Where do you see the price of BTC and altcoins heading? Do you think cryptocurrencies will see more gains?

This is just the beginning of the year and we had still 3 quarters and 1 more month for the year to end . Thus this provides a huge time for any crypto investors to buy the coins at lower rate currently and then sell if required once the price stars to move upwards. Also if some good news comes in the market the price will move upwards quickly .

A part of yes and a part of maybe. Yes, because most of the expert and bitcoiner user expect that through 2020. A part of maybe, because I see how useful of this online currency around the world. So the high graph of demand, the high possibility of this will continue to grow. Who knows about tomorrow, just expect the best to crypto community, we experience all the benefits if this happen.

I use the Coinmarketcap and Coingecko site to check the price changes frequently when the cryptocurrencies fluctuates in the market. For your subject line query I would like to say that I am looking to find the crypto spikes more in the market.
There are people still expects the cryptos to fall back to buy more coins but it is not healthy for the market. Now marketcapital seems increasing more hope it go up further.

In my opinion this year will end in a very good figure. indeed lately the price is still still seen up and down and it seems it is a small bump that blocks the rate of its bitcoin price. but, it will not affect bitcoin, because of the many role of alts that help the bitcoin rate.
a little bird told me about it like this, that the spike will still occur in 2018 and will bring the price to a very brilliant point. we also have to be alert with surprises, whether it crashes or anything else, I also do not know.

Exactly. I am sure it is just a matter of time before we see new records in prices as well as market capitalization. However, what we see now doesn't look like an improvement of state of affairs. I don't think the market is really going up already. At best, it's just finding its stable position. Bitcoin is 11k+ for a couple of days, which is good, but not good enough for us to say that it is recovering. The same holds for other coins like ripple, iota, neo, litecoin. I suppose it's safe to say that the market stopped bleeding and I say it is good enough for now.

Definitely yes, though sometimes we may be forced to say otherwise because of the constant instability in the price; most people loss hope because of this especially when they have purchase their coins when the price is high. They tend to see the coin as slacking. But bear in mind that cryptocurrency is here is stay because it will be a very popular digital currency in the future, so it is better to hold on to your coin against all odds.

We do not need to invest on the coins when the time it spikes up. I go with buying the altcoins when the time it dumps more. As I have mentioned here I have invested on NEO and NEM today.
Everyone will consider that I have done the wrong move since the other coin bumped in the market.
We do not need to find the bumped coin whenever you are looking for investment.

Some ICO projects have been stopped because of the government's supervision of ICO projects, and the recent market has started to fall!

If the us government had some laws on ioc projects, that would be a bad influence on the market.

The bitcoin price manage to stay at $10.0 to 11.0K USD for a week and it seems waiting for some indication where it be going but for sure this will create a bigger spike going up in a couple of weeks. Be patient it will be happen to reach a new all time high.

generally users or investors see the price of coins, such as bitcoin and others can be viewed in coinmarketcap. that's where they get a lot of information about the price of the coins they are looking for. talking about my own spike problem also do not know. Why? because seeing this situation in my opinion will not be profitable. better the price of bitcoin and other coins rise slowly only, if the price suddenly jumped up the likelihood will also occur suddenly. Theres no specific or particular time that we can able to point out when it comes to price recovery.As of this writing we are really experiencing red days again because of news or recent happenings in the market. Binance had issues and we do see the effects it causes. Dipping prices is normal and as a trader we do see these things are opportunities on making money. Cryptocurrencies has still lots of space to developed or progress even more which I don't really have a doubt that it would still able to spike higher.

The crypto market is in it's infancy...so yes, it is going to grow by leaps and bounds over the next decade.  Getting into crypto right now is similar to getting involved in the internet in the late 80's.

There's a lot of months still waiting for us, market has been more of red lately and i don't see any sign of bullish run that will happen soon. Sure that a huge pump will happen this year but the always question is when and how long it could be since when there's a pump a correction will always occur.

Price movement to date is still stable and there has been no serious spike. Seeing the year 2017 fluctuate occurred in november which set a new record in the history of bitcoin, but there was a drastic decline after that. A poor start to the year can be our benchmark for this year. Many are speculating that there will be a spike in 2018 but I myself have little doubt there will be a spike in 2018, will it be profitable or harmful? I do not know.

All of us are wishing and hoping that crypto markets will continue to spike higher.
But theres always be a potential that it may not happen, because we cannot know the exact future of cryptomarket.
For now lets takes every opportunity, buy when the market is down and make profit when the market is high.

all is not over yet, because this is only a third in early 2018. bitcoin price movements are still experiencing the price correction stage although there are still many big players who can play in the market. We see in previous years the price movement bitcoin will be increased sharply after always a decrease in the market price.

looking at the current bitcoin value, i'm not sure about the high spike that will occur in 2018.
But when i see and remember bitcoin users are getting more and more, i believe there will be an increase of bitcoin this year, but i am pessimistic that the increase will be very high.

We cannot so sure about the future of cryptocurrency, but if you look at the history you can see there that every time cryptocurrency falls it bounce back and go higher. Now if you don't believe that cryptocurrency will not pump in the next 5months better to leave the cryptomarket because in the first place you must believe and make your own study about the current situation.

Yeah, and it is even normal to see movements like this in the beginning of every year. Sometimes last year, we had some situations like this and at the end of the day the market came back strong and we started testing new ATHs on bitcoin and other coins as well. The day is still very young and we have a lot ahead of us. I believe we will still see the market back strong and we should always remember that corrections cannot take place forever as well as spikes.

Obviously crypto markets will continue to spike higher. The good thing about the cryptocurrency market is that it is still new and if we are to consider the present adoption rate, it is even still low and we have not seen anything yet. I so much believe that generally, the market will always have some high level of spikes but it takes patience. There is a time for everything in the market, a time for increase, decrease, consolidation and so on.

i also notice it that every first quarter of the year, the bitcoins price do always decrease but eventually it will also recover and make its new all time high just before the end of the year and for sure this could also happen again , that is why we should prepare for it as early as possible. but overall crypto markets wont spike higher all the time because people do also sell out thier coins and that is the reason on why the markets are falling but it should soon increase if they are be able to buy again.

exactly!  I'm located in the USA, and almost everyone I know has no clue about crypto.  There was also a time when the "Stock Market" was new and confusing and didn't have a lot of buy-in.  Fast forward to today, and it's hard to find someone who's not playing the stock market in some manner...either through actively trading or investing in a 401(k).

This industry is so new and has so much potential, that it's definitely going to rise. 

With the news left and right, good or bad is still a publicity so I guess cryptocurrensy will see more gains as time goes by.  Cryptocurrency may experience bloodbath but it was already proven that thre is always time for recovery and mooning.  I believe once cryptocurrency is globally accepted, price will go up .

I think that once again you sound empty words. Almost every time everyone discusses each other that the crypto currency will go up, but this does not happen. As nobody will dismiss about the facts or the proof of the words. Look at today, Bitcoin falls again down. Already 8 500 dollars and yet can not stop .

Yup bitcoin's price will still goes up and i think it will hit about $17k to $18k  before the year ends.  Its also very evident on its price chart history that its price continuously rise with time, thats why more are becoming intersted of it. Nothing can stop bitcoin and other cryptos from growing. As long as holders and users do exists, so do bitcoins.

Well, it's natural, I believe one day ( maybe in last quarter of the year 2018 ) it going to a madness high value again and again .

If you are so scared with the fall, then what would you have done in 2013 during the MtGox issue and funny enough, it is the same bullshit crappy MtGox that is causing part of what is happening in the market presently with the huge sell off. All these things happening once in a while are normal, but using that to judge how the market will fair because of some downward trend is more like expecting too much. Moreover, it is not like the market will stop fluctuating, but does that make it ridden forever? No!

Every market can even experience a bloodbath and even stock played that out recently. The thing though that makes cryptocurrency stand out is the idea of a decentralized market and for the fact that we are getting established and things are changing rapidly and positively even with all the FUDs going around like he has said, still make things look very good. I am looking forward not to just price spike but a well-established market.

Yes, we all hope it does and I believe it will. It is normal to have different conditions in the market and what we are having presently is something that would pass and we will get to see greater times ahead in the coming months and years. There is a season for everything and presently, we are in the downtrend season, but every season will come and go and switch to the next one, and since we have only two seasons in every market, I am sure you know the next one we will be switching to.

The maybe absolutely came in as no one can determine the future and the truth is that the market can even decide to consolidate for a long time, but I do not think that may happen for a market as young as this. I so much expect that the market would rally pretty well in coming months as the bulls take over, but we have to give it time, and the same way the bull rally had a good time, we should also expect the bear rally too to have its own time which is about ending pretty soon anyway from the way the market has been responding.

Most of the whales aren't worried about this dip because those coins are remaining on their wallet without any decrease on its number but its value does.

I do not think that the cryptocurrencies such as they are now are the future. a lot of what has yet to be worked on and many problems to be solved, but the idea itself is now becoming a serious engine of progress in many spheres

Which means a day will come when everyone is trying to play on the cryptocurrency market too right ? I am not surprised that a lot of people does not really know much about cryptocurrency but it will change over time which is the reason I am not against regulation anyway as that would give investors the peace of mind in investing in cryptocurrency. It is very much true that for now, not lot of people know about bitcoin and the crypto currencies because it has not been a long time for this world to see these crypto currencies. This is actually a very time taking process and that it will take lot of time to make maximum people aware of bitcoin and all that stuff. I am very much hopeful that coming days will surely bring lot of positive things and will help us in getting rich.

I believe in that. Look, the last year also started from the drop and we saw new gains only after April. I know crypto market is unpredicted, but on the base of the last year and all of those prognoses from experts that we heard we can conclude that we will see new price's records this year, for bitcoin it is around 40k$ as I remember. My own target is simple, I am waiting to see 20k$ again as minimum, till that I am going to hold and raise my founds of crypto.

There is the potential for a lot of profits, but you need to be patient after all the last year was one of the best years in terms of profits that we have ever seen and to think that this year is going to be the same is a mistake, in this year will are probably going to see a setback and the price is not going to move much this will shake the weak hands and only the true holders will remain and obtain profits in the next year.

As Bitcoin value falls down, other alt coins falls down along with it and this happens for some time. I think what we need to do is to resist the fall thru patience and not panic on selling the investment dring this trend

Up and downs are beauty of markets and try to enjooy instead of worrying about your portfolio. Cycle will do it's job no matter how you react or feel emotional about it. There is not emotions in market and only money can dictate the trend of market. Bullrun will happen for next 2 or 3 month period but only holders will celebrate that days.

Yes, I believe so. This is not the end of Bitcoin,despite the price has been stable around $6000 and $11000, it’s never the end. If no more corrections for this early start of start of the year, then i think an expected spike of market price for Bitcoin and Altcoins is going to happen. I think the 1st quarter of this year will be more tough for bitcoin and other alts and i think that the start of the 3rd quarter is the time for bitcoin to rise.

Yes, you are right! while there are plenty of traders and investors to the extent that the market will continue to grow. IMO the situation is now just a small problem for bitcoin, we will soon reach the price at the rate of $ 15k in the near future and we will also immediately drove to the figure $ 20k in June or July. it's time to stop negative thinking about the market.

I find it very hard to predict where BTC and alcoins will be heading. Yesterday I was convinced the prices will fall further down but as you can see  the prices (https://www.coinranker.net) went up today allready.

Hmm of course we will always get many benefits in the world of cryptocurrency. As people do not panic about the sloping situation, holders will always benefit and prices will continue to rise.

Exactly, the price of bitcoin is this high even when not that many people have adopt it yet, so it is very easy to imagine that in the future when the adoption goes up as people begin to realize that bitcoin is not only a great investment but a great currency too then will see a very rapid growth in the price bitcoin, this is why many people here in the forum are still holding because a price increase is almost inevitable.
