Is it something grandiose, like Telegram, or just another hype?

That would be good,uber's cryptocurrency would be great if they can implement the blockchain technology to their existing payment system.I have been using uber for my transportation for about 1.5years and i can say it would be better if we can pay those drivers with the cryptocurrencies ,but i wonder how those governments will allow this to happen.

Yeah, they can implement their own blockchain or make a token based on existing one, e.g. Ethereum, NEO, Waves or Universa.

Can't really say that it's a hype created like a Telegram, Jiocoin etc or a true story. Well if co-founder itself has declared their future plans, then it has quite positive chances of being true. Its launch surely bring a strong bullish wave in the market

It can a really strong project - because it already has a great marketing name in it's possession. As we now - today it may be the most important thing that can boost the success of ICO and the price of tokens.

Yeah surely it might be a real thing in the near future,but this might be too late because there are already some ICOs that are doing payment system with transportations,if you know drivero it is currently in the ICO phase.They should have done this more early if they are really going to have a cryptocurrency for UBER.

It would be not bad, if we can pay for uber in this coin:)) But what`s the necessity of one more "global" cryptocurrency,which we use everyday,I don`t know. Firstly,we need to decide what to do with more than 1k coins and tokens on coinmarketcap

I agree that there are way too many cryptocurrencies out there at the moment. Will more than a handful be feasible one year from now?

I´ve also has read this notice, it is something ridiculous. Really, couple days ago Starbucks also announced their own cryptocurrency,
everyone now launching their tokens, just to speculate, I don´t see any profit for common user.
Maybe I´m not right, but crypto should be universal, we should not buy different alts for different purposes, what do you think guys?

LOL,starbucks? how would you expect those people paying cryptocurrencies? not all the people knows about cryptocurrencies and im sure most of the people who doesnt enough knowledge will say cryptocurrencies and bitcoin is a scam.Either way if this UBER cryptocurrency would be up im sure it will receive a lot of support from our community.

Might be a good thing ,UBER has a lot of users especially me i have been using uber for my good transportation almost everyday,but it would be good if  most of the people are using cryptocurrencies because this will only benefit those people who are involved with cryptocurrencies but im sure if this really going to push thru,the success would clear.

Why would it be to late for them to do their own token for payment on their own business? They have a massive client base that would use their token.
So really it would be a ICO with a working product with millions of daily customers who could be potentially using it.
If they offer some sort of dividend/profit sharing to investors, for me it will be -
"Shut up and take my money"  ;)

A crypto with an un profitable business. I think it will badly affect on cryptos. It may show the world on how easy it is to launch a cryptocurrency. Soon McDonals and Starbucks may also launch its own crypto. LOL JK.

This could be highly successful,  we will see more of this in the future,  starbucks is also trying to either pick a current crypto or come up with its own.   This could be a great opportunity for investment

This could be a good idea if Uber will make their cryptocurrency, because it is a bog company and a great opportunity also for them to be part of innovative technology that we have. I think it will be successful and I’m going to keep an eye for that, especially I am an Uber passenger, so most probably in the future they will accept cryptocurrencies as mode of payment.

Uber helped a lot of people with their innovative business model. I hope their entry into cryptocurrency will do the same. There is a thread here that discusses about using bitcoins as fare or tip on Uber rides.

One more thing there is no attracting money on the ICO stage, so this project will more reliable than Telegram ICO which attracted the unimaginable amount of money from nothing.

Thanks for sharing this, haven't seen it before.  Very large coin supply but I think the hype alone and overall use cases could make it a successful project.

I do not see anything grandiose in the Telegrams ICO, except for the amount of fees. So far it's like playing cash bags. I am very interested in ICO Uber, this firm has proved to be innovative and I think it will successfully work out in the sphere of crypto currency.

And you forget that some cities or countries are more progressive, so everything is possible with relevant marketing.
Blockchain could be just a tool for mayor companies to have the same income, spending less money for market operations.

P.S.The idea of torrent earlier was not considered seriously,  but it is still alive.

This would be much easier the people who are using UBER for their transporation could have easily pay those bills in real time,you dont need to carry your cash but it is a little bit risk because what if the taxi driver will steal your phone and force you to pay big amounts of cryptocurrency assets? as far as i know there are few people who turning into thiefs,rapist and using UBER.

I think that Uber business model has a perfect fit to apply paid services based on blockhain principles.

Eco will not be controlled by any one individual, organization, or nation. University partners will play a key role in the development and helping to guide development of the Eco protocol. Source
No ICO which means no money will be raised for the project. This means any potential legal issues that are currently running rampant in the ICO market can be further avoided.
ECO will issue 1,000,000,000,000 (1 Trillion) tokens of which 50% will be given away. 20% will go to the universities running trusted nodes, 10% will go to advisors, 10% will go to strategic partners, and 10% will go to a newly formed Eco Foundation.
ECO wants to offer pre-mined coins to push the industry in a more “Green” direction and leave less of a carbon footprint than coins currently on the market such as BTC.
ECO plans to have a fully operational test net running by early 2019.

It was just announced March 2018, so we’ll see what really happens with this. The big take away is not a means-of-exchange, speculation-driven, not eco-sustainable and most importantly not equality-minded.

Although the concept of their project is not new, I'm sure this planned ICO will be a huge success because of the team behind it. Let's just wait for it to happen, I hope I will have enough funds to be part of this potential game changing project.

I think the effect of this to the entire cryptocurrency world will not be that significant these is due to the fact that launching cryptocurrency is a new trend for big businesses. . Many corporate are already going to this kind of technology due to advantage it gives to their operation. Though it is certainly big score for the legitimacy of blockchain technology if this project launching pursue.

I thought it wasn't true, but if ICO and the truth will be, then I think there will be a lot of hype around it.

I really like the idea. Uber has both financial and marketing capabilities in order to create a new cryptocurrency, as well as conduct a successful ICO. The question is, how many Uber users will support this idea? In any case, the popularity of Uber will play a positive role.
