Title: AMT miners - I Just ordered one from them - questions.
Post by: Max1820 on October 01, 2013, 11:24:44 PM
Hey Guys,

How about these AMTminers. Also Craig Lenell is a little bitch. See how he checked the former posts.

Dont believe everything you read... Do your research, and dont trust BitcoinX calculator OR genesisblock calculator, but rather an averaged weight of the two.

I would not buy this miner... look around...ask around.  Best bets are KnCMiner or Bitfury, Cointerra...possibly Hashfast.

Make sure they take a Credit Card or Paypal so that you are protecting yourself!!!

I would also ask them who's chips they are using... it will be Avalon or possibly BFL.

I'm going to buy the AMT 320 on Thursday. I'll make some decent profit and I like the low power.

It looks unrealistic. I am not sure about its 25nm devices, but I definitely can say that Bitfury based devices could not be traded with characteristics they claim.
Let's look at their 192Gh/s device $2,349/192Ghs/220W ([url http://advancedminers.com/bitcoin-mining-hardware/amt-192-ghs-bitcoin-miner). The lowest price of Bitfury chips to the moment is $30 per chip if you by the reel (3000 pcs at time) and they never sold it cheaper. The optimal speed is 2.6Gh per chip. At this speed the chip draws about 4W from the wall. 192÷2.6 = 74 chips. 74x4 = 296W and 74x$30=$2220. That means that for the box, power supply and all other components and their profit they have roughly $120. This sounds to me completely stupid.

All my calculations are based on my real experience: I have a unit that has 40 Bitfury chips inside and it draws 160W from the wall producing 104Gh/s. The chips price is an official info from Bitfury himself (got in the Russian part of this forum)

On 1st Nov the difficulty could reach 300million. Please calculate using 300 million and for only 11 days, because about every 11 days it increases again for another 25%.

Why are all these mining rigs such ripoffs (i know why--so ppl can make money)?  These people just take money then don't ship them anything.  You could get a great roi w some of these rigs if they actually existed.  You should never give that much (or any amount of) money to anyone without getting something tangible immediately.  RIP bitcoin mining--absolutely no way to make money with it anymore unless you're one of these con-artist "manufacturers" or cloud hashing services.

Hi guys im back been a while since my last post here, you may remember that i did finally recieve a 520ghs miner from amt order number #1450,
you may also remember the poor condition it arrived in and the fact that it didnt even mine, 1 chip even burnt out on 1 card, well since then i have been promised time and time again a replacement product by joshua himself, it has been several weeks now and i have not received anything from amt, i was promised a shipping label to send the faulty miner back this was nearly 2 weeks ago, still nothing, so i would like to make everybody aware that they need to stay the hell away from amt and do not purchase a miner from them, they have no customer service and can certainly not handle returns.
ive basically been robbed over $3999 or £2800 have been wasted on this miner, i cannot believe it, i could seriously do with that money and instead its sat in amts pocket while i got sent a pile of junk, BE WARNED GUYS LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE, OH AND I ALSO HAVE MR JOSHUAS PERSONAL SKYPE IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO GET HOLD OF HIM PM ME
I HOPE YOU GUYS GET TO READ THIS BEFORE ITS CENSORED AWAY BY AMT#

Also does anyone have the details of this law firm that are dealing with amt?

Don't want to necro this thread but I think its important people note this, seeing as its the second result in a search.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=759543.0

I was customer1, in these chats. Once he was outed by another person who was not a customer in the chats, and Josh denied it to the press, I decided to let the community know they were real as I got fed up. I am pretty sure the OP in this case is actually one of Josh's sock puppet accounts as he tends to do this, this of course is my opinion, but seems likely based on the usual tactic. As this shows up in the SEO results in google I figured this needs the attention it deserves. Joshua Zipkin is a liar and a scammer and we have the proof in chat form.

Bringing this back but I think its important people see whats going on for real with this company. As this thread is high up on the google search index it is important people know whats really going on with this company so they too don't get taken.

Here you can see EVERYTHING about what they have been doing.

The fact is there is plenty of information to determine that they have done nothing but lie time and time again. There are chats to even confirm that (as seen above). I was one of the participants in those aforementioned chats and can provide more than just text on the very same chats (and have in some of the other threads) I was not the leaker however, but the leaker was not a customer who got fed up with the BS. I also got fed up and just decided to disclose my participation in there. Most of it with Joshua Zipkin stating that he was not packing miners, but unpacking them because he had played favorites (something that made the crytptocoinsnews.com rounds).

From this point forward AMT will not be discussing any company issues, giving any company updates, or providing any support on this forum. AMT recognizes some forum members have tried to and will continue to try to speak on behalf of AMT and we urge customers to simply not listen. We will be launching a support forum via our website which can be found at http://advancedminers.com/forums

Our goal is to deliver miners to existing customers and get to the point where we issue full refunds to our clients despite receiving a miner or not. Any opinionated comments from any past clients or non-clientele, allegations, conspiracy theories, rumors, "investigative reports" are most likely fabricated exploits designed to defer new clients from purchasing from AMT. As there are several from this forum ,please realize these individuals do not and never have spoken on our behalf.

We simply don't find this forum to be a valuable tool for helping and supporting our current customer base and due to all the antisemitic, prejudice and racist allegations that are constantly made about our company and our staff, it is no longer a pleasant environment to be apart of. Our true clients that need support understand what we're talking about and we're happy to support them via our thread which we will populate with helpful tutorials and information everyday going forward. Other clients that need immediate technical support can contact sales@advancedminers.com and you'll receive a reply within 24 hours.

We can only hope that our true clients and supporters will see passed the layers of crap to come going forward.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

From this point forward AMT will not be discussing any company issues, giving any company updates, or providing any support on this forum. AMT recognizes some forum members have tried to and will continue to try to speak on behalf of AMT and we urge customers to simply not listen.  Because you publicly passed the support buck to yours truly. So yea you pretty much gave us and me specifically that right and in your little backtrack con pulled back and deleted your posts once you got called out on it.

We will be launching a support forum via our website which can be found at http://advancedminers.com/forums Looks like you took a page from the BFL playbook. They do a fantastic job of censoring their dissent there. And continue to rip people off to this day. I imagine you will be doing the same.

Let's break this down shall we? You have never had any intention of refunding anyone. You made that clear with your various refusals to do so to anyone who asked. That is simply a fact. These are not fabricated events and for saying that now the full truth will come out. Streisand effect in full effect. This will continue until you refund your "past clientelle" for ripping them off.

Our true clients that need support understand what we're talking about and we're happy to support them via our thread which we will populate with helpful tutorials and information everyday going forward.
Considering you have not done that for a vast majority of clients now, this is highly doubtful..

Your "true" clients were all the people in this forum who bought from you. That consititutes a true client...but you defrauded them and lied to them hence....and you have also exposed your vindictive nature which the news reports have already mentioned. You made various claims about support in the past.....since your consistent at being negligent I will let others judge that matter.

But since your SEO efforts to try to keep this forum out of the google searches has failed (if anything its at the top) I think its important to note also you continually are trying to work around giving those refunds. For one its proving to be more costly for avoiding that than it is to actually paying people back. If you did that (refund the difference) these issues would go away and you would actually regain your reputation. But since you have made the clear choice to avoid refunding past AND true and verified clients. Well good luck. I think the community sees you for what you are. And BCT does not need you. You need BCT. That much has ALWAYS been clear. Good luck staying in business. You and anyone who you partner with will feel the community boycotting you. You may have the false confidence to think otherwise. But you won't succeed in conning us. Even if we don't get our money back, you will maintain the stain of being an individual with a tarnished reputation over this whole mess. Either way we will keep on keeping on here as this is where most people come to find out about vendors in most cases.

The OP was likley an AMT sock puppet account as Joshua Zipkin has been known to be vindictive. The press has even covered that in depth in the chat leaks he had with customers who were helping him.... he claims the chats are made up, however I was one of the people in those chats. The original leaker as well (not me) leaked some choice bits. But I can back those up and have with screenshots. Joshua Zipkin is in my opinion a very deceptive individual and I do not recommend trusting him with your money.

Don't send your money to AMT unless you want to feel like a sheep, because you are going to get fleeced.

When they do send you hardware it's lacking basic hardware components like power supplies, as well as cabling, and anything resembling an instruction manual. They they lie to you and tell you a PSU is in the mail. I was told this two weeks ago by the CEO himself Josh Zipkin, of Jenkintown PA. I asked how it was sent and was told express. I've yet to receive my PSU. The leader of the company is incompetent, or so he actually told me via skype chat. He did spell incompetent wrong though, which either proves his point or somehow acts like a double negative. And a double negative is exactly what this company is. They get a F-- for proper delivery, the PSU was left out of my machine but they did include some very rusty sharp metal for some unknown reason, luckily I'm up to date on my tetanus booster.  They get an F-- for customer service, disclosing peoples personal information in forums and using intimidation tactics to try and silence their clients. They get an F-- for business management. The CEO is clueless and any technical experience seems to come from companies they contract with, so side step the middle man on this one and buy direct.
