First, I would like to Thank you for developing such an awesome Crypto Currency, and giving us the ability become apart of the Primecoin Network. I see some tremendous innovative opportunities and future growth of Primecoin.  I think Primecoin XPM will have a set future in its value, other than just another 'altcoin/crypto coin'.  

For us early adopters, not only do we have the opportunity to mine for something of value... but we also can expand on the discovery of Primecoin's benefits.

I think it is time to take Primecoin to the next level of the general population of computer users. After all, every computer/laptop/ipad/server has a CPU.. so that possibilities of getting started with Primecoin XPM is simple enough for any newcomer that may or may not know about Bitcoin.  In my opinion, Primecoin has set itself apart from Bitcoin and other currencies by being more economically friendly, and environmentally friendly.

For Example - I had my friend to start mining Primecoin XPM within minutes of telling him about it. He did a few Google searches, and it took him less than 5 minutes to download and start up his client without really spending any money up front... or spending days to learn about how it all works. Anyone can get started with Primecoin, so it makes it above all else, easy to mine/get started.

These are my thoughts and opinions, and I am sure some can relate to what I am saying... and some of you have your own reasons for being apart of Primecoin.

Let's stand tall, and show the public, Crypto Currencies don't have to be a reason for Black Markets...
and everyone can make a difference to advance our technology and science ventures in the near future.

With FPGA for Scrypt around the corner with batch 1, it seems like an amazing time to put all effort in developing GPU miner for XPM.
All the gpu farms will jump over to XPM, if this is done and we will not loose all the gpu hashing power from crypto netwok.

I think the most important is to inform people why PrimeCoin is better than other Crypto-coin (like Bitcoin). The facts are the most important. So:
-> it is 10x faster
-> it is unique (can''t be copy like LTC,WDC,DGC,FTC)
-> it is science usefull
-> it has a good press
-> everybody can mine it via CPU (no ASICs advantage)
-> it has a great developers team
-> no fork so far (no problem with transfer at all)

Now it is underestimated and on early stage (13 weeks from the beggining) so you can also buy some at mcxnow.com or cryptsy.com - price going up every day


i think that this short message could work on most people who know something about Bitcoin (now it is a lotttt of people) but dont know that there are other cryptocoins.

Yeah I agree. I think that the scientific use is most important. It justifies for the average user the use of so much computing power.

i think that the most importat thing now is launch Prime on the biggest exchange like mtgox, bitstampt, btcnCNY. When people could buy Prime at USD and see that Prime is faster and has other big advantage vs BTC then the shops should launch Prime too. It should be no.1 aim now for maco crew.

You cant push a coin with difficulty level @ about 10 to Gox lol.
I love this coin but it is still in infant stages, there needs to be a GPU miner or dedicated hardware system to mature it and provide strong network backing.

Everything looks great right now though, btc is out concurring China and once it has a slowdown in its growth, money will flow back in alts at the rate you better be read for :)

Keep buying cheap XPM and hold not based on charts or troll boxes, but by number of months, it a good way to learn long term investment.

 

i agree... we need GPU miner to push difficult on higher level. But nobody work at GPU miner  now :( mtrlt didnt posting for month.

I will pitch a 500XPM Bounty for a working GPU miner for Primecoin.  You can quote me saying it anywhere you like and I will keep my word no matter what XPM is priced at up delivery of working GPU Miner.
 I dont even care if it does not outperform cpu by much as long as it works and solves blocks.

Lets all pull some funds for a proper bounty and generate interest in this project. I feel it is better then blindly donating as I personally never like to pay for unfinished projects. This bounty could possibly stimulate more then one dev to attempt this and will be more of a lottery :)

Not sarcastic, curiousity. Why do we need a GPU miner for Primecoin?

FPGA are around the corner for Scrypt coins and ASICS will follow soon after, I am referring to link below:

Now GPU miners will have no where to go and will either have to dismantle or find the next coin which is still FPGA or ASICS proof (for the time being).
This in turn will help produce more World records, with much faster computation power and strengthen the network. I assume it will also bring the price of the coins up and motivate wider adaptation.


This seems to be the path all coins take to maturity : CPU -> GPU -> FPGA -> ASIC
Unless you are dealing with a clone, in which case all depends on which stage the clone is made.

You might want to start a new thread about this Primecoin GPU development bounty and post about it on the Primecoin forums, it should get more interest. 

sunny could start this kind of thread. He have interview today - maybe someone ask him about it

I've emailed some of the main tech blogs about Primecoin, maybe someone will cover it :)

My understanding is that unlike SHA-256 and scrypt, which basically do the same thing repeatedly, finding Cunningham Chains uses many different mathematical algorithms, and a ASIC would be so much like a CPU there would be no advantage. Primecoin was developed to be a CPU only coin.

I am confident GPU or Prallela boards can handle this task. At the end we can just make a mobo that will take 16 i7's on it and make it a dedicated miner :)

All attention in on BTC at the moment, if you are new to this market then just trust my words. Once btc reaches its new high and people find it too
"expensive" to buy attention will once again divert to alts, out if which XPM is one of more standing out ones.

At this point you just need to wait it out, use this time as an opportunity to buy more XPM and dollar cost average your position (look this term up).
