Again? Please, before posting just use the search in order to see threads about the same topic. There are thousands of people asking the same every day, and this is not correct.
Do you want to earn merits?? Then the first step is to read the forum, to look for the topics you are interested in, and, of course, to avoiding to repeat again and again the same threads.
I strongly encourage you just to read a lot every day before even thinking in posting, ok? This will help you a lot, and also other users.

Requirements are two valid ID with picture, whether voters ID, driver license, national ID, school ID and ID provided by the government.

Second is one soft copy of latest police clearance from your locality.
Third is NBI clearance from any NBI outlet
Fourth is soft copy passport size ID

Send this to the forum moderators to received 5merits.

Theymos said he doesn't want "excessive" begging; I think that's exactly how he put it.  Other members, including those on DT, disapprove of any begging, as do I.  You should NOT get merit unless you've earned it.  Why should you?  You contributed sweet fuckall by begging for it in a post or PM.

Members like this should be punished with temporary ban. This question has been asked at least 100 times on this forum and if you read just the official thread, you will come to know that one has to post good quality posts to get merited.

These members also  know this thing but they are kind of looking for shortcuts. He is himself asking if he can beg for merits or not. This shows his attitude and thinking about the merit system. One can get experienced with time but this attitude is something that hardly changes.

Being liberal to shitposters and beggars will only make this forum a bad place. Its not about giving you people a second chance - but its the way you act which explains a lot. People are supposed to "earn" merits by making constructive posts and using the merit they gain to rank up. It is not something to be offered for sale or donated or begged.

Begging for merits is the least possible bottomfeeder method to try to grab some merits. But dont worry anyone found begging for merits will be marked with red by DefaultTrust.

Wrong, if you check the current signature campaigns, they have some merit requirements ( earned merits and not the default merits) even for the senior members. I think with time we will see all this getting strictly implemented in various other sections as well. So merit matters for everyone.

Regarding the system being fair, the rules are same for all members. Like all the new members have to get the same number of merits (10) to reach to next rank (member). We have to follow the rules being a  member here. One more thing, I checked your posts after you made this thread and you are doing good now. :)

Here is how you can get merits:

1) Stop making these posts about merit system and start contributing quality posts here. Initially, you might not get any merits but merit sources will spot you soon.

2) Go to merit stats page and see all posts getting good number of merits. Try to make posts like those to increase your chances.

Finally, do not beg for merit. I think everyone is capable of earning merits here, just be patient and be ready to improve. Best of luck. :)

Given the fact you are here it is your RESPONSIBILITY to KNOW the rules and not by the admin or mods. Yes, given that you are young and inexperienced but that doesn't exempt you. The rules are strictly implemented in this community. You break then you suffer. This saying could also be implied here "Ignorance in law is not an excuse."

Because everything what you see here in the forum, like for example: BTC,ETH and Merit you should work for it by yourself and not asking/begging to other participant's.

Begging the users to give you merits aint gonna help to have merits. You have to post high quality topics to earn merits and it depends on the user/merit source if they see that as a high quality post. I know its hard for a newbie/jr member to have merits because we lack knowledge about crypto. I advise you to read article or blogs about crypto to give you more knowledge  :)

It’s a shame to beg for merit, one should have some self-respect and should think before putting anything into a new thread.
Have you ever met any beggar with a dignity? There is no one I bet. If you want to gain merit on your posts, make them valuable. Post genuine and appealing material to make them eye catching and that enhances knowledge of the readers. There will be no need to put a request to someone for awarding you merit.
On the other hand asking people to give you merit for such posts that don’t deserve clearly refers to a morally turpitude personality or a confused member of the forum who don’t have the idea of his/her existence on the forum. Our primary goal is to is to share our learnings and experience about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, gaining merit and trust should be the secondary goal of all the members here. Irrespective of everything else be honest and genuine to live a dignified life around here.  ;)

Probably the best way to get merits is by helping other people, there are plenty of forum sections where you can help new bitcoin/cryptocurrency users or anyone in general. You don't necessarily need to write full pages of content to get merit as long as what you write is useful or helpful to someone.

Before the merit system exists, this forum became a gold mine for bitcoin hunters and became one of the places where people can generate additional income. But that does not last long, here's the bitcointalk.org right now, with a merit system that is also a requirement to level up a member. The bad side from this merit system is that, since its inception, more and more new threads are coming up and mostly made by new members, as well as the topics covered have repeatedly appeared before. So whether or not this system has a positive impact on the forum or is the cause of the growing number of spam emerging by new members.

Help others before you ask for help.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Rightly said, I remember there was a member who asked some unique query about his account. He mentioned in the thread that he will give merit to the members who help him with the issue. Two members replied to his query, he send 1 merit each to both members and then locked the thread.

I think this should not be mentioned in the thread but it is obvious that if you are helping new members here even the senior members will notice this soon.
