to give confidence to possible investor.
3. Marketability - Same with no. 1 just make sure your marketing team knows where to target specific consumer for your ICO, targeting all of possible consumer won't help. Concentration is the key.

Its true...Running a ICO is not a child play. You need to do some serious efforts to make a ICO successful. I don't understand OP that why you asking for a solution without sharing your project details. Are you planning to fraud people just by creating a dummy project!!!
Marketing strategies will only work if you have a good product/idea and a reliable team who can gain investors trust.

I believe you had prepared as well with the working team excellent, and softcap 1000 ETH seems not to big if your project concept has the "killing punch" to the market. I believe also you had have a marketing team, but sometime the planning is not worked as expected. But it is, the marketing area is the other important thing. The great marketing can sell a bad product in the market by excellent packaging, but ideally it should be integrated between :
1. The product to be sold
2. Strong technical team to support the product
3. Excellent marketing to package the product to be very interested buyers and attract them to buy
4. Top Project management that create scenario behind the scene, controlling and manage the project
5. Sufficient resources in term of fund and qualified and personnel number
So it is not only marketing team to make our product are sold out in the market.
