Title: slow share submission rate
Post by: geckogroove on July 21, 2011, 04:49:58 AM
hey, i have been mining with btcguild for a little bit and my share count was increasing rather rapidly... i today decided to try deep bit mining pps rather than prop like i was a btcguild although my share rate seems really slow on deep bit... is this normal?

Not sure if this exactly related but I've come to find out and via responses recently that share submission rate is not necessarily in direct relation to your Mhash.

Eg.  in one 1 minute round on deepbit, I was able to submit 7 shares.  In another 1 minute round, I was able to submit 0.  In a 2 minute round, 1 share.  I guess it comes down to each share potentially requiring more Mhash power than another to complete.  I could be wrong but statistically, I'm seeing this all the time.

It's like scratching lottery tickets. It's pure luck how many winning tickets you find.

But if you measure it over several hours and have a fast GPU, it should even out..
