Title: TRADING IN ETHERDELTA, FORKDELTA, TOKENSTORE, etc.
Post by: albertnomtag on March 02, 2018, 05:55:30 PM
Everyone should make a note of this..

Anything you do on etherdelta, forkdelta, tokenstore (or anywhere that requires wallet import) consumes your gas i.e. ETH of your wallet..you make deposits, withdrawals, ask order, bid order or even for cancellation of order also consumes your ether..So trade on tokenstore by keeping in mind of these things..otherwise creating multiple orders and canceling them will make you loose your balance without earning anything..Be Alert and Play safe..

You write obvious things. The problem is that newcomers do not want to study the features of a decentralized exchange. I have already observed many times how newcomers write complaints about such exchanges, without understanding how it works

For Forkdelta and Etherdelta I recommend using Metamask. it's probably safer than importing Private Key directly.

This. Also make sure to to make Etherdelta "forget" your account when you sign out. Be safe out there!

I used forkdelta without importing private key. I used myetherwallet address. Ether arrived in forkdelta without any problem. Be careful giving private key to any site.

In these exchanges, you have to pay for any action, so before doing things must be considered clearly.

There is no way other than entering it, many coins that do not register their market further than ED and forkdelta. where do we have to trade?
whatever happens we still need ED to trade. Just enjoy it .

I don't know if this is just mistakenly copy pasting or probably an alt of OP.! Just quoting it up for reference.

Going back on topic, this is really just an obvious stuff on where newbie traders should really be aware of on doing such thing creating multiple orders and sudden cancelations will really require such gas which cant really be reverted once order been placed or cancelled which should really be putted in our minds.

The search for a magic wand that will suddenly make you rich does not lead to anything. With you just so no one will share this information. Tradering is hard work, and it's work. I can only advise you to study coins, tokens and forks, as well as the technologies that are behind them. Even knowing all the factors, the market can move the other way from your opinion.

I chose etherdelta. Although it is often heard that etherdelta is vulnerable to phishing because it uses private keys and sometimes the response is slow but I still feel comfortable using etherdelta.

I was switching from Etherdelta to forkdelta to exchange just to do my selling in other markets too much risk of shipping costs more than twice

When I learned that for any action on these exchanges you need to pay a lot of Gas, then I decided not to trade on these exchanges.  Since here you need to calculate very well, you will receive profit or not.  I believe that good coins will necessarily go to other exchanges.  Then you can sell them and buy them.

really do it more often we do the order and cancel it will be more cost required because almost every activity there use cost, so we should avoid unnecessary thing to minimize cost required.

I also give my Privatekey to those exchanges. But sometimes I did not have to lose balance, Maybe the only problem with new comers is that they do not read about the exchange so they often lose balance and complain about it in the forum.

Actually never heard of TokenStore , and about that GAS ? Its actually an ethereum thingy , since all coins on EtherDelta / Forkdelta are ERC20 based . Then they are following the ethereum blockchain thingy , every move requires a gas for it to be able to trade . I mean , 90% of coins requires fees you know . And when trading with these exchanges , you should use MetaMask . Its the maximum security you can get in ERC20 tokens .

Yes trading on decentralised exchanges tends to spend your gas and i remember a scenario when i had the only amount of eth that i could send from this side and when i sent my tokens on ED wallet then i had no eth to make the sell order and thus i was left helpless.

Forkdelta and Etherdelta sound the same, I read once an article about it and just got curious later on and never searched it. So the question is base from what I read before and I want to get clarified/ any clarifications  on this one....

Is Forkdelta the same and does it come from Etherdelta? Is it a fork?

I know its weird but this is what I read before that forkdelta is a fork of etherdelta.

EYES HERE WANT TO ASK A QUESTION

Did you guys used changelly? its an exchange also, same as Etherdelta forkdel but cheaper fees

I used forkdelta without importing private key. I used myetherwallet address. Ether arrived in forkdelta without any problem. Be careful giving private key to any site.

I also give my Privatekey to those exchanges. But sometimes I did not have to lose balance, Maybe the only problem with new comers is that they do not read about the exchange so they often lose balance and complain about it in the forum.

I am one of it to prove that I dont read and I think its a problem by some. So yeah did not read and learned I got a mistaka and so for that I did my best to learn and be better also to prevent and stop my mistakes. SO MAIN LESSON, "LEARN TO READ"

I am very difficult to use metamask, I just use private key to access my account.
I think there is no difference and both are very safe.
nothing to worry about this.

Forget about ETD cause it's the worst crypto exchange ever :). It's the heaven of hacker and so many traders lost their token on ETD. Forkdelta is also the same exchange type of ETD but a little bit better but IMO, I think all of you guys shouldn't use Forkdelta and just wait until your token list on official exchange.

Agree. Before ED was hit by a hack, this exchange was one of the favorite exchanges of traders who liked the decentralized mode of exchange. But after the hack incident, the exchange is not recommended. Traders have lost faith in this exchange that makes this exchange abandoned. As a result, trading volume in ED is very low.

The reason why they complain about not being able to use it is because they didn't study how to use it either by watching YouTube videos of it or by asking someone who knows about it very much,  it's much easier for nobs to do mistakes on those sites,  but those exchange sites are one the best in getting undervalue gem

They have their fair share of difficulties.
With metamask you're safe to deposit your assets. Whose exchanges are best for just buying coins. Trading requires a lot of activity, and every click of the mouse costs you gas fees.
Also orders are not automatically matched, and updates are slow.

Last time I visited TokenStore it had not much volume for the tokens I wanted to sell. Thanks for reminder I'll pay a visit again because there are some interesting tokens listed.
And I can add that Deltas need more transactions than other exchanges but if the Ethereum network is not loaded they are pretty cheap.

you are right, very often this happens with us by making a reservation and we often cancel it, but this kind of thing is very harmful because in every activity in the market always use cost. so we must really pay attention to such incident and must be clever make notes to ourselves so we are not easy to make decisions in a hurry, and should be calmly thought about.

Yes that is true that all of your transactions in that exchanges will cost a lot of gas im stil using that exchanges for almost 1 year and when im using this exchanges i used first metamask for me to avoid hack of my account

Decentralized exchanges are indeed safer than centralized exchanges, but less convenient. I never recommend inserting your private key, it is much safer to use Ledger.
