Title: looking for any mining equipment people want to give away
Post by: pandemic on October 02, 2013, 07:46:17 PM
I'm hoping some people will get tired of their old block erupters, FPGA BFL miners, or GPUs and want to donate them to me. I'm really just hoping to bump up my hashing power the cheapest way possible. Any donations would be appreciated!

#1. I have a damaged Gygabyte GV-R7970C-3GD Rev 2.1 to give away. You pay the shipping. It was mining fine last time I used it, but it shows artefacts when connected to a monitor.

#2. I have a damaged Gygabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD Rev 2.0 to give away. You pay the shipping. Same as above. It was mining fine last time I used it, but it shows artefacts when connected to a monitor.

Both these would be pretty useless as video cards unless you know how to fix them somehow. I used them to mine bitcoins for about 2 months at the beginning of the year. They were still mining fine when I dismantled the machine. I haven't used them since.

PM me if you would like to have them.

UPDATE: Thanks for the PMs. I shipped to the first responder.

Well the two "artefact" cards found a new home pretty quick. But I still have three working 7970s with no artefacts that I've decided to put on Bitmit. I also listed a fourth 7970 with a bad fan, although the card works fine otherwise. I'd also accept reasonable BTC/PPC offers on the listings that have no bids.

I am looking for any used/old hardware as well and will pay shipping costs or whatever. I had mined with a 4870 for a while before getting into using the 7790. The card was a joy to overclock but the low quality of the construction ended up setting me back again (do not trust mining anymore due to the failing cooling system).

Mining isnt my only interest. I enjoy pc gaming with friends on Steam and helping friends out with any technical support or with spare PC parts. (I imagine if I had a tired 5850, I have a friend who would get lots of use out of it, or a ASIC miner would go to my little nephew that is into mining). Thanks guys for being so generous. I will try to pass it on.

-Tony

Any luck getting block erupters? I have 4 good for nothing el cheapo USB hubs that you can have just in case you got a few. Can't even say they're worth asking for shipping costs! Only 3 of the 7 ports work, but maybe you can fix em? I just threw them aside and got nice ones from Bestbuy. As long as it doesn't cost me an arm and leg to ship, they're all yours.

No luck getting any block erupters. I appreciate the offer but I've still got about 5 ports free on my usb hub :)

currently I'm looking for GPU's and miners to help heat my apartment. I hate having to turn the electric heaters on. That power can be used for hashing!

I think we are all here because you wouldn't want 20 topics all taking up the hardware section asking for free hardware? :D I'll also take USB miners... Just throwing that in there :P
