I was reading some expert opinions about investing in cryptocurrencies and found that it's best to invest in three different cryptos. What is your opinion?

Fully depends on your strategy, your time-frame and the amount of time you are willing to spend.

There is no such criterion. You can invest in any number of coins. The most important thing is that they bring you income. The number of coins in which you have to invest money is limited only by the amount of money you have. Also you have to have available such quantity of coins that the income from them made sense. For example, if you invest in 1 Satoshi it will not give you the result even if the price increases in x 100.

theres no minimum or maximum if coin you can hold it depend on you and your money and your strategy it not about how many your coin holding it all about how you can make profit if your coin holding.

Really no criteria, if holding bigger amounts of fiat value, than bitcoin and/or ethereum should be taking up most of your portfolio, just so you dont feel much loses when alts go to dip because of bitcoin rise or fall

You can diversify as much as you can but it's unhealthy. It is not recommended to hold more than 5 coins because you can't keep up anytime with the altcoins project developments. You better to invest a big amount in a few altcoins that you already been trusted and feel the coins has a potential.

There is no limit in investing to different currencies, just be sure that the currency you are investing will increase it price in the future, check their objectives and check the people behind this currency.

It doesn't matter how many projects you are investing on there. As long as the project is promising and then that gives you a lot of profit in the future. If you are investing in garbage projects and that opinions will be useless.

The only significant thing to analyze how good the project itself. 

My advice is dont hold or trading to many coins, youll confused by all of those. Max holding is 10 different cryptocurrency and for the amount you can split it up to you. Coin A 20% coin B 20% etc. just be wise and dont invest more than you can afford to lose.

it depends on you. If you thinks a lot of coins will rise then expand your portfolio. but just remember the smaller the better. I limit my portfolio on 5 different altcoins

Of course it is a good investment strategy to diversify your portfolio in different kinds of cryptocurrency (and can also be applied in any kinds of investments such as stocks and forex) because it will lessen the chances of huge losses but for me you should only diversify if you will invest huge amount of money, so if you can only invest small amount then focus on one. There is no limit on where you can put your money 2, 3 or more cryptocurrency will be good as long as you can monitor the price of all those coins, so it is still depends on you. I have also invested in different types of coins but I only invest in cryptocurrency of it has a high liquidity and hold it for long term.

It completely depends on :
The Strategy you are following while trading : DCA/ lump sum strategies.
The amount you are willing to afford : 100 k usd is widely different from 1k usd budget
The experience you've acquired : a beginner shouldn't take the risk of investing in several coins unlike the pro trader who can easily manage his investments .

when i saw the good project i invest it because of that i hold 20-30 tokens but only 3-4 of them are a lot and creats my protfolio's character.

It depends on how confident you are of certain crypto-currency projects. I believe that you need to invest only in those coins that are personally of interest to you and you are sure that it will be a profitable and successful investment. Before investing, you need to understand the intricacies of the project, analyze the dynamics of the course. So it all depends on your abilities and time. For beginners, I recommend investing in 1-2 coins, whereas confident professionals can do up to 10 projects at the same time.

I think we can not specify the appropriate number because everybody works differently. It depends about your divisibility of attention. But yes, few coins is the best and the easiest option

Investing in a basket of cryptos is not different from stocks. None of us know with 100% certainty which coins will eventually be big, but if you do enough research into each, you can increase the probability. 10-15 coins seems like a good number.

Everything is your comfortable in Crypto platform. I cannot understand your expectation I think you are confused in Crypto investment. If you like three cryptocurrency in your portfolio choose right coin. Because everyone is started in beginner then only gain some knowledge in Crypto investment. So before to invest you should check road map of that coin this will helps to choose the best coin.

Currently I have 30+ coins/tokens in my portfolio. But it's really hard to track all of them (even with Blockfolio/Cryptocompare) and I suppose that the best amount is 15+-5.

you no need to limit your maximum number of cryptocurrencies, I've invest and holding more than 40 different cryptocurrencies, you need a lot of time to manage and check your portfolio, I'm waiting them give me a surprised later (x10 profit)

I think so. Investing in crypto currency, on the first place Bitcoin, on the second Etherium. It is also worthwhile to buy other fairly large altcoyins, for example NEO, Ripple, Litcoin. It is also worth investing in pretty good small altcoins, the price for which is very small, but the idea behind them is good. These actions minimize your risk. Even if some kind of coin will be down, it's sure that something else will go up !!!

there really isn't a fix number for that. it depends on the person. most people are "one coiners". they only invest in bitcoin and will never bother with any of the altcoins because they say it doesn't worth the headache and they are pump and dumps.

some others go over board and invest in 50+ different coins and hold them and even lost a lot of money in total which will negate if one coin goes to the moon even!

i say somewhere between these two is a good place to be. any number in 1 digits is good (1-9) and i would possibly go with 3 myself altcoin i never hold any altcoin for long.

No one has the authority of telling you whole-ha the maximum number of Cryptocurrencies to invest in, since there's no such guideline. Your investment capacity depends on your time and money management. But you should just invest in fewer numbers with potentials and that can be controlled easily by you, other than investing in numerous with lower potentials that might be burdensome and which may make mess of the whole trading chips.

I have been trading for quite a while now. I had various types of portfolios at different times. But I always preferred to have a variety of small and large cap coins in my portfolio. At a time, maximum I had were 34 coins and minimum was 1. I would say there isn't any specific number or a portfolio that one should own. But try to have a mixture of large cap coins as a long term investment, medium and small cap for short term trade and prefer very small cap Coins usually the most riskier one for day trading.

The number of coins or a type of portfolio one should own is highly dependent upon the amount of investment and the magnitude of risk one is willing to take.

In my opinion you dont have to devide the coin that you invest in. It sure good to devide the coin to make variety and hold them and when the coin is rise you can sell them and hold the that are down. But its not really necessary as long as you invest in good one.

It does not matter how many projects you invest. The main thing to find promising. You can invest in 10 fraudulent and lose everything, but you can invest in one working project and earn a lot. So here you can observe a direct dependence not on quantity, but on quality.

I don't think it's effective because in my own opinion, we could invest on different kinds of Cryptos as long as we are able to.
For me we could invest unlimited Cryptos and Altcoins as long as we trust an Altcoin because as long as there's a space on your investment portfolios then we could buy even more coins as long they're cheap and then sell when they pump.
It depends on the budget, if your money could invest only up to three Cryptos then don't force yourself because investing in Cryptos aren't always getting the profit within the time we want.

There are no exact limit to the maximum number of coins that you can invest in,it should be depends on your risk but for me the less coins that i am having the less headaches that i have,having a lot of coins to monitor each day is really stressful,you should have more quality coins that a lot of shitcoins that might not give you too much profits.

There's no limit in investing on different altcoins. If you're a person who takes a lot of risks, then you can invest as many altcoins you want. But, if you're a person who's really picky and don't have the guts to invest to 2 or more altcoins, then it's okay-- you are just being cautious. You'll just need to find the right project for you. As I said, it could be only one or lots of it. It really depends on the person investing. Of course, you need to know more about the projects you picked, ask questions, do some research, and have all the requirements needed in order to not get scam by it/those.

There are no minimum and maximum number of cryptocurrencies that you should have it is really depends on yourself,if you can monitor hundreds of coins daily you can have as many as you can,but for me quality over quantity would still the best,good projects will eventually grows and those trashy projects will soon wont have any value.

In my opinion, it is better to invest in few currencies as you will have to do a big research on each of them to be sure of their reliability. I don't mind investing 20$ in some new currencies on the market but still would find out more about them before doing this. I don't want to pay for a dead horse even 20$.

I try to keep it to a minimum but it's hard with so many promising coins and tokens that will be adopted soon.

It is not convenient for me to invest in a large number of different coins. They need to be constantly tracked. If you have 30-50 coins in your portfolio you will spend several hours trying to follow each of them to be able to get out in a proper moment. It is much more convenient to watch 5-10 coins.

As much as it's hard to follow up and keep watching a big number of cryptocurrencies, as I believe it's safest and better for the long run. Diversifying you investment could be in a different forms, personally I follow:
25% BTC/ETH
25% ICOs
25% Altcoins I believe in (4 - 8 different ones)
25% Altcoins I like (4 - 8 different ones)

I think I am holding a big number but I found it safer myself.

it depends on how much money you have and also what is your aim for investing in crypto

if you have 1.000 usd for investing, then better max 4 coin you buy

if you have 100k usd to invest in, then you can invest in 25 coins

if you want to catch the big fish, you should not divide your money into small pieces

I think there is no maximum, because a lot of them have big potential. Some have more and vast majoriy will fail. It is great idea to invest in all that have some potential for growth.

And each has their own approach , for example, I invested in 10 coins on them . But it is better to choose yourself and not to listen to anyone . To study the projects and to invest , which would then not blame anyone

I'd say that 3 is not the maximum. Investing in about 5-10 currencies is rather okay if you choose, say, a strategy of investing in first 5-10 coins on coinmarketcap and hold for about a year. I calculated elsewhere that so far this strategy would've been a very profitable one. If you pick one or two among them, it can happen that they'll get out of the top and you'll lose overall.
If you want to do trading than it's better to start with 1-2 coins and keep track very attentively. For short-term investment it is better to buy a small amount of coin, so that you don't miss the sell time.

It depends on your thinking, you can invest in more than a hundred or just in two, just invest in coins that you think you could earn, good luck.

I believe there can be only two strategies:
1) You invest in almost all of the reasonable sounding ones in hopes that one of them will be the next Facebook, google, amazon, etc.
2) You make a really deep research or have a lot of technical knowledge and you stick to 4-5 projects with the max potential.

There are no such thing as an ideal number of cryptocurrency investments,it is really depends to you the less coins that less headache you will have.There are no minimum and maximum numbers of coins that you can invest,but for me less coins will be less monitoring everday.Three type of cryptos? these people are surely not an experts because no experts will say which is which because here you need to do your own research.

While 3 seems small, I like the idea of keeping it small. Currently I have way more bags than I can handle, and I am looking to get rid of a lot and go under 10. Once I get under 10 coins, I will make it my goal to never go above that again.

There is no maximum amount of coins to invest. It all depends on the amount of coins you can control. For me, it's better to have a smaller number of coins, with more profit than a lot, which may be worthless.

In business and investments there is no limits on how much or how many coins or altcoins you should invest , it is for you to decide if you can or how you manage you investments , your time to monitor your coins in the market index.If you can handle and you have the money to buy bitcoin and other altcoin then you can have as many crypto.

There are no restrictions on how many coins you should have,there are no ideal numbers of coins but for me it is better to have less solid coins than bunch of shitcoins that could make your portfolio bleeds when the bitcoin's price has move wildy,quality is better than quantity in any market because if you have more solid coins your portfolio would be better.

Well, the answer to that question will largely depend on the depth of your pocket. Cryptocurrency is built in such a way that it is impossible for anyone to be limited by anything. As far as you can see, that is how much you can make in cryptocurrency.

Experts shouldnt have any ideal number of coins,because it is really depends on your capability if you can monitor hundreds of quality coins in a day you can have as many as you can,but in my oppinion the less coins you have the less problems you will get,it is better to have few coins which are quality and solid coins than a bunch of shitcoins.

There are no minimum and maximum requirements for your cryptocurrency investments,but few people suggest that to choose quality coins than a bags of shitcoins because these quality and solid coins would survive into any market situations,stick with the solid coins that you know so that you will be safe from these shitcoin's pumps and dumps..

My personal strategy is to diversify into 20 coins.  Within those 20 coins, I choose a variety (value, platform, storage, payment systems, etc.)  I do this because at this early stage everything is still pretty much in development stage and no one really knows which ones will succeed or fail.  This covers a broad area so I don't have FOMO.  I might invest heavier in a few projects I believe in or understand better.  With so many coins and projects out there investing in just a few coins make one seem like a prophet or maybe they just have balls.

There is no limit to investment in cryptocurrency, you can invest as much as you can on several coins, but just be mindful of making good choice and select cryptocurrency of high potential and avoid shit coins.

There are no required number of cryptocurrencies that you can hold,no manimum and maximum required it is really depends on you if you can monitor hundreds of coins daily invest to all the coins you want,but for me the less coins you have the less stress you will get.Cryptocurrencies are too volatile that is why you need to monitor these altcoins very well or else you could lose big amounts of investments especially when the market is failing you should get quality over quanity coins.

It actually depends on how well can you manage and monitor each. Also depends on the amount of money you can risk to invest. It's always better to diversify your investment because there's actually tons of altcoins out there that are worth investing and holding either for a short-term or long-term.

Many coins can be chosen but the precaution must be taken. There are different strategies which if used well can double, triple the profit if used smartly. These strategies must be used differently with the different amount of coins. I personally believe in the number 5 in your portfolio. Some coins are for the long-term and the others I use for the day trading. Everything depends on the current market situation.

The more invest - more earn term is actually questionable because the higher investment, although can bring you a big profit, also comes with the higher risk!

As much and as many potential ICO you are seeing. All coins is actually a risk, if you can afford to lose something then put it in all good projects available. You might also like to have some good reading and background checking about the project. Im not saying, invest in all kind of ICO, what Im saying is that if you see the potential then grab it. I actually diversify my investment, most of my fund is allocated on how much trust I see on a project.

Ideally I want to have a large number of different coins because you can't always predict which ones will get big. But it's hard to manage them manually. When I concentrate on one coin the others are going down. I need something to automate this for me or maybe it's just an overall bad market.

I think that there is no limitations at all. Everything will be based on your ability to monitor information and control your portfolio. I know people which invested in like 50-100 coins and felt okay.

I think that it is worth investing not even 3 and a minimum of 5-7 cryptocurrency .Thus you will diversify the portfolio and will be less dependent on one coin.

The maximum number of different cryptocurrencies you should invest in depends on which is the  maximum number of different cryptocurrencies you can properly analyse and continuously track in its developement. If you cannot keep yourself updated about some of the coins you are invested it, you easily can end up loseing your money. It happened to me - I missed a coins swap, and when I've tried to fix ii it was too late.

If we talk about investment, I think the more means the better. As long as you believe in the project and did your research about it then things would probably go well in the end.

This is a good point and something that many people overlook most of the time. Many people invest into an array of ICOS planning on becoming rich as soon as possible in the short term without doing proper research and end up losing money rather than gaining money. For example, the people who invested into coins/tokens during December last year are most likely confused and annoyed due to the bear market at the moment.

This goes to show how crucial research is in the crypto market these days. Coming to the question posted by op, there is no limit although I advise sticking to a few coins which you are confident about.

In general, you can buy only 1 coin-bitcoin. But it seems to me that even 3 coins are not enough, you need more altcoins for risk diversification.
There are 20 altcoins in my portfolio.

You know, I can say exactly how many coins, but I guess it would be less than 5, because in my opinion, each of them there are certain technologies, news, events that you should follow up to update.
