Title: All I want for my birthday is bitcoins.
Post by: Equanimous on July 21, 2011, 12:31:18 AM
Hi.

Today is my birthday and all I wish for is bitcoins   ;)

Since discovering bitcoins less than a month ago,
I knew that bitcoins should be on the top of my wish list.

So if you feel generous then send bitcoin presents to:

Thanks and have a happy day.

Sorry, but bit coins only work if people hoard them.  It works by deflation, you see. If everyone went around giving away bit coins willy nilly, the market would be flooded and the price would drop.

If your parents pay your electric bill you could use that to get more bit coins.

This is a good idea for a birthday present and I'd probably give you some if I knew you

@WorldClassFissticuffs No, my parents don't pay my electricity but me and a friend is working to set up at mining pool at our local hacker space.

@Oldminer: yes. bitcoins would be a good birthday present.  I believe that paypal become big by giving out money. If someone made a service where you could send bitcoins to other people even if they didn't have a bitcoin account.

All I want, ever, is a bottle of vodka

Absolut, I'd say, or maybe some Smirnoff
But preferably Absolut

My birthday is in December... Plz begin hoarding now; flat-rate boxes are all the rage, and it'd be thoroughly unimpressive if I had to waste precious IRL cycles viciously shredding cardboard and bubble wrap for the entirety of my birthday just to quench my thirst!

0.5 BTC on the way.

Also, http://www.bitcoinmail.com/ is what you are looking for.

What a coincidence. Today is my birthday too. Anyone feeling like giving me a birthday gift, I wouldn't say no to bitcoin. My address is at the bottom.

Thanks.

Sorry Equanimous, if you had 1000+ posts mostly helping others I might consider it. But I have looked through your previous posts and would not personally feel happy donating. But happy birthday anyhow, maybe next year.

Hey, you're a physicist.  Can you tell me how gravity works ;)?

Rather how does it propagate?

the speed is infinite you have to think of it with the Einsten vision and not the Newton vision. It is a curvature of space-time it is done in an infinite speed

When studing real phenomens you can never be sure that you model gives the correct explanation,
you can only see if your experiment and observation agrees or disagrees with you model.

So, Science can never be sure how gravity works,
but can only present you with models for how it might work.

What I find interresing is studing many diffrent models to get as many perspectives on gravity af possible.

Ofcouse most have hear about Newtons and Einstiens model for gravity.
But I think that there is a close connection between electrodynamics, quantum fields and  gravity.
(But this comment is to short to contain the full explanation).

But I will give you some links to other perspectives that I find interesting.
