i think the FEDs printing machines arent shut down.

i'm thinking this will have little to no effect. price does seem to be holding.

I think it depends on what the markets do. This news hasn't hit the world fully just yet, but it will.

Confidence in the US, and US bonds in particular, has already been waning, and this will likely shake that trust tree even more. Countries rapidly selling off bonds in the aftermath of our vacuum government could have a detrimental effect on things.

usually you buy on the rumor and sell on the news...  we are not there yet...

we need a real govt shut down, longer than what happened back in the 90s, to the point where the people working in the massive federal bureaucracy start seeking alternative employment...

Hmm, I read somewhere that bonds are still issued.

Let's hope this continues for a few weeks so they can truly hit the ceiling.

Maybe neutral for bitcoin in the short term.

Gold still seems to be tanking, but I know not for how much longer.

I don't see how this could possibly be negative towards Bitcoin. I have a feeling it won't affect us much, but I'd be more than happy with a price hike :).

Gold has been tanking for a while now, against all currencies not the USD. Today, the USD itself has gone down against most currencies.

Does your mum know you are at the PC? Have you done your homework yet?

Don't worry your mum gets it too.

That is such a childish response. Are you worried about what you mum thinks about you?

My mom loves me unconditionally.

I don't know if that is because free health care or not. Probably has nothing to do with it, but if it does: It will get better for you soon.
