Even if he does, he can't use them to fund his defence... but he might be able to pay people back one day. you never know.

Guys, Guys, we dont know yet if he had a guy killed or not, this might be a way of the feds trying to make him look bad, thats a rumour, and it hasent been confirmed, plus the canadian authorities said there was no homicide the date the hit happened. i don't have a problem with the drug selling on silk road, that's peoples own choice, but hiring hitmen is out of order.

Either way, no matter how much defence he has, he is still fucked!
Even OJ could not get off these charges!

Exactly the reason I haven't posted an address myself - find me someone who's trusted with a history of group buys or something, have them post an address, I'll post it.

Look, the guy may have done some bad stuff, but he is a huge part of the bitcoin community.

You guys are crazy. He might be as innocent as a 2 year old, but as soon as you start giving the notion that Bitcoin users support an alleged murderer and drug kingpin (since the public opinion is all that matters), you are doing MUCH more harm to bitcoin than protecting some random guy in california because prominent bitcoin people should be able to get away with anything based solely on the fact that they are bitcoin users

But he can't use them to pay a lawyer if he says they are his Bitcoins. The Feds will seize them on the spot.
He could send them to the defense fund and voilá: clean BTC to keep him out of jail :P

Don't worry. I'm not in the US and I will quietly disappear with any contributed funds.

The quiet part is a lie and involves sockpuppets. Lots of sockpuppets.

Sorry, I noticed my feedback was off, because me and another memeber had a "misunderstanding" but either way, I got scammed by a hero member.

Back to OP.

What if we bail him out of jail and like Edward Snowden, get him political asylum in Russia or Cuba?

He is fucked. Now what about BMR?

Title: Re: Ross Ulbricht defence fund.
Post by: greyhawk on October 02, 2013, 09:21:09 PM
Now what about BMR?

I can help you with that.

I'll need your gender, age, height, weight and average physical activity level. From that we can determine your BMR by applying the Harris-Benedict formula, which for all intents and purposes should be sufficient for this internet coaching thing. If we're going to be working on a more regular basis towards specific goals we'll have to go a bit more into specifics up to and including a Bodybugg analysis.

Now, were you looking to lose weight or gain mass?

No, seriously, I meant Black Market Reloaded.

i dont think he deserves a defense fund..

to add:

although everyone wants civil freedoms and the ability to do what they like as long as it doesnt bring harm to others. i personally think that bitcoin without silkroad is a good thing.

although other darknet sites may pop up in time to replace silkroad. there is one thing that today (now bitcoin has stabilised back to $128) can be considered as.... a clean coin .... that for now is not going to be used to buy drugs with.

so for atleast a few days (hopefully for me longer) bitcoin is no longer linked to purchasing drugs because silkroad is not functional.

this can bring legit investors into bitcoin as they will see that the dirty illicit has now been removed, and this arrest will warn of new illicit area's from starting up.

we may see some price rises of new investor buy-in's.

BMR got their biggest arms dealer delivered into the slammer last week. I'd assume everyone left there will be crapping his pants and hastily packing.

As smart as he was to make silk road, he was dumb to not bounce out of the country after having the cop swing by and chat with him. I doubt he had any sort of lawyer on retainer and will probably go to trial (or plea bargian) with a public defender. I doubt any lawyer will go pro bono for him.

1. He should of donated some of his proceeds to charity
2. He should of hired a lawyer sometime after the po-po knokced on his door in June 2013
3. Converted his money into USD so he can get the fuck out of the country.

Unfortunately I think it would have pissed off the bloody tyrants even more to see him personally doing good further than just enabling liberty.

Agree.... time to come clean.

If folks want to trade in the shady aspects of crypto-currencies... there are plenty of other alt-coins out there to use!
