Doubt it there are any hawaii based exchanges. You should choose one of international ones like bitfinex, bitstamp, poloniex, circle etc.
BTW Welcome, feel free to read everything here to expand ur knowledge about bitcoin :)

Through a quick google search I managed to find these websites :)
-Uphold
-Localbitcoins
-Hawaiibitcoin (looks sketchy)

Again, always do your reserach before trading, make sure you are trading at reputable website.
When doing trade in LocalBitcoins always make sure the Seller has big reputation.

do you wanna trade bitcoins or buy and hold them?
Is important to know your purpose in order to help you...

Don’t put any money into bitcoin that you can’t afford to lose!

i've seen this come up periodically. the usual answer is p2p trading like localbitcoins or paxful since US exchanges don't seem to do business in hawaii---apparently their money transmitter laws are pretty burdensome. i see references to an ATM downtown (honolulu?) but there's a big premium to use it.

the one exchange that people report success with is bitstamp. they are based in europe, so you need international wire capability, although they may still do credit cards (probably a big premium there too).

i've seen kraken suggested but also seen reports that hawaii residents get stuck in some perpetual verification limbo there.

bittrex was actually created by 2 hawaiian guys. but you can use any exchange that the mainland users have access to like binance, coinbase, etc...

I didn't hear main exchanges are restricted in Hawaii. You can use Bittrex, Poloniex, Binance, Hitbtc and more.
