i think bitcoin will continue to be a mega crypto untill litecoin replaces it when facvebook joins the bandwagon and buy and improve litecoin..what do you think  guys??

Bitcoin has so much marketing power and no other coin will replace it in the near future. Facebook does not need to use litecoin, they will implement their own coin with much more advanced features.

With the current market of bitcoin, it's impossible for other coins to replace it even in the near future. But I personally think that ethereum will reach the point where bitcoin is right now, and when that happens bitcoin is far more ahead than ant other coins even ethereum.

Looking back about crypto currency Bitcoin is the basis of all coins. Number of investors holding on what ever the status in the market place. It's possible other coins can overlap bitcoin in any strange reasons but the power of bitcoin will never fade because popularity and business tenurity really matters.

Who says Facebook will join the bandwagon and use litecoin anyway? That has always been a rumour. There are no sources to back up this claim.

But yea, bitcoin up at 40% market dominance. Will continue to stay that way as long as bitcoin is still one of the most used trading pair on exchanges.

my opinion is quite simple
hopefully all the coins whether it's bitcoin or alcoin litecoin all prices are always stable and my livelihood every day can be fulfilled.

I also think that litecoin is another coin that will be outstanding. Its growth last year is still around my memory but about taking over from bitcoin is still a very long time projection.


If we have any social media outfit like facebook, youtube , twitter etc,  building a coin in their or owing a coin in another name, it means we are going to be certain that cryptocurrency business would be the talk of the town because they are going to be creating awareness in their website.

btc is the reference coin. the heartbeat. treated like an asset in many years to come.

but will it be the most used coin? well, the useability barriers need to be broken. it must feel like the "swipe" in mobile apps to pay/receive crypto payments.
whether it will be btc or eth/ltc/dash/monero... i cant tell. but ease of use and daily utility will define dominant coins.


 

Litecoin is just an altcoin and i would not be worry about it, the best is alwayse bitcoin better to keep your bitcoin safe , it could be that bitcoin in 2018 will hit new record price!

Bitcoin will dominate until there are people that are investing and it is the first Cryptocurrency that succeed on having a high value in the cryptocurrency market. So I think it will dominate but remember it is unpredictable so there is a chance that other cryptocurrency might exceed on the value of Bitcoin in the recent history.

Well it is what you actually think it is despite the fact it is declining it is still on the top of all Cryptocurrency in the whole wide world although it is not on good shape just for now i think maybe not or maybe can't say im certain for that matter but i think it will grow again for some time.

Facebook will never use Litecoin, they have the manpower and resources to create their own coin, and a facebook cryptocurrency would most likely beat Litecoin in no time (at least in terms of popularity), so there's no need for them to 'buy and improve' a well established altcoin in the market.

About the btc dominance, a month ago it was about 33%, right now we're at 40%, there's no doubt that the dominance will keep going up until the normal levels (55% or more), we just have to wait until the altcoin capital goes back into the btc ecosystem in the upcoming months.

I think btc dominance will continue to rise in the short term. Once it reaches close to it's all time heighs I think money will flow back to Alta and btc dominance will reduce. Long long term term I don't this btc will always have the largest market share

BTC is the reference for all the crypto coins around, might not be the best or the fastest coin but as first, other coins are based on the BTC idea, project and concept.

I think Ethereum will overtake the first place. I don't see Litecoin there. Bitcoin will stay on top for a few years more.

I do not think any of the current coins has what it takes to replace bitcoins. Some coins have unique features like complete anonymity but it is still not sufficient. I know that a lot of current bitcoin investors are moving to alt coins for faster profit. Yep, I also think that no other coins can replace bitcoin in the future. As far as we know that bitcoin is the father of the coin, especially although it’s the oldest coin, it’s still getting more and more popular.Bitcoin seem to be more developed nowadays, to speak frankly bitcoin will exist till the technology die. If some day there has other coin dominance instead of bitcoin, I’m sure that that coin can own the same  value with bitcoin .

Bitcoin is far ahead of all other cryptocurrencies. The only one near is Ethereum and the game crypto kitties showed us that they have much larger scaling problems then Bitcoin.

I think the hype around ICOs is fading. Unlike Bitcoin maximalists I don't see a need for any animosity to altcoins and ICOs. As far as I see it Ethereum helped to get crypto adoption at  a higher level. Why some feel the need for the tribalism puzzles me as it's clear there's a symbiotic relationship.

That time is not too far away I think because now people are moving to the segwit wallets and the wallets like coinbase and blockchain.info wallets are upgrading to segwit too by this year so this will make the transaction little more faster,currenctly there are 11% people using segwit and the number of unconfirmed transaction is under 10K and the fee is portion of a dollar,imagine how much will be the fee if that 11% turns into 100%.

So far, I see no reason and need for bitcoin to be replaced in its leadership by crypto currency. With the advent of a new version of bitcoin, which solves problems with its shortcomings, bitcoin should remain in its leadership for a long time.

No coin will replace it but its dominance will continue in the future because most tokens are actually trash and there is a ico bubble.

I know Facebook is interested in crypto but they are thinking about creating their own token if I'm not mistaken, so why are you saying that they will buy litecoin? Right now bitcoin dominance is increasing and I think it will continue to increase at least until it reaches 45% or 50% again. Yeah ICO has basically destroy the image of altcoins and people are now mostly interested in Bitcoins. Bitcoins dominance clearly shows this trend now. Bitcoin perform such great things from the past years until what it is now. Bitcoin dominance in the market place couldn't replaceable. Only bitcoin can do what it's full role in the crypto world. Yes it is and that will be happen forever the progress is still there and it will continue for a life time. With the current status of things, I believe bitcoin will continue to be dominant over all other coins for a very long time. Most of those that ventured into cryptocurrency did it because of bitcoin. This is the reason bitcoin has a very high market cap.
Ethereum is the second best coin and it's  not even up to a thousand dollar while the price of bitcoin is over $10000. That is very large difference and will take a lot of effort and time on the part of Ethereum to fill this gap.

I think so too. Many well known companies have been jumping to create their own coin and blockchain. So will facebook do in the near future. It will create its own coin with separate blockchain and bring into use. That project would be hugh if it ever happens.

I do not see any connection between Bitcoin and the plans of the owners of Facebook. Even if they create their own cryptocurrency, it will not affect the price of BTC. It will remain #1 coin on the market.

I think regardless of who buy Litecoin or who doesnt, Bitcoin will always be the leading cryptocurrency. Bitcoin knows it is the leader and it also knows it has its rep to protect. Im just so sure Bitcoin wont allow any other coin usurp its position at the top. Even if any other coin is going to take the position of Bitcoin as leader, it will take a very long time because even at the moment, there isn't any existing coin that comes close to BTC in terms of value and anything else.

One of the reasons is the price volatility that can make them to feel hesitate, because anyhow the each people's thoughts are differents. I don't think litecoin will replace the bitcoin if you think it will happen because litecoin has fast and cheaper transaction when compared to bitcoin then it is wrong litecoin will also get chocked if the demand will increase so bitcoin will be the dominant and the transaction issue will be completely solved when LN implemented.

Yes, I agree with you. I don't think any coins could replace bitcoin. In terms of value, bitcoin is leading all the time. Though there are times that its price goes down but, it can easily recover and now it continue rising as demands goes high too. If you're saying that because of the drop at the end of december then you're not paying attention that much. If you're going to base 2018 on 2017's performance, i'd say we're on a good path

I am not quite sure about the continued market dominance of Bitcoin. There are mainly two reasons. The first reason is that anonymous currencies such as Monero are being favored by the big players now. The second reason is that the scaling issues are yet to be resolved.

For me bitcoin is the root of cryptocurrency so no matter how many alternative cryptocurrency that is pop out right now still it will not work when bitcoin is gone or without the use of bitcoin, so I'd rather stick to bitcoin only and ignore other crypto.

It seems that the dominance of bitcoin is not on a good mood because it doesn't continue to go up and because of the FUDs that is around, it creates panic selling for the bitcoin again and we can easily see the result of that FUD but i am very positive that sooner than later we will turn into bullish market again and see the light after this dark market.

My guess is Bitcoin will be dominating the market in the short-term and the mid-term perspective. It's more popular than any other crypto now.
