Litecoin responded positively but I think it was just the market settling.

Crypto won't care, like the honey badger

no effect. i don't see why there would be a perception of effects on financial markets/speculative assets, but maybe i am missing something here?

It won't.

This.  Stock market up almost 1% today.  It's going to take a much bigger catalyst than this or the debt ceiling or something else trivial.

Search function usage will suffer serious decline:

And thread quality will drop to a value close to 0. OP, use the search function.

To answer your question, BTC will attract a lot more interest, and governments will be put under massive scrutiny by the public. It isn't currently a good idea for governments to attempt to shutdown Bitcoin.

We'll see repercussions on the country's economy, or on the street, before it affects BTC.

the debt ceiling is much more likely to affect BTC price than government shutdown. Government shutdown has more to do with employment/economy/general well-being than currency/debt. It does undermine the trust in government just a bit more, though.

It's very interesting to see that people have a strange trust in USD, they might believe that even the government went bankrupt, the USD will still hold its value

Before, I thought the USD's trust largely comes from the backing of the government, it seems not so, people regard money as a very abstracted concept
