Dear bitcoin community,

Because there are no gains without losses, I decided to open this thread in the hope that I could also learn from your mistakes when you chose the wrong coins in which to invest your money.

For example, I invested in December 2017 and I lost my money in following coins:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Ripple
Bitcoin Cash
Dogecoin
IOTA
NEM

The only coin that brought me profit was NEO.

Well, I think you are not quite right , if you do not sell them the losses you brought . Since the new year the market was in correction of many of the coins were in decline , so you should wait the recovery of the market and sell at the best price . This opportunity is sure to be

So you're saying that waiting for almost 4 months to see if a coin is good for a short-term investment wasn't enough?

I always bought coins at cheapest price, i was still in some profit when bitcoin has hit $7000, so no losses so far. There is a key, never buy a coin whos growing rapidity and at high price.

How did you expect short term profit when you bought after that rapid growth in December? Ok you didn't know at that time but you probably bought near all time high. Well, you probably expected that growth will continue for some time, but you should always keep in mind that buying after 100%+ gains in last month, is risky. It could go on for some time, but usually there is correction coming.
So yeah, 4 months was not enough, apparently it will take more than that to get back to prices in December. But I am optimistic about it so keep Hodling. 

i joined to the crypto currency trading in 1st quarter of  2017.and i don't know much about coins but i bought some coins from bittrex.then i get very small profit and exit from that coin.somehow i collected 0.05 btc.one day i saw people show lot on interest in OKcash. people say it will go to atleast 1$.so i bought okcash for 18K with my all BTC.then it crash like hell and i sold my okcash lot for just 0.009 btc

its the NEM that i've lost not because i invested when the price is at ATH but i have dumped too late  ;D
if i just did it quick while the token is being pumped, i could have saved my profit in my wallet and not in the hands of those whales who pumped NEM. the project is good though i just don't consider it being used by more devs

In terms of loses, I don't have yet since I'm still holding those coins that I bought from that time, I do have nxt when ignis is the talk of the town, too late to  realized that polo will not support the fork, the downfall is part of this system so holding will be much preferred, don't lose hope and keep monitoring if you still have money to use, then buy the same coin that you are holding, so when the time comes to that project and the rise start to show up for sure you will earn a lot and be satisfied.

Oh I wouldn't worry about the coins you got like Bitcoin and Ethereum. They really are not THAT far from their ATH prices (try to think in percentages rather than actual hundreds of dollars).

My current worse performing coin is Elastic. It is current trading at 15% of the price I bought it at (bought over 20k satoshi and now barely 3k satoshi). So that's perspective for you!

i'll say those were my biggest loses. Still uncertain about Hextracoin since they're yet to hit an external exchange.

The hype on TRON was quite high back then, a reason why you should not fomo in, and GRX makes me wonder if it's worth holding a coin for the long term since that's what got me stuck in the first place.

I think that a lot of people got stuck from the Bitconnect project, the same thing awaits ripple project participants, because so many people started buying up the Ripple project when it was very expensive.

Yikes! You actually bought almost every top. A smart investor wouldn't buy the euphoria in any market.

Bitcoin - should have waited for the January crash
Ethereum - should have waited for the January crash
Ripple - bought too late
Bitcoin Cash - future uncertain, shouldn't consider
Dogecoin - shitcoin
IOTA - has issues
NEM - months too late.

Everyone who bought in nov or December ar in the loss.
As all the market is in a dip right now I believe that I can put all my portfolio here and say that it brought me a loss.
But I have patience and wait for the dip to be over.
If I have to put my finger on a certain coin it would be NEO but only because I thought I can trade...  ;D

I did not lose a lot of money on such coins, because I knew and waited for the best moments for sale. But on coins below 1 dollar repeatedly unlucky, the benefit of the losses were not so great, therefore, there is little regret.

I got big loss in new token called Utrust and Bitdegree, the price down up to 70% from the price when i bought it. But i just patient wait for uptrend because my purpose to hold it in 1 years. But other mayor coin like ETH, DASH, LTC, WAVES still given me profit because i bought it since 6 month ago.

carVertical (CV) brought me over 20K loss. But it's my fault to over-trust their token.

When CV was 60K satoshi, I was thinking that this is the bottom. Now I will be lucky if I see it over 40K any time soon.

I bought Storm token in the top and now iam in big loss about $17,000 , the price is drop alot. But for other coin like ETH and BTC iam in profit because i bought it  afew years ago. I hope my loss in Storm will recover soon because look now the price oversold and ready for bullish trend and to the new ATH again.

It seems you have been investing your money at peak, i'd not be surprised to see you have been loosing a lot of your money. I was loosing my money in iconomi because i was making a wrong decision about to bought so many coin at peak but after the developer was changing the business plan and then a lot of people are pushing their money to another project and that makes me lost more tha 80%. But i was never making any wrong way again after that.

I got burnt by NANO aka XRB mainly because of Bitgrail Exchange insolvency. Still trying to recover it although bought near ATH at $20+.

I bought ZClassic when it was $80-95 last week before the fork. Now, ZClassic is hardly $10. I'm just waiting for the exchange of Bitcoin Private so I can really cashout my losses.  :D

This is one of my favorite thread, I want to read everything about the loses and Altcoins that brought unfortunate to their investors so I could stay away from them.
Losing money can be avoided when we consider some members experiences for our own advantage.
Spending time to research seems not enough to conclude that those Altcoins are more valuable to invest.

In my half year of being a member in this forum, I only known BitConnect and ZClassic are giving massive loss to it's investors due to major issues.
I really don't want to lose my Crypto Assets and my money so I study all the altcoins that has red tags on their heads.
Thank you for bringing up this thread so people may know what altcoins to be considered as scams and fraud.

It appears that many investors have been at loss with Tron. Personnaly I've just entered the game in february so I don't understand what is really a loss. I hope that the fall won't go further.

Ouch! It hurts each time I remember regalcoin. That coin till date remains the one I recorded a great loss in, losing over $600 for a mere 10units I bought. I didn't know I was catching a fallen knife when I bought into it @$62+ just like every other person bought the coins that later gave them losses. Still a sad experience because regalcoin is worthless at less than a dollar now. However, the good thing about crypto trading is that you don't totally lose until you finally sell off. The fallen coins (I am not referring to regalcoin because it is dead already) can return to entry price or even record some profit.

I lost a part of my deposit when bought NXT at the pump time. I still keep it because the present price is 3 times lower then the price I bought.

above all coin ripple makes me losses.when ripple price increased 3+$ i bought 2000 ripple with 6000$. Now ripple price dumping and makes me great loss.

ICO when I heard my friend say that investment is a good way to profit, so I invested a lot of the ICO project, but most of the ICO project had a very bad price, I lost a lot of money due to ICO project investment.

Any coin will lead to a loss only when you sell it for a loss. So it depends on us if there are any losses done by any coin. It's our mistake if we sell any coin in a loss instead of waiting for the right moment to sell. For me it would be XRP. I had traded XRP for about 5-7 times all this while and every time it lead me to a loss. Although its my fault since I was the one to sell it in a loss. I could have just hold it until it returned a profit.

I think the ones I bought where I lost big time are TRON, Paragon Coin and Plexcoin. For Blackmoon Crypto, Electroneum, Universa, Crypterium, UCoinCash and LoyalCoin, it's still a win for me because they're above the ICO price.

I still have some faith in these tokens/coins that I am holding, especially those ones I have mentioned who suffered massive losses during the mid-January to early February crash.

For me the alts have been very lucky till now except Ethereum.I have traded in Ripple,Monero,Zcash and got good profit.The only two coins that have been the most unluckiest coin for me are BItcoin and Ethereum.These are the two giants of crypto and i have lost most in them.Bitcoin has never been positive for me.Has happen four to five times and all these losses has different way but the reason is same my Patience.

The massive losses was when I bought Zcash and Bitconnect. Bitconnect was really upset because with money we also lose decentralized platform

I lost my money only once when I bought a NEO for $50 after that, its price dropped to $20..... But I continued hodl and now I sold it at a profit)

XRP when i was so noob i bought all of my money with this coin,not knowing it is centralized coin and being manipulated by these bankers,to what i have learned it has the banking structure which makes it not a good investment because these bankers are making billions of dollars out of thin air when i know that information i have dumped all of the XRP that i have luckily i recovered half of my losses.

Tron (TRX)  brought me the huge losses,  i hope that these coins maybe in a long term period will bring me  zero balance, i will be happy if it will be true))))

I think INS the the worst mistake in trading I've ever had :)). I invested about 0.1 BTC to buy INS token on Binance when it'd been listed for few days. After I bought INS, the downtrend started. LOL. I couldn't cut my loss on time so for now I'm still stucking with INS token. LOL. I bought it at 0.0007 BTC/INS and INS price is under 0.0002 BTC/ INS for now :))

One of the coins I regretted buying into was TRON as it brought a massive loss to my portfolio.

While calculate all of them the most big fail was buy NXT. But it's my fault because I did it on the high and sell the bottom.

Lost money on nano bought in 29$. Lost some on stellar, tron, bitcoin, vechain. Disappointing times. We all be rich by now if people can predict the next moon. I got no more juice investing. Gonna buy more ether n bitcoin only

I think to feel lost with my money yet because I invest with confidence and patience so I take advantage of the opportunities that there really just need a strategy and patience alone to earn profits in investing

One month before I have bought etherdelta (EDT) token worth of $1500 and then starting of dumping this coin. not only that this coin is now delisted from coinmarket cap. this is my first biggest regrets of trading histry.

A word of advice.  Move on and don't dwell on your losses.  There are new opportunities to make money in cryptocurrencies on a regular basis.  When the market is bullish, you can basically close your eyes and pick a winner, that's not recommended though.  Always do your research before buying anything.   

I made my biggest loss on substratum but technically I've not lost until I have sold and I'm happy holding substratum, I really think net neutrality will push substratum higher the more aware the public become Of censorship

At the moment I'm at a loss for the coins that I bought in December and January - it's ADA, Capp, Edg, and a few more.  Now the loss for them is about 50-55% in bitcoins.  But we can not talk about the loss until we sold these coins.  And I'm not going to sell them in minus.

I think all of us suffered terribly lose of investments or missing to sell high opportunities on that month because all digital currencies experienced the wrath of ultimate corrections so therefore there is need to share what coins that we lose. Its just very unfortunate for you because the timing of corrections is not in your favor in which you bought the coins in that month but that is the risk if we join digital currencies investment as the price is really unpredictable.

I often use Ethereal, Bitcoin and Dogecoin, but all this time I've never been in disadvantage, because I sold it when the coin price went up. if the ethereal price drops then I will wait for the price to rise again, therefore I am not harmed by this coin.

BCD and jex, these two encryption currencies made me lose a lot of money, because I did not do the preliminary market research, which resulted in serious losses. I regret buying BCD and jex.

I haven't done "massive losses" but did some bad decisions and bought both siacoin and digibyte in 2017. But I haven't sold yet so they might bounce back up one day, I still believe they will. I don't mind holding but I wish I never bought them since I could have used that money to make a lot of profit from other coins.

Electroneum will always be my first heartbreak. I could have got five times of what I have had, but I sold it at the time that I thought would be the peak. I have had countless of anxiety after that incident.

I think if I am to calculate my loss on paper, copy track will be the annoying token bought that got dumped more than 80% in first day! I had high hope for that token but I guess the timing was wrong for that token to be listed.

I think anyone buying in December will be experiencing similar losses, it was just a bad time to buy. Same with recent ICOs that have come to market, majority in extensive double digit losses. As has been mentioned above though, until you actually sell, the loss is hypothetical. Some of my investments are down between 60-70%, others less than that; and still holding some that I invested in back in September, which although not in the red, are definitely a lot less attractive looking than they were two months ago. Holding is the key, I try not to invest in anything I am not willing to hang onto, but it is frustrating being 'trapped' in investments I hadn't necessarily planned on holding for the next few months. What to do, this is why there are huge gains to be made, the market fluctuates wildly. Keep an eye on coins you're interested in, but are still too high, and jump in when they hit your price point. I've managed to pick up a couple that I thought I had missed out on.

Burnt by the Legendary TRX and Justin Sun. Not much lost but overall it performed the worst in my portfolio.

if you buy Coins and the value drops, doesn't mean you get a loss, because someday as long market still positive the price will bounce back.
i even still hold NXT that i buy at 1.2$ before Ignis Airdrop begin.even i am not sure the price will back to 1$ again  ;D ;D

the coin that makes me broke is ethereum i was bought it at 1100 $ and now its drop to 880 $. i was bought it when ethereum plan to make a hard fork and now they cancel it. i do still believe ethereum will back again to 1100 $ and im plan to hold it untill end of this year hope i got my money back.

My big miss is Ripple, after i am buying ripple all market going down. It's a curse

Bitcoin since last December it crashed i lost a lot back then, another one is NEM that bad news about the hacked nem really affects my portfolio it really a hard time for nem back then i lost a lot too and the last one the brought me massive lost is litecoin i don't know what i'm thinking it's just back then when i'm starting to trade i'm really lack of knowledge i bought a lot of litecoin i really think it will rise like bitcoin but it never does i end up lossing a lot back then too.

i think it happened recently with NXT, aiming for the  free IGNIS. Before the distribution happen, the NXT price  was dump more than 75% in my opinion, not sure but big enough if I can remember. This is one of the unforgettable experience for me in crypto trading.

All the coins you mentioned would bring you losses if you sold them now but you invested in them in the Mid Dec - Early Jan boom. They are all down 40-50% compared to the prices back in Dec-Jan. We have to hold the coins and see how the situation develops.

it was the worldcore that brought me the biggest loss, I lost the most money with wrc

my biggest loss is on ltc coin. at that time I put a lot of investment but at the time of its price down I was not quick in taking the decision as a result I suffered quite a lot of losses, and for other coins I do not so much lose.
but at the time of January bitcoin prices pretty much decrease in price so big impact which is generated, the losses suffered are quite large and some other coins are experiencing the same thing when bitcoin prices fall

Until now I have not experienced the biggest losses in trading this digital currency, because the strategy that I do by acting quickly to sell the coins I sell before the price movement has decreased very sharply. If I do not think it's the right time to sell it, I always stay calm and do not panic, it's better to wait by holding it until the price of the coins I sell can skyrocket.

I lost a lot in BTC and that's the last time I'll be investing in that dinosaur of a coin. I've made quite a bit on altcoins though.

well I bought litecoin in december hoping to make profit with this coin then litecoin slowly going down and down, I'm losing my money with this coin but I just keep holding hoping to reach at least $400 this year.

I am in huge losses in XRP but i am recovering losses by purchasing as much as i can now to reduce average purchase cost. I will hold till it reaches $5 per XRP.

If anyone remembers comodo coin than yeah I had few hundred dollars invested in it. Lost it all. The dev just exit scammed and ran away behind the pretext of legal repercussions if he stayed on the project. Blanked the website and the project just like that. Millions of dollars worth of value gone in a day.

The coin that brought me massive losses was digibyte as this lost a lot of sat's value and haven't  recovered till date.

That would be XRP when the last FUD was hyped,coinbase FUD last year really gave me a lot of losses i invested 3BTC for the hype and ended up with .9 after the dumpage of this centralized shitcoin,that is why i wont buy XRP ever again to what i have learned the bankers are manipulating its price that is why there are no much movements from its market.

I gained profits with NEO too when the time it renamed it self from ANTS to NEO, my invested money went up to 150% however, NEO also is the culprit when I faced my biggest loss, its was when the price of NEO dropped because of the China news and ghost month. I even thought that after ghost month price will start to recover right away, but it was a wrong forecast, it took quite some time before price of NEO started to recover.

All the coins in your list are very good coins which is proof of something really important it is not only about the coin in which you invest it is also about the when, investing in December of the previous year was probably the worst moment to invest in a long time so it is not a surprise you have lost so much money even when all the coins in your list are some of the most successful in the market.

XRP brought me the biggest losses that i ive had,from the last FUD i bought a lot of XRP half of my portfoli to be exact were burned after the massive dumpage,the coinbase listing FUD was all in the news and its price were dump by those people who are manipulating this coin probably the bankers are dumping this coin from that time,so i suggest stay away from this centralized coin.

That would be the manipulated coins such as XRP ,NEM , and BCASH or bitcoin cash,these are the worst coins you will ever hand,pure manipulations by its founder who are making millions of dollars out from nothing,you wont see any improvements or big movements with these coins even if all the charts has favored them,dumping massively by its founders causes dumpages of its prices.

After January none of the coin becomes a good value in the market. Still all the coins are underestimated value. I believe the coin XRP is not a worthy coin bro but I see ripple capture almost 2 percent of the marketcapital.
ADA should grab this place of XRP. I do not why people keeping this coin on head and investing on it.

I got Oyster Pearl PRL while it was priced value as low as $0.0005 last year on November and after 6 weeks it surges as high as almost $5 so I am really amazed by Oyster's surge since it was hit the market as early as 4 months in coinmarketcap.com but eventually happened after it climbed on top of almost $5 it is continuously  dropped to the ground and the price today is on $1 range for over a month so Oyster Pearl PRL investors when the price was almost $5 had a massive loss today.

Mine worst investment was done with musicoin. I bought it for short term but it was on peak and I didn't realize it cause I was too busy following bitcoin. I lost like %50 of my investment and returned back to bitcoin.

The loss only be declared when you want to save your around 50% of Crypto Assets and turn them into cash but never expected that was only a sudden dip and when the market recovers everything takes in place that almost coins are on their high peak of values.
I though I lose most of my crypto Assets since this early year but I realize that holding my Crypto Assets is the best option I can do to not losing them fully.
Oyster Pearl PRL almost give me massive loss but thankfully I survived the market crash too many times this year.

This would have been a disheartening situation for you. I encourage you to continue in your investing spirit. You win some you lose some but next time, take your time and don't always believe a flying coin has everything good in stock. I hope you don't catch a grenade next time. ::)

I think what you are trying to say here is, it cant be considered as a loss until you have sold the coins one holds in exchange for some other crypto in hype or fiat money. That’s true, unless one holds the coin and hasn’t sold, it cant be considered as a loss. Its just matter of time till the market rises again and everything is back to normal and we see bullish trend. The coins you are holding have quite good potential and are the coins in top 30 market cap. So hold on to it and you shall see huge gains.

Ripple, and even iota, let me down. But if it was worth waiting for from the ripple, then why did not IOTA go? This is an incomprehensible question, although I most likely chose the wrong moment. The rest of the not very expensive coins did not take away my superfluous nerves and decided not to disappoint, it's monero, dash, even lisk.

It's on 2017 when I bought Siacoin around 700 sats during that time, near its all time high. I am just new to trading before and do not have a trading plan so when I saw that it is increasing, I chase it and I end up being dump. After a few months, I decided to dump it around 150 sats. It is a pretty big loss for me. I cash out the remaining trading capital and decided to stop trading. Months later, I really wanted to trade so I watch a lot of youtube videos and read about trading. I learn the importance of risk management and now, I am slowly getting back what I lose.

The biggest loss to me was the SC coin. I bought it in the summer of 2017 in the hope of good growth, but it fell more than 6 times. Now I try to be more alert with weak coins.

I invested in quite many cryptos in the early period of January. Almost all the coins I have bought have bought me loss as the market was at hype that time and I want so good in crypto market and invested without analysis. Although I have loss currently, I am holding all my coins and wont sell time until I am in profit. Patience is the key to earn in crypto market and I have so.

I am even ready to hold coins for 5 years if it takes to get profit. I have basically invested in XRP, NEO, IOTA, ADA and TRX. I know the coins hold potential and will rise for sure in upcoming months.

Well, if you had invested in such coins for short term, you should have sold it till mid January till the market was in quite hype and had rose past what the market was in December, you could easily have made profit. If you hold 4 months, its not short term, its middle term trading. Once you must decide the pattern in which you are trading, then you must buy the coins accordingly.

If you bought in December for short trades, you should have sold in mid January, you would be sitting on profit right now. Now you don’t have a choice other than to hold. Analysis is important. Do it the next time you think of investing or trading.

IOTA was a real bummer... and I don't think it will get any better in the near future. Especially the wallet has serious security issues...

I understand why you lost money, you bought all the coins at the peak of the price, and now deep drawdown. I didn't do that and not lose money.

True. He bought the coins when the market was at its peak and in quite much hype which made the prices of crypto currencies swell. Always buy during the corrections and not when cryptos are rising rapidly cause many time you miss the train in such situation. And always buy in parts when there are dips. Keep buying small amount of cryptos in every dip and keep selling some amounts in every pump. By doing so, you shall never face lose.

This can be a really big issue when you have a lot of coins in your portfolio it can be difficult to keep track of all of them and when a single coin gets all your attention then a part of your portfolio will suffer any if by bad luck that coin happens to dump you are probably going to lose a significant amount of money the same way that happen to you so it is better to keep just a few coins maybe five to ten before you get more experience.

Im new in crypto trading and based on my experience XBY was one of the coin that give me massive losses because during that time when im holding it. I am lack of knowledge about trading..

Last year, I have suffered a lot of losses by trading bitcoin. I mainly traded bitcoin. It is also a source of income for me. I have also gained bitcoin.

Keep your chins up guys. Keep your faith in good projects and the rewards will come.

Personally, I have lost money on such coins:
Stratis, Nem, Ethereum Classic, Eidoo.
And the coin on which I lost the most money is, of course, the king of all currencies - Bitcoin

Currently, I have not invested in many cryptos, but I draw experience that the coin in the top 10 if the investment in the long term at least one year will not suffer losses, while investment in altcoins or ICO capacity Losses will be high due to the dependence on Bitcoin and Ethererum. The INS is crypto that made me lose more than 50% of its assets when investing in it.

Right now the stupidest decisions was to buy Bitclave tokens when it was at 0,3$ per token, right now its value is completely shattered.

I bought ETC and now price fall down twice. Can you imagine I lose 50 percentages of my initial savings! :o
But I still believe in crypto currency. Today price of BTC, for example, attract me a lot! If I have some free money, I put it into crypto.

The way will make us lose is selling the asset when the price goes lower from the buying price.
If we are holding and waiting for the price up, i am sure that the price will recover again.

I've lost a lot of money in crypto nxt, on December 25th I bought nxt with the highest price of 29.66 idr / nxt, after that the market fluctuated, I think nxt will get better again, the price will strengthen and go back up, so I keep it, month february no signs nxt will improve, I finally sell at the price of 3.033idr / nxt. even until now nxt never returned to the price where I bought on December 25, 2017 it. And even now it's 1.855idr / nxt, maybe at that time the coin is in the pump, so it will never return to that price again.

Labcoin make me the biggest lose in my crypto life. Because labcoin is totally a scam, and take away a lot of money.

For me, I lost about 50 bitcoin.

Talking from December 2017, this is a very small time period for calculating your P&L (Profit & Loss).
Over the long term, my biggest gainers are NEO (as I purchased during Antshares ICO), RPX, ETH and few others.

ALTs which gave me massive losses are SIA, XVG, STRAT.

no need to buy coins for them...if you want to earn good money it is better to invest in ICO. Coins to buy on them is not a good idea.

And how exactly did you lost that money? Because it is kind of difficult to lose money with bitcoin after all in the previous year the price went up, did you invested when the prize was getting out of control? Because if that was the case then that was your mistake after all it was very clear that such a growth was impossible to sustain for the long term.

A friend of mine bought a lot of TRX and It was valued a lot in the peak time, after seeing that he bought a lot more TRX at a high price, then market crashed. The loss is not a lot and he is still holding it. Hope he can see his lambo days soon.

The biggest loss was a few years ago when I invested in Beonpush. Later they created their own BeonPushCoin. The most disappointing scam ever. Never buy this coin.

EOS, Cardano, Stellar, NEO, OmiseGO, VeChain, and IOTA are the ones that I have made significant losses (20-30%) so far.

But I am buying more the more they drop.

Substratum and Wabi. Got in at sub at $1.40 to $1.50. It has been under a dollar since late Jan and is currently under 40 cents. Got in on wabi at $1.70 to $2.00 and is currently at 80 cents. CDT (Blox) - Invested while platform release still no postitive news even lost 50% of investment
POSTOKEN - Great concept in ethereum Proof of Staking From past 1 month dev noit responding to community so coin dumping.
EDT- Worst investment i ever done ( Etherdelta token)

I got stuped in my ass bl XRP...

for me ripple was a disaster. but I am to be blamed for it coz without understading fundamentals i delved into it. if you ask me today, I would have never invested in ripple. shit happens   :D

I haven't any coins brought me a massive losses because I always monitored my coins, specially the movement of its pricing. Also, before I invest in any coins, I read first its strength, position in the market and how much time will return my investment. These are the factor I consider before investment so that I don't have any losses in investment.

Well, I bought them same like you but I still holding it so I never loss anything. I have my own strategy to my coins that I bought last year and never sell yet. I will try my luck next year, so better watch out for the future of our coins.

In early December of 2017, I bought a coin NXT 500 USD (hoping to get airdrop ignis in January 2018). At this time my money remaining 40 USD.

Both coins and tokens that brought me most losses i have also learned a lot from those experiences
Example I bought TRX during a pump which then dumped and dnt realize the previous value meaning I am still in loss.
Same thing with 'status coin' I jumped on it crypto 0.5x

I'm glad never invested too much on more altcoins. I have Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin and more. I invested just a little that just bring me a little profit but with a good choice and decision brings me much more profit in all. I think and I remembered ETC losing it on trading but on my investment lost just a few on Bitcoin after dropping 20%. But I think most of my investments brings so much too me and I'm lucky.

All the coins I got after Jan is all down big time. All coins I got in December seems to doing well. So it's not about choice but time of investment

Unikoin Gold, my assets are in -54%
Debitum, my assets are in -29.4%

But anyway, i'm still holding it until now, so it can't be say that i lost my money yet, i'm just hoping that the price of my assets will back to my buying price, and what i do while waiting for it is buying more assets on the lower price.

well if you organise your live according to the USD you then have indeed a problem, there are people that have fixed themselves among a bunch of cryptocurrencies and run only those. will be the future i assume.

Oh same with NXT, Ignis. I bought NXT for the IGNIS bonus but it suddenly drop. I managed to cut my losses, but  I am still at a big loss.  ;D  Now, with Ignis, same situation. Recently, its THC that dd to my losses LOL Hope it can recover , I am on -65 % already.

That is a simple question, all depending on when you brought and sold.  Look at all the people who got bitcoin when it was on a tear, up to 19K people though it would not stop.  Coinbase was opening 100,000 accounts a day.  Someone's riches is always someone's losses

At least he didn't made a mistake of selling his coins when the coins were very cheap, however if he wants to earn a fortune by investing in cryptocurrencies he didn't make him sell any kind of favor by buying a coin when it was so expensive, it is repeated a lot that you need to buy low and sell high but people do this because it's the truth and yet people still buy at very high prices and yet they hope to get a lot of profits.

The coin that give me massive loss is Bitdegree. Even though I just received it only as a bounty payment, The amount when I receivef it is more than 2k usd.  I was not able to sell it at peak price because I dont know how to use a decentralized exchange during that time so I waited it to be listed in a centralized exchange to be sold. When I sold it is less than 600 usd.

some big coin is indeed promising then submitted a loss in quite some time. but that's not too made a problem because of course, it could still be awaited to rise in next time. as I started to purchase some crypto results from a low value I think the downturn a few months ago not to be serious to worry about.

Verge is one coin that brought me a lot of losses, granted I did buy the coin at the worst possible time to buy coins and then the price of the coin started crashing and just when I thought there was going to start to be some kind of increase in the coin the hacks started, there were two in the space of two months and that really affected the price of the coin

The biggest losses were with TRON, ETH for all the time they are with the drawdown of the market brought big losses

None of them gave me massive losses because I was careful enough and sold on time. Now I am ready to re-invest, since I see that there is quite a perspective next year.

Well I bought into crypto in early 2017 so prettymuch everything I bought is still well above my purchase price. There are a few things I bought later in the year where I wasn't so lucky. But it's not a loss until you sell ;)

Coins that went 2-3x down in price is not really big loss! I got burned really bad with BTX, Red Pulse (now Phoenix), MNX, Telcoin, TKY and so on... But there are those where I got really nice profit but thats another story. I thing when getting stuck with bad coins is just a result of not doing enough research.

In my peraonal experience, the coin that brought me pain and massive losses is BITCOIN and ethereum  and Oyster pearl. Tgese coins brought me happiness because it yielded a fair amount of returns and at the same time, it also gave me a lot of heartache. I have invested  good ampunts at the start of the year 2018 little did I know that this is not a year for me. The market continues to bring color red almost the entire year. Oh well, I hope next year will be better.

I have never been in massive losses situation because i dont sell cryptocurrency when i am in big loss,i would rather hold that certain coin and wait for the right moment of selling

What i can tell is about the coins who gave me profits,and those are Bitcoin,Litecoin(when the said coin is still progressing not like now)Dash and Waves

Mostly i am associated in Tokens because i constantly joining bounty campaigns whos paying Token instead of coins

Maybe I'm just on a ripple which too long stifled and finally fell. When selling this at this point in time that happened and then ATH certainly most likely profit will be obtained. but it is precisely that there is a value falling even all crypto. already a risk and I don't really think about it.  ;D

Ethereum is the one who make me big loss. I was buying ethereum when it was around 300 dollars and after bye ethereum it will be cross 1000 dollors too but I was very strong holder of the coin so I did not sold at this rate and its again trading around 200 dollars.. So it's just make me so worried. But still I am great holder of eth and wish it could increase soon.

I never have experience that caused me a massive loss yet but i am sure it can be recovered back even with the slightest spike of crypto price hike because i bought majority of my cryptos during the market crash.

So far, ETH has caused me a lot of losses in 2018, I bought 50 ETH in June when it was at 450$ and I decided to hold it until the end of 2018 with the hope that the price would have It goes up 700-1000$. And it goes down every day after I bought it, Until now I've lost more than 60% of the total money I invested

although i still believed in it by holding it for a bit longer, ethereum has been a loss for me. im just hoping that maybe this december or next year it will do a massive impact in the crypto world

All of the coins have at some point brought me losses, which is why I have decided that there is no way that I am ever going to sell coins when the prices are down. Even bitcoin has at some point brought me losses but that was when I was not being smart with the decisions I was making concerning those coins that I have, I am smarter now so I am making more profit than losses

I am sorry for you, I can completely understand how frustrating this could be but kindly wait for few more days as it is already in the last quarter the value might increase in December. Hodl your coins mate don't sell in panic and lose your hard-earned money. Good days are on the way.

At the beginning of the year, I bought the TRX for 0.15$ and I take the first defeat in 2018. The price fell right after that and continued to fall, When I was so frightened and panic I sold all at 0.09$ and I lost almost 50% of my fortune within two weeks

coins that give me a big loss. maybe Ethereum and ripple. I suffered a huge loss from these two coins yesterday. I learned a lot of things, one of which is not to force something if we are late.

I was trapped with more 50% loss with NXT.
I was holding for ignis but the price of both coins crashed and that was so pathetic for me :(

Well I am not sure about the coins that bring losses but definitely know the coins that can make you happy. These are Paragon, Stellar and Cardano. I am so glad to have these coins because they shall rise really soon.
